Showtime’s ‘The First Lady,’ Starring
Viola Davis as Michelle Obama, Is a One-Term Flop

Original Article

There will be no second term for Showtime’s The First Lady, which starred Viola Davis as Michelle Obama. The dramatic anthology series has been canceled after just one season following ridicule from viewers and widespread negative reviews. The series also failed to pick up any major Emmy Award nominations, though it did receive a few nods in technical categories. Showtime confirmed the cancellation in a statement sent to multiple outlets on Monday, saying the show “will not be moving forward with another season.” The First Lady focused the wives of the presidents, with the plan to cover three administrations per season.

From the clip embedded in the article, it looks like Ms. Davis did a pretty good job. The negative reviews were probably because she did portray Michelle Obama as she is. Hollywood can’t do a series like this one because their obvious bias is always on display. I did not watch and I would not watch anything put out by people who actually hate me and everything I stand for.

Absolutely zero, nada, no... interest in this series in any way, shape, or form. Mooch was the worst, even Dr. Jill is better - she doesn't seem to hate America as much as Big Mike.

By mid-1945, the United States had been at war for three-and-a-half years, enduring the draft, separation from loved ones, mounting numbers of casualties, and rationing, with no end in sight. Many Americans were weary, not unlike our feelings now, after two-and-a-half years of privations and anguish related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Craft breweries across America have been on the front lines of businesses facing higher material costs because of inflation. Now, many are confronting a shortage of a key ingredient: carbon dioxide, the gas that gives beer its crisp, effervescent taste. And one brewer has already said it plans to shut down a key manufacturing plant and lay off workers as a result. "Come October 1, we won’t likely have jobs for many of this team," the company said in a statement on Instagram.
