Crayola has joined the woke brigade with
a vengeance

Here’s my rule: Any person, place, or thing that has sex as its central focus is something that is not healthy, whether for itself or for others. American corporations would do well to remember that—but of course, now that their entire management staff is filled with people who have graduated from college in the last 20 years years, they are incapable of keeping sex and sexuality out of their sights. The latest to fall is Crayola, which for no reason whatever decided that the way to celebrate crayons—a product associated with children—was to rhapsodize about a bearded lady who likes color.

Comments:

I’m not as big on “made in America” products as I used to be, since it seems that American corporations increasingly put wokeness ahead of customers.

Crayola is not alone. Those of us who have watched Hallmark for years and years have now seen it fall in line with the WOKE community. Hallmark now feels it necessary to have Gays, Lesbians and many Bi-Racial Couples in their newest lineup of Movies. I don't know why because I'm betting the Ladies who watch those Movies are all over 50 and really are not comfortable with what they're watching. I guess when their Ratings fall into the toilet they will get the message!

That 64-crayon box was not a backdrop for every kid. Most kids had the 16 crayon box, which did not come with a sharpener.

Not only is sex as a central focus not healthy, but perverted sex as a central focus is bizarre. Love our marketplace - there is always an off brand option.

I love to color and had a years old large box of crayons along with several coloring books. Got rid of the crayons during an out of state move. What a stupid thing to do! I wanted to color again and the crayons I replaced the old ones with were just cr*p and that was years ago. I shudder to think what they are like now. I would never buy another Crayola product and I hope the upcoming season for stocking school supplies makes them realize they have made a mistake.

Codevilla's last words on America's Asia-Pacific policy 0 replies

Encounter Books has just published (posthumously) Angelo Codevilla's last book, America's Rise and Fall Among Nations, which is a fierce and unvarnished criticism of U.S. foreign policy in the 20th and 21st centuries. (Snip) Washington warned against perpetual alliances with any power but understood that temporary alliances for specific circumstances may be necessary. Codevilla contends, for example, that NATO has been obsolete since the fall of the Soviet Union, and that NATO expansion has exacerbated tensions with Russia and, more important, pushed Russia into the arms of China. But one region where Codevilla counseled America's leaders to be more forward-leaning is to form an alliance with Taiwan,

On July 13, 2021, I blew the whistle at Legal Insurrection on how a new Critical Race curriculum in the Providence, Rhode Island, middle school where I taught was creating racial hostility, turning students and staff against me because I was white, and turning students against their country. My students, almost all of whom were minority, started calling me “America” because I was white — You are America, they would say, we are not. (Snip) My story gained national print and television coverage, and even international media attention. What followed was a year of retaliation, harassment, intimidation, and involuntary transfer to another school where there was no teaching position for me.

How can it be that with so much cattle in America, we sometimes can't buy meat? At the beginning of the pandemic, Costco, Wegmans and Kroger limited purchases of beef. Hundreds of Wendy's outlets ran out of hamburgers. "How the hell can this be?" says Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., in my new video. "They (Wendy's) were out of hamburger, yet you could see cattle from the drive-thru!" It happens because of stupid government rules. Massie owns a small farm in Kentucky. "I'd rather deal with cattle than congressmen," he jokes. "At least (cattle) exhibit learned behavior." But politicians often don't.

If you have been paying any attention at all to academia in this country, you know it has entered a dark age, neglecting what my alma mater once described as its function: A place for the sifting and winnowing of ideas. Today’s academic “marketplace” increasingly sells only one product, drives others from the agora with a variety of bullying actions, and threatens both the sellers and purchasers into silence about alternate products. (Snip) We are entering a future where blacklisting, censorship, and the abuse of power will become the norm, because apparently the new generation thinks such things are always justified, if they have been offended in any way.

If there is one concept that captured the brilliant vision of President James Madison for government, it was his statement in Federalist 51: “Ambition must be made to counteract ambition.” The use of checks and balances to prevent the concentration of power was key to the stability of the constitutional system that he created. Indeed, his own home at Montpelier may now be an example of what happens when there is such a concentration of power and no check on its abuse. (Snip) The exhibits now emphasize Madison “the enslaver,” and visitors have complained that there is little comparative attention to his contributions to political theory and institutions.

The left’s obsession with centering everything on race and sex has reached a new and despicable low with an upcoming movie called “The Woman King.” The “historical epic film” centers around the real African kingdom of Dahomey, which existed during the Scramble for Africa in the age of empires, around 1800 to 1904. Viola Davis plays General Nanisca, leader of an all-female band of warriors known as the Dahomey Amazons, as she struggles against European attempts to conquer the kingdom. Wow! It’s got everything! Headlines lately have not been encouraging for the faithful. A Gallup poll shows that the percentage of Americans who believe in God has fallen to 81 percent—a drop of 10 percent over the last decade and an all-time low. This accelerating trend is especially pronounced among young adults. (Snip) Perhaps surprisingly, our survey discovered that the perceived message of science has played a leading role in the loss of faith. We found that scientific theories about the unguided evolution of life have, in particular, led more people to reject belief in God than worries about suffering, disease, or death.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is calling for the end of private car ownership in the name of saving the world from climate change by reducing the need for green tech resources. “We need a clean energy revolution, and we need it now,” the WEF begins its article. According to the WEF, critical metals, such as cobalt, lithium, and nickel — all of which are used in “clean energy technologies” — are in short supply. And while the WEF says recycling old tech that uses these metals could lessen the impact of shortages, it’s simply not enough. “The complication is that we do not currently have enough metals in in circulation

Author Jeffrey Frank has written two biographies of American presidents, one about Harry S. Truman and another about the relationship between Dwight D. Eisenhower and his Vice President Richard Nixon. He draws on that knowledge of history to argue that President Biden is doing a poor job preparing VP Harris to succeed him. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was a first-term senator from California before entering the White House, hasn’t been given the sort of immersive experiences or sustained, high-profile tasks that would deepen and broaden her expertise in ways Americans could see and appreciate. In the modern era, of course, a 68-day trip for a vice president would be laughable.

The leak rocked the federal judiciary, the American political scene, and led to an ugly campaign to intimidate Supreme Court justices, inspiring one assassination plot that thankfully went nowhere. Chief Justice John Roberts promised an investigation to identify the leaker, and the pool of suspects seemed relatively small — the justices themselves and their clerks. Almost three months later, though, the leaker has seemingly escaped detection and punishment. Are they even still investigating the leak? The Associated Press can’t even get an answer to that question from the court:

Hunter Biden reportedly did not register as a foreign agent while making business deals overseas, according to the New York Post. Experts said recently it was a possible crime that could result in him being sent to prison. The report noted Biden was registered as a lobbyist for domestic interests but not under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). In addition, Biden could reportedly face charges regarding tax violations and lying about illegally buying a firearm. Breitbart News reported Wednesday: The probe, which has been ongoing for years and debated for months among Justice Department officials, also centers on the Biden family’s foreign business schemes while Joe Biden was vice president.

Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin suggested that abortion bans in some states could actually violate religious beliefs in a column on Sunday. Rubin introduced the subject by referencing a lawsuit brought up by the Jewish Congregation L’Dor Va-Dor against the 15-week abortion ban in Florida. The congregation argued that Jewish law "does not consider life to begin at conception or at 15 weeks" and refusing an abortion could violate their beliefs. Though Rubin questioned whether this would sufficiently infringe on "First Amendment rights and the state constitution’s free-exercise clause," she still considered the issue "important."
