The New York Times published a series of op-eds by its opinion columnists Thursday that began with the phrase "I Was Wrong About." As part of the collection, Bret Stephens admitted he was wrong to label Trump supporters "appalling." Stephens said, "The worst line I ever wrote as a pundit" was the first he ever wrote about Trump: "If by now you don’t find Donald Trump appalling, you’re appalling." "This opening salvo, from August 2015, was the first in what would become dozens of columns denouncing Trump as a unique threat to American life, democratic ideals and the world itself," he continued. So is this the strategy? Offer a weak apology and when the democrats lose big in November start that good old line of bull hockey that goes, for the good of the country, we must unite. Republicans need to reach across the aisle and offer an olive branch. To that I say, stuff it up your stove pipe! Do not trust any democrat or democrat supporter when they beg for cooperation. They do not want it. All they want is to lessen the smack down they so richly deserve. Heck, most of them should be in jail. Republicans, for the good of the country you must stand on principle. Enforce the rule of law. Investigate things that need to be investigated but make those investigations count. Put people in place that will seek Justice, not the political limelight. Do that and revenge will not be an issue. Just let the constitution of this country be the instrument of driving equality under the law. Give them Justice and let them beg to God for mercy.

You continue to ignore the pile of evidence that indicates that the election was in the least at question, at them most openly stolen by the democrats and their shills in the MSM, the New York Times being one of the prime villains in this political play. Play political games and destroy the trust your institution had built up totally. I used to occasionally buy the Times and the Post for their News esp. international news. I quit when I found the attitude of their political bias' moved onto the news pages. You want to pimp in the editorial pages ok, when your whole yellow rag is the arm of a political movement then it's goodbye and don't let the door hit you going away. Then they whine because their readership dissolves and nobody except the kool aid drinkers believe them.

Biden Administration Bracing for a Tsunami

Politico calls the coming avalanche of bad economic news a “Category 5 storm.” Indeed, the Biden administration may want to dig a hole and hide while Biden goes to his summer home in Delaware, given the depressing numbers that will come out of Washington this coming week. Consumer confidence numbers (which currently stink) hit on Tuesday. A Federal Reserve meeting and decision on interest rates, coupled with a press conference from Fed Chair Jerome Powell, follows up on Wednesday. The first reading on second quarter economic growth drops on Thursday. And the latest numbers on our vexing run of historically high consumer price inflation close out the monster run

There were 10 times more galaxies just like our own Milky Way in the early Universe than previously thought. This cosmic insight comes from one of the first studies of images captured by Nasa's new James Webb Space Telescope. One of its authors, Prof Christopher Conselice from the University of Manchester, UK, said that Webb could "zoom in on the early Universe". This yielded insights about objects in space that "we knew existed but didn't understand how and when they formed". Disc galaxies dominate the "galaxy population" today," the researcher explained. "Our own galaxy is a disc, Andromeda (our nearest neighbour, which is 2.5 million light-years from Earth) is a disc.

It was the first time the chief of the U.N. health agency has taken such an action. “We have an outbreak that has spread around the world rapidly through new modes of transmission

Steve has mentioned the brief heat wave that brought unprecedented high temperatures to much of England, and elsewhere in Northwestern Europe. The heat wave didn’t last long–the high today in London was 79 degrees–but it prompted an outpouring of global warming hysteria. I was reminded of visiting London around 27 years ago, in April. Then, too, the city was in the midst of an unprecedented heat wave–in April! With temperatures in the 90s and no air conditioning, everyone was sweltering.
