When we lose our first parent its always so wrenching, especially when its unexpected. I also lost my mother first, unexpected by a heart attack on December 23rd. My heart goes out to Ivanka and the entire Trump family. Ivana was a singular woman and we were all graced to have her in the world. God grant unto her eternal rest, and may the Perpetual Light shine upon her. Amen.

There have been plenty of clownish families over the years who have somehow managed to find themselves in places of prominence on America’s political stage. Perhaps most notable was the Carter Family in the late 1970s. Jimmy Carter was a pathetic leader, and his beer-guzzling, hillbilly brother Billy was a family embarrassment; but at least the Carters had Lillian as the spunky matriarch. We also have the Cuomo Family, of course, with unemployed former CNN hack Fredo and disgraced grandparent-killer Andrew. And then, we have the Bidens… a family that makes the Carters and Cuomos look like the Roosevelts.

One of the more fascinating aspects of the debate regarding COVID vaccine mandates over the past year has been the role of professional athletes in the conversation. Most Hollywood and music industry celebrities have stayed quiet about the subject, with a few exceptions such as Eric Clapton and Jim Carrey. But major sports stars have not only been vocal in their opposition to such mandates, they’ve put their money where their mouths are. Kyrie Irving, who plays guard for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA, missed most of last season due to his refusal to get vaccinated. Tennis star Novak Djokovic

Elon Musk said former President Donald Trump should not run for a second term, arguing that he’s too old and “too much drama.” The Tesla CEO, who had vowed to reinstate Trump’s Twitter account before he moved to terminate the $44 billion acquisition of the social media giant, responded late Monday to a Twitter post from Breitbart News that included a clip of Trump slamming the tech mogul as “another bullsh-t artist.” “I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset,” the world’s richest person tweeted in response to Trump’s comments.

Rhode Island may be the smallest of the fifty states, but apparently, it has plenty of room for race-baiting, attention-seeking, hedonistic morons like our knucklehead of the week. In the Ocean State’s legislature, a first-term senator named Tiara Mack managed to summarize much of what plagues America and our culture with one ill-advised social media posting and her subsequent counterattack against outraged critics. If someone unfamiliar with the continuing decay of our society were to ask us to provide one example of what ails us, the behavior of this week’s top knucklehead would be an ideal choice. The mayor of San Francisco appointed an outspoken critic of ousted District Attorney Chesa Boudin as his replacement, saying that her pick was the right person to pursue criminal justice reform while holding offenders to account. Mayor London Breed on Thursday announced that Brooke Jenkins will be the next district attorney after voters in the famously liberal city kicked out the politically progressive Boudin in a special recall election last month. She will be sworn into office Friday.  CORRECTION*

Have you thought about stopping by to see how those repairs to the Cathedral of Notre Dame are coming along? Well, if you’re intent on also admiring the Eiffel Tower you had better book that trip soon. And when you’re there, maybe you can suggest that some of those repair crews at the Notre Dame pack their tools and head west on the Rue de Babylone so they can start repairing the Eiffel Tower.

The similarities between California Governor Gavin “Gruesome” Newsom and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are quite remarkable. They both spend far too much time focusing on their hair and looking in the mirror. They’re both entirely self-absorbed and are thoroughly impressed with themselves. And they’re both completely incompetent, far-left clowns with virtually no morals. Newsom and Trudeau are truly despicable human beings. They also appear to be in a competition to see who’s the biggest knucklehead. For the time being, Mr. Newsom takes that honor by breaking a tie between himself and Trudeau, as Newsom makes his second appearance in our weekly tribute to stupidity.

He has been working in the Baltic countries for the past few years, and said that those places are beginning to re-paganize. About the Christian churches in the West, he said that it feels to him like we are at the point of the downfall of the Kingdom of Judah, just before the Jews were taken to Babylon in captivity. He said that in those days, many false prophets appeared, telling the Jews what they wanted to hear:

Spectacular and groundbreaking snapshots of the early cosmos gripped the world earlier this week when NASA released the first images from its new super space telescope. James Webb captured an unprecedented look at a 'stellar nursery', a dying star cloaked by dust and a 'cosmic dance' between a group of galaxies, along with hints of water vapor in the atmosphere of a remote exoplanet. What is even more exciting, however, is that astronomers say this is just 'the tip of the iceberg'. It is hoped the $10 billion (£7.4 billion) telescope will also observe the very first stars to shine, detect habitable planets in far-away galaxies and peer back in time

A Gallup poll shows that the percentage of Americans who believe in God has fallen to 81 percent—a drop of 10 percent over the last decade and an all-time low. This accelerating trend is especially pronounced among young adults. (Snip) Perhaps surprisingly, our survey discovered that the perceived message of science has played a leading role in the loss of faith. We found that scientific theories about the unguided evolution of life have, in particular, led more people to reject belief in God than worries about suffering, disease, or death.
