NY Times Opinion: If something happens
to Biden, Kamala Harris isn't ready to
take over

Original Article

Author Jeffrey Frank has written two biographies of American presidents, one about Harry S. Truman and another about the relationship between Dwight D. Eisenhower and his Vice President Richard Nixon. He draws on that knowledge of history to argue that President Biden is doing a poor job preparing VP Harris to succeed him. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was a first-term senator from California before entering the White House, hasn’t been given the sort of immersive experiences or sustained, high-profile tasks that would deepen and broaden her expertise in ways Americans could see and appreciate. In the modern era, of course, a 68-day trip for a vice president would be laughable.

So the plan is for Kamala to step up as POTUS, install Hillary as VEEP and either step down with a golden parachute or as an Arkanicide victim? Is that the plan? It would fit.

OMG, the brilliant Newspaper of Record has finally awoken to what the majority of Americans knew before Kamala was elected. Even now, the statement is that she has "not become the successful public face on any major issue". Kamala's only "face" is as the WH Klown, known only for her cackling laughter. She is not a leader of ANY caliber, let alone for the presidency. For all the dems hysterical predictions of disaster for a Republican victory in November, a Kamala presidency would be far, far worse. It's amusing that the Slimes has shown a bit of genteel concern about it but they are carefully clueless as to the true scope of the issue. They can't handle the truth.

This is not what a country in decline and turmoil needs. A constant shuffling of presidential positions one after another until the cards align for the communists will drive us further into the dirt, but that is their goal.

If something happens to Biden and the incompetent and unready Harris moves into the White House one possible scenario is to bring Barack Obama in as her tutor, but really for all intents and purposes to serve his unconstitutional third term. If the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats plan to use a scenario about as pointed out by Poster #4, they must do that before the upcoming November election that is likely to give the wimpy Republicans control of the Congress as the Republicans might dredge up the guts to vote against Hillary Clinton being given the VP job, but who knows the RINOS might go along with Hillary.

The problem with below, they would likely have a 50/50 Senate, and without Harris there, or anyone, to break the tie. The 25th Amendment to the Constitution — passed by Congress in 1965 and ratified in 1967 — clarifies the rules of succession to the presidency. It's true that if the president cannot serve his or her full term, the vice president assumes the role of president. "In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President," Section 1 of the 25th Amendment reads. But it's not true that the speaker of the House — or any other predetermined individual — automatically becomes vice president. Upon becoming president, the former vice president would choose another individual to become his or her vice president. "Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress," Section 2 of the amendment explains.

No President from George Washington to Barrack Obama et al. could ever get Kamala Harris ready to be President. She hasn't got the right stuff. Just as Obama couldn't prepare the doofus we have now. The dems have to figure a way to get rid of both of them within a short period politically. But if GOP controls Congress they would be able to dictate who becomes Veep. So slipping someone like Moochelle in won't work. Or they could leave it empty with GOP Speaker next in line if Kamala gets gone. Then run 2024 on the line of letting the American People decide it all. For dem time is getting real short.

Yes #24, Nancy P is third in line, but she wouldn't take over the presidency unless something happed to take out Biden and Harris simultaneously. The Speaker of the House would not become vice president to Harris automatically if Harris rose to the office of POTUS. See #'s 15 and 24 who know how this works, or read the 25th amendment to the Constitution. #4 could also benefit from this reading. If Harris became President, she would nominate her own choice to be Vice President, but a simple majority (not 2/3's) would be required to vote for that nominee before he/she/it could rise to the office of VP. Even now, with the Senate split 50-50, it would be difficult for someone like Hillary to receive a majority of the Senate votes, unless those RINOs, Pierre Delecto Romney, Lisa Murkowsky, and Susan Collins were to vote for that nominee. As a practical matter, Obama, Susan Rice, and George Soros will continue to let Biden run around reading his TelepPrompter and eating ice cream, while his puppeteers write what Biden says and the Executive Orders Biden signs. If Biden keeled over, Harris would step up, but she would likely follow everything she is told by Obama and the other Biden minders in the White House, just as Biden does. Personally, I think Pierre Delecto is hoping someone like Harris will nominate him for VP just because a sufficient number of both Republicans and dems may be likely to vote for him as a compromise candidate. That's why he keeps showing them his left-wing bona fides at voting time, and why he marched at the head of the parade with the Black Lives Matter conmen and conwomen.

Joe Manchin, the Democratic U.S. senator from West Virginia, may finally see the writing on the wall and realize his time in politics is coming to an end. Manchin, who held onto his Senate seat by just over 3 percent during his most recent reelection bid, is likely to squander any of the goodwill he has generated among his constituents with his recently declared support for the latest reconciliation bill in the Senate. After presenting himself as a foil to many of the Biden administration’s leftist legislative goals, Manchin has come to an agreement with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer about dedicating “hundreds of billions” of federal

The American left has plenty to complain about these days. Liberals who support standard Democratic Party platform planks such as legal abortion, more gun control, and public schools over private schools or homeschooling, have been drenched in bad news coming from various Supreme Court cases and polls showing a widespread rejection of their agenda in the coming elections. There is plenty of blame to go around, at least in their minds. The conservative majority on the Supreme Court is near the top of the list of villains for many. Conservative elected officials passing laws they disagree with are also common targets. And then there’s always the Bad Orange Man

In Virginia’s 2021 gubernatorial contest Democrat Terry McAuliffe based his campaign on the fiction that Republican Glenn Youngkin was a “Trump wannabe.” McAuliffe lost in a state Biden had carried by 10 points. Six months later, in the special election held to fill Texas’ 34th Congressional District, Democrat Dan Sanchez pursued the same strategy against “Trump loyalist” Mayra Flores. Sanchez became the first Democrat in well over a century to lose in the Rio Grande Valley. These two races were just the most visible of several contests that reveal a reality the Democrats need to face.

Thursday morning, the Commerce Department admitted what most Americans already knew — the nation is in the midst of a recession. The economy has contracted for the second consecutive quarter this year. During the first quarter, gross domestic product (GDP) shrank by 1.6 percent, and it shriveled another 0.9 percent during the quarter that just ended. Thus, the Biden economy now meets the standard benchmark economists have used for decades to define “recession.” Inevitably, the White House, its accomplices in Congress, and the corporate media are again trying to gaslight the voters.

When a New York Times/Siena survey came out earlier this month showing that 64 percent of self-identified Democrats wanted a different presidential nominee than Joe Biden, a frisson of fear could be felt in party circles, especially given the president’s apparent determination to run for another term. But hey, many Democrats probably thought, maybe this poll is an outlier. It couldn’t be that bad, could it?Now comes a CNN survey showing that 75 percent of self-identified Democrats want someone other than the 46th president heading up their 2024 ticket. There’s not much ambiguity when you look at the poll’s internals, either.

Before departing for its summer recess, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to take up Moore v. Harper, a redistricting dispute between North Carolina’s legislature and Supreme Court. The latter struck down two congressional maps enacted by the former and then imposed its own redistricting scheme. The North Carolina General Assembly petitioned SCOTUS to rule that this violated the U.S. Constitution. Predictably, the mere fact that the justices agreed to hear the case at all has produced panic among Democrats and a deluge of dire predictions about the demise of democracy.

Bill Maher made this transition months ago, but the rest of the late-night comics have been as loathe to target Biden for pointed political jokes as they were with Barack Obama.
