Author Jeffrey Frank has written two biographies of American presidents, one about Harry S. Truman and another about the relationship between Dwight D. Eisenhower and his Vice President Richard Nixon. He draws on that knowledge of history to argue that President Biden is doing a poor job preparing VP Harris to succeed him. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was a first-term senator from California before entering the White House, hasn’t been given the sort of immersive experiences or sustained, high-profile tasks that would deepen and broaden her expertise in ways Americans could see and appreciate. In the modern era, of course, a 68-day trip for a vice president would be laughable.

There is plenty of blame to go around, at least in their minds. The conservative majority on the Supreme Court is near the top of the list of villains for many. In Virginia’s 2021 gubernatorial contest Democrat Terry McAuliffe based his campaign on the fiction that Republican Glenn Youngkin was a “Trump wannabe.” McAuliffe lost in a state Biden had carried by 10 points. Six months later, in the special election held to fill Texas’ 34th Congressional District, Democrat Dan Sanchez pursued the same strategy against “Trump loyalist” Mayra Flores. Sanchez became the first Democrat in well over a century to lose in the Rio Grande Valley. These two races were just the most visible of several contests that reveal a reality the Democrats need to face.

The economy has contracted for the second consecutive quarter this year. During the first quarter, gross domestic product (GDP) shrank by 1.6 percent, and it shriveled another 0.9 percent during the quarter that just ended. Thus, the Biden economy now meets the standard benchmark economists have used for decades to define “recession.” Inevitably, the White House, its accomplices in Congress, and the corporate media are again trying to gaslight the voters.

According to the NY Post, when the laptop story broke back in October 2020, James Gilliar, who was also involved in the CEFC deal, sent a panicked email to an unnamed person to talk about the “Big Guy,” when it became clear that some of this was going to come out.

But hey, many Democrats probably thought, maybe this poll is an outlier. It couldn’t be that bad, could it?Now comes a CNN survey showing that 75 percent of self-identified Democrats want someone other than the 46th president heading up their 2024 ticket. Lindsey Graham accused Fulton County DA Fani Willis of “playing politics” with her subpoena in an investigation of the 2020 election. Yesterday, a judge agreed with Graham in general about the Democrat DA’s bias, if not specifically in regard to the subpoena for Graham. A Fulton County judge blocked Willis from investigating a leading GOP candidate in an alleged “fake elector” scheme, because Willis not only endorsed his Democratic rival at the same time she launched the probe but also held a fundraiser for him a few months later:

Before departing for its summer recess, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to take up Moore v. Harper, a redistricting dispute between North Carolina’s legislature and Supreme Court. The latter struck down two congressional maps enacted by the former and then imposed its own redistricting scheme. The North Carolina General Assembly petitioned SCOTUS to rule that this violated the U.S. Constitution. Predictably, the mere fact that the justices agreed to hear the case at all has produced panic among Democrats and a deluge of dire predictions about the demise of democracy.
Hollywood comedians seem to have forgotten how to be funny when it comes to liberal politicians. Jimmy Kimmel, for example, has long since given up on the concept, becoming instead simply a mouthpiece for the Democrats and whatever their latest narrative is. He even “interviewed” Joe Biden where Biden descended into delusion, pushing false claims on his show.
But Kimmel had former Saturday Night Live legend Dana Carvey stand in for him and Carvey was willing to mock Joe Biden with some real comedy when Kimmel is not.

A federal appeals court overturned a ruling by a lower court to allow Georgia’s heartbeat law to go into effect immediately. Normally, the law would not go into effect for weeks after the ruling but the court issued a second order allowing the law to go into effect immediately.
The law is one that is from 2019. It had been banned from taking effect until now. It is one that states that abortions are not allowed once a heartbeat is detected. You really have to wonder who ran against some of these morons in political office sometimes. Honestly, was the alternative to someone like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being forced to step on a rusty nail? Was Eric Swalwell’s opponent a literal cannibal promising to consume children if elected? If you set out to elect some of the dumbest creatures to ever walk upright on the planet, you couldn’t do much better than what Democrats currently have serving in Congress and the White House. Why?
There is no good answer, at least one that covers everyone. There are, after all, a lot of really dumb Democrats in office.
