US will need to build 478 EV charging
ports EVERY DAY for the next eight years
at a cost of $35B to meet demand for 1.2M
public ports by 2030 (And that's not counting
the 28M needed in homes!)

America would have to install 30 million electronic vehicle charging ports by 2030 if half of drivers switch to EVs by the time California's ban on gas cars takes effect. If half of all vehicles sold are zero-emission by 2030, the country would need 1.2 million public chargers and 28 million private chargers by that year—which a McKinsey report claims would cost more than $35 billion over eight years.(Snip)The country has over 128,000 public EV charging outlets and at least 4,500 private charging stations—in comparison with about 150,000 gas stations—and faces a daunting task in trying to build out for its needs.

Where does anyone get the idea that Americans are passionately committed to electric power? If we build 330 million hamster cages, does that mean everyone is going to want a hamster?

What about the inadequate electric grid? The average EV used 32 amps when charging. Charging can take hours. Charging a EV uses about the same as a whole house central AC. If the Dems were serious about people being able to heat & cool their homes while charging their EV's they would have already funded trillions to increase the grid capacity. The fact they have not suggests maybe they know brownouts ands blackouts will become the new norm in America and are ok with that. Food for thought.

The idea that EVs are zero-emissions is absurd. What generates the power that gets stored on the batteries of EVs? Are not many (most?) of them creating emissions? What generates the power to build EVs in the first place? What mining has to occur and at what environmental cost? Who is getting wealthy off this? Follow the money!

The electricity comes out of the wall plug, fool!
And milk comes out of a carton, fool!
We don’t need cows to make cartons, nor oil, gas, or coal to make wall plugs.
Come on people! It’ll be perfect!!!!!
You must be putin supporters to doubt me.
$100 BB to Ukraine!! There’s plenty more where that came from!

Do they think apartment dwellers are going to a public charging station, and sleep in their cars while they charge overnight?

Where are the 21st Century electrical successors to Standard Oil? Since when is the government building "gas stations"? If this was such a good racket, it would seem private investors would be jumping right on it. And, what, will government invoke the War Production Act to spur manufacture of these chargers? This is a War on Imperfect Environment?

Practical considerations don't matter to the insane ideologues on the left, who believe utopian visions can be manifested by positive thinking and other people's money. If they decide we should dig a ditch to bring water to people on top of a mountain, you are a greedy, racist, sexist, heartless Trumper if you point out that water doesn't flow uphill.

'To keep EVs powered up, public charging stations will ...need to be wired to a robust power grid.' True story. Not a joke.
But what will power the power generators that make up the power grid that will provide that electricity?
The Greens answer: It's a no brainer. ELECTRICITY will power the power generators that make up the power grid, even Ray Charles could see that, you flat earthers.
True story. Not a joke.

Every EV makes demands om the [public grid that are highly unfair to others. Besides being a fire and traffic hazard. IMO it is an anti social act to buy one.

THEY don't intend to replace gas driven cars with electric. They intend for you to not have any cars at all. To be prisoners , without cars, without food, without energy to heat and cool where you live. Please keep in mind that carbon dioxide is plant food. Plants use it to make oxygen which we need to sustain life. The so called greenies have no use for us.

#3 60% to 70%. Fossil fuel is also the only scalable electrical energy source. To rapidly increasing the electrical supply to meet this growing demand will push that to 90% or more. They can blanket Nevada with solar panels and turn Colorado into a wall of wind turbines and it wouldn't make a dent, (even in the daytime on a windy day). Even if they chose to build more nuclear power plants it would get caught in an infinite loop of Funding->Regulations Approvals-> Legal Challenges->More Funding->New Regulations->New Regulations Approvals-> New Legal Challenges->More Funding->... This is rhetoric and fiction. In the real world it won't happen because it can't happen.

#12 gets to the heart of the matter. To add to what they said, the oxygen we need to breathe comes from CO2 processed by plants. Even the bugs they want us to eat will need oxygen.

Not sure where we will find the lithium, cobalt, or even the manufacturing plants, but a 25 percent increase in electrical generation capacity in 7 years is not on the table

People are making a mistake....
They think our rulers want us all to drive electric cars.
Nope. They want us to BUY electric cars, but to NOT be able to drive them for much longer.
They want to limit our independent travel in general, and force us into 'mass transportation' when they allow us to travel at all. Ideally, they want us to be able to walk from our sleeping pod to our assigned labor positions , with a stop at the company / community cafeteria for our daily meals (of bugs, mostly).

And how many power plants, coal, gas or nuclear do we have to build to support all of these charging stations. Does the owner of the vehicle have to pay enough per charge to pay for the power plants. I don’t want to.

So when all of these EVs get worn out and sent to the junk yard what is the plan for recycling all of those toxic and expensive lithium batteries? What will be done with them? How much will all of this cost and who pays? Ohhhh yeahhhh send them to the Gavin Newsome Lithium Battery Recycling Depot in Sacramento.

How about we put all this on hold, until FJB proves how great it's gonna be by building an all-electric Air Force One to fly around in.
Solar panels on top of the wings could power the electric motors. After all, airplanes can fly above any cloud cover so there shouldn't be any problems. What could possibly go wrong?

We could never develop the capacity to build all of these charging stations, so it's billions for some Chinese manufacturer (plus 10% for the Big Guy).

Every place with plugs for electric cars will have to have its own power supply provided by windmills or solar panels. In the fifties, it was billboards that spoiled the scenery. Now it will be windmills and solar panels doing that job.

I wouldn't worry about the cost of these charging stations,
When they get rolling there will be a way to charge to recharge you EV, The cost will be beyond anything you gas bill is now.
People who think this is going to be cheaper than gasoline are dreaming. Wait until the Government sets the charging cost and you will feel like you have been sodomized.

The government taxes fuel. Will drivers of electric vehicles be charged a tax for the miles they drive. Will they be charged a monthly tax? Will they be charged by the amount of electricity they use to charge the car? It will not be free. An electric car is not going to be the economic vehicle the greenies keep trying to convince everyone as the government is not going to give up revenue.

The bigger question is how many coal-fired or nuclear power plants would have to be built in the same timeframe to provide the juice for it all.

A neighbor uses his house as a short rental through the Internet and does very good with rentals.
When he and or his family are here to check the house, they charge their EVs. Pretty slick, huh? He deducts the electricity as a business expense and probably writes off milage on his taxes too.

It's not a massively wasteful boondoggle, but an investment in our Green future. And never you mind where the electricity will come from to power these "zero emissions" vehicles we'll be forced to buy.
