Stay Tuned: Cheney Declares J6 Holding

For weeks, critics of the J6 Committee have noted that the committee members promised to present compelling evidence to support criminal charges, but it has not yet presented that case after nine hearings.(snip) Cheney and the Committee Chair have repeatedly stressed that voters cannot allow Trump to return to power and made repeated references to the upcoming election. The lack of any balance in the scope of examinations or presentation of evidence only magnifies the appearance of an investigation tailored to political rather than investigative priorities. (snip) Cheney is saying “stay tuned” once again like a sequel that never quite ends.(snip)members know that their control will end if the midterms

If you have evidence of crimes then why have you not already presented it. If you fail to report crimes, what does that say about you. It says you are not engaged in justice, but rather only in political theatre.

Sounds like she has "evidence" of non-criminal behavior, as there are no elements of an offense, the object of producing evidence, of a "possible crime." Why can't Chaney and the democrat media grasp those fundamental facts? Political behavior is judged only by the people who vote, not courts of law.

The Queensland state government will shutter a $223 million (US$154.6 million) COVID-19 quarantine facility in Wellcamp, west of Toowoomba, just six months after it was opened. In the same announcement, Deputy Premier Steven Miles said another multi-million dollar, federal government-funded quarantine facility in Pinkenba, Brisbane—due to be finalised in a few weeks—would not be opened. On July 27, Miles announced that the state would not continue leasing the Wellcamp-based Queensland Regional Accommodation Centre until Aug. 1. Wellcamp is about 144 kilometres west of Brisbane, the state capital, while the federally funded $350 million, 800-bed Pinkenba facility is adjacent to the Brisbane Airport and cruise ship terminal.

When Tulare resident Quentin Nelms heard California was offering a hefty state subsidy to help lower-income residents buy electric cars, he applied right away. But it wasn’t as easy as he thought it would be. Nelms spent four months on a waitlist before he was accepted into one of the state’s clean-car incentive programs in January. He qualified for $9,500 that he planned to use to buy a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E. But after discovering that several dealerships had raised the car’s price by more than $10,000 during the time it took to get the grant, he could no longer afford the roughly $53,000 cost.

A month ago, Axios reported, "Trust in news collapses to historic low." Trust in newspapers was at 16%. Trust in TV news was at 11%. Both mediums lost trust by having too much opinion and not enough facts. People do not trust the facts given by opinionators, especially opinionators with whom they disagree. That loss of trust leads to drops in circulation and viewership. (snip)As the drill sergeant said in basic training, opinions are like a certain orifice. Everyone has one. Most of them stink. The quickest way to salvation -- to convincing people that you are a trustworthy source of news -- is to get rid of the opinions.

President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats are trying to reinstate the federal assault weapon ban that was in effect for 10 years because—they claim—it reduced gun crime. The bill, which just passed the House, will soon get a vote in the Senate. In the effort to get it passed, Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made some grand claims, which they called “facts,” about the previous ban on rifles leading to decreasing crime. But those facts don’t appear to be backed up by evidence.(snip)rifle homicides dropped to 3.6 percent after the ban expired in 2004.
