The left’s obsession with centering everything on race and sex has reached a new and despicable low with an upcoming movie called “The Woman King.” The “historical epic film” centers around the real African kingdom of Dahomey, which existed during the Scramble for Africa in the age of empires, around 1800 to 1904. Viola Davis plays General Nanisca, leader of an all-female band of warriors known as the Dahomey Amazons, as she struggles against European attempts to conquer the kingdom. Wow! It’s got everything! Strong, black women and evil, white Europeans. It’s a leftist dream! Except for the horrific reality of how the kingdom of Dahomey treated

It's a pay day for the actors no matter what the subject of the film is about. The actors don't care. They pretend to care so the film makes money, but that's about it. The real story behind the movie is never told. It's the agenda that matters, and that is the truth behind so many movies made in the last forty years.

ALL were married to the King, at times over 1000 were his wives, Europeans called them amazons, but in their own Language they were called "Kings Wives" Some reports say they were all Lesbian, actually considered them selves "Trans". had become "Men, not women", had a support camp of prostitute/slaves for their personal use.. They may have had some wartime successes against neighbors and raiding for slaves(many were themselves slaves captured in similar raids)...others were inducted after complaints to the King from their husbands or families that they were argumentative, disrespectful, ill behaved. Their battlefield enthusiasm was remarked upon by several foes, but was ineffectual...they died in droves, in one battle against the French over 400 were killed within minutes, many more wounded, the French lost 6 soldiers. Perhaps next they will make a film of Kaddafi's all female personal guard contingent.

I like Blair's style: There’s a tendency from those on the radical left to lionize people simply for their immutable characteristics. Blacks, trans people, and women receive accolades simply for existing, and the left heaps favor on the holy identity trifecta: the black trans woman.

Hollywood is not a purveyor of fact or truth. It is the "Dream Factory" that churns out fiction, often under the appellation of "Based on...", which is often just more fiction. It may be rubbish by any standard. Nonetheless, I'm sure this will be well reviewed with high praise. I won't know as I have no plans to see it.

Remember Sasquatch stating when in Portugal 'this exit was the last they saw before they (slaves) were shipped out'. Odd she never mentioned for instance the people who had sold them so that they got to this exit. And all that to get some beads to satisfy their greed. But I understand that the people of the various tribes who sold their relatives 'apologized'. Strange, but the US did the same but keep paying and paying.

The fall of Montpelier to the radical left 0 replies

If there is one concept that captured the brilliant vision of President James Madison for government, it was his statement in Federalist 51: “Ambition must be made to counteract ambition.” The use of checks and balances to prevent the concentration of power was key to the stability of the constitutional system that he created. Indeed, his own home at Montpelier may now be an example of what happens when there is such a concentration of power and no check on its abuse. (Snip) The exhibits now emphasize Madison “the enslaver,” and visitors have complained that there is little comparative attention to his contributions to political theory and institutions.

Elon Musk recently declaring that we need to move on from President Donald Trump is the latest example of chatter I have noticed lately on the news and conservative blogs about why we need to do an about-face to Governor Ron DeSantis as our presidential nominee in 2024. (Snip) First, I am a big Governor DeSantis fan. He is showing what strong state leadership looks like and how it is possible to constitutionally resist a tyrannical federal government. DeSantis has been a profile in courage, toughness, sensibility, and even love as he stands for the citizens of Florida. He is the living embodiment of a patriotic executive.

Headlines lately have not been encouraging for the faithful. A Gallup poll shows that the percentage of Americans who believe in God has fallen to 81 percent—a drop of 10 percent over the last decade and an all-time low. This accelerating trend is especially pronounced among young adults. (Snip) Perhaps surprisingly, our survey discovered that the perceived message of science has played a leading role in the loss of faith. We found that scientific theories about the unguided evolution of life have, in particular, led more people to reject belief in God than worries about suffering, disease, or death.

The calls and text messages are relentless. On the other end are doctors and scientists at the top levels of the NIH, FDA and CDC. They are variously frustrated, exasperated and alarmed about the direction of the agencies to which they have devoted their careers. “It's like a horror movie I'm being forced to watch and I can't close my eyes,” one senior FDA official lamented. “People are getting bad advice and we can’t say anything.” That particular FDA doctor was referring to two recent developments inside the agency. First, how, with no solid clinical data, the agency authorized Covid vaccines for infants and toddlers,

First of all, none of you are required to become parents. Some people should never, ever be parents. Police in the Netherlands opened fire at farmers protesting against the government’s radical new “climate change” policies. The shots were fired when a tractor convoy tried to push past a police barricade, the local news reports say. “The incident occurred late Tuesday evening on a freeway access near Heerenveen” in northern Holland, the Swiss newspaper Schweizer Bauer reported. “Farmers had blocked the road with tractors. As they approached police and their vehicles, the officers resorted to their firearms and hit at least one of the tractors,” the daily added, citing police sources.

Five weeks ago, shortly after the last mass shooting occurred, I published a two-part series demonstrating the link between taking certain psychiatric medicines and developing violent psychotic behavior, which includes committing mass shootings. Doctors are mystified by a rash of seizures, rashes, etc. happening to 2 and 3-year-old kids. The only thing these kids have in common is that they were given the COVID vaccine just days earlier (two to five days earlier). The doctors cannot figure out what is causing the seizures (since it couldn’t be the vaccine since those are safe and effective). The medical staff is not permitted to talk about the cases to the press or on social media or they will be fired. The power of the administrative state to destroy liberty and property – to blast through legislation, science, and judicial oversight – was never more on display than in the last two and a half years. One would hope that the deep bureaucracies would have learned their lessons on how not to respond to a new pathogen. There is no evidence they have. Regardless, the real problem is much deeper. It has to do with the status of the administrative state as the effective governing apparatus of the US. It’s not Congress and not the President. It’s the vast and permanent bureaucracy of 432 agencies and 2.9M bureaucrats who are unreachable

Furious Dutch farmers brought cows to The Hague and threatened to slaughter the animals on Tuesday in protest of the Netherlands' $26 billion climate plan that could reduce the livestock population by 30%. The Netherlands, one of Europe's top greenhouse gas emitters, is planning on halving its nitrogen output by 2030, Bloomberg reported. The government plan would shutter some farms, as much of the nitrogen is blamed on manure and fertilizer from cattle. The output goal is in compliance with European Union rules to reduce pollution. The Netherlands is the world's second-largest agricultural exporter, per AFP, and some regions of the country will need to cut as much as 95%
