Chris Cuomo had short-lived aspirations of extinguishing real life infernos — not just the media fire faced by his disgraced brother, ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, according to a new report. The ex-CNN host applied to be a volunteer firefighter with the East Hampton Fire Department after the network fired him last December for advising his brother throughout the governor’s sexual harassment scandal, the Daily Beast reported Monday. But the former primetime news anchor ultimately withdrew his application a short time after meeting with fire chiefs earlier this year as he was unable to devote enough of his time to fulfill the role,

Comments:

Fredo the firefighter. I can see it now: selfies and daily videos of his heroics extracting cats that are stuck up in trees. It's all about him, you know.

Oh, poor baby. I guess the Fire Department decided it would be detrimental to their jobs to have Cuomo’s camera crew around.

Born in 1970, so 52 years old. Typical max first hire age for firefighters is 35, maybe stretch that to 40 some places. Frankly, the job is extremely strenuous and requires a younger man. He's too old already, and even if he was instantly able to do it (takes training and experience) he'd only be on the job for 8 years or so. No way they'd hire someone that old.

Justin Trudeau deserves the gallows, so let’s just be clear about that. Laughing at his haircut is trivial compared to the injustices he has imposed on Canadians and the harms he has inflicted upon them. Still, mockery is a crucial element to combatting the many absurdities of tyranny. If there is one thing we know about leftists, they crave adoration and approval. People with pronouns meltdown over the wrong he/she being used, so this is not an overstatement. Whether it’s a pre-K teacher upset at not being allowed to teach queer gender theory or the leader of a western country, all leftists are the same.

There have been plenty of clownish families over the years who have somehow managed to find themselves in places of prominence on America’s political stage. Perhaps most notable was the Carter Family in the late 1970s. Jimmy Carter was a pathetic leader, and his beer-guzzling, hillbilly brother Billy was a family embarrassment; but at least the Carters had Lillian as the spunky matriarch. We also have the Cuomo Family, of course, with unemployed former CNN hack Fredo and disgraced grandparent-killer Andrew. And then, we have the Bidens… a family that makes the Carters and Cuomos look like the Roosevelts.

One of the more fascinating aspects of the debate regarding COVID vaccine mandates over the past year has been the role of professional athletes in the conversation. Most Hollywood and music industry celebrities have stayed quiet about the subject, with a few exceptions such as Eric Clapton and Jim Carrey. But major sports stars have not only been vocal in their opposition to such mandates, they’ve put their money where their mouths are. Kyrie Irving, who plays guard for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA, missed most of last season due to his refusal to get vaccinated. Tennis star Novak Djokovic

The similarities between California Governor Gavin “Gruesome” Newsom and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are quite remarkable. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) inflation concerns on climate legislation by stating that climate is “an emergency” that “We have to do everything that we can” about, and this is “more important than any current economic statistics” like inflation. Host Ari Melber asked, “Is the global macro inflation a reason not to do something on climate right now? How do you work with your colleague there when sometimes his reasons don’t really match what’s happening?”

The president stopped short of issuing a national climate emergency, but said he would use executive powers to address the issue. “As president I’ll use my executive powers to combat climate crisis in the absence of Congressional action,” Biden added.

During his remarks about the dangers of pollution, he recalled how he grew up in Claymont, Delaware, not far from a host of oil refineries across the state line in Pennsylvania. He recalled how after the first frost, residents of Claymont had to turn on the windshield wipers to get the oil slick off the windshields

Long-time political strategist Dick Morris, formerly of the Clinton camp before coming to the light some years ago, penned a piece for Newsmax yesterday that predicted a 2016 rematch pitting twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton against former president – and America’s most popular politician – Donald Trump. Clinton just can’t give it a rest. She has rested her entire legacy on one day sitting in the Oval Office as this nation’s first female president. Of course, her party can’t define the term “woman” anymore, and then there’s the fact that she hates this country and most of the deplorables living in it.

The poll comes from the Casper-Star Tribune and was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy. Hageman has 52 percent support, while Rep. Cheney has 30 percent. No other candidate has more than 5 percent. Just 11 percent are undecided.

But since his heroic actions contradict the carefully-cultivated left-wing narrative, a number of prominent voices have immediately risen up to demonize the young man. Case in point: the majority of the hosts on ABC’s “The View,” whose considered opinion is that Dicken just got “very lucky,” and was probably as bad as the mass shooter since he “broke the law” when he carried his gun into the mall. As the United States continues to come to grips with the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, I cannot stop thinking about how the court used a legal system built entirely by men to diminish women — once again — into nothing more than a vessel for producing babies. I am a rabbi in a legal system that excluded women for thousands of years, much like the legal system that the Supreme Court relied on in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. But unlike the American legal system, the Jewish tradition, in certain respects, including abortion, found a way to craft laws grounded in equal dignity for women.

In the past fifty years, we’ve had precisely ten different First Ladies in America. Some of them spent their time in the White House mostly under the radar, with Rosalynn Carter and both Laura and Barbara Bush falling into this category. Others such as Nancy Reagan with her fondness for astronomy and Betty Ford with her personal challenges were somewhat quirkier, but they were likeable and mostly unremarkable. Both Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama could be outspoken and controversial, but at least they were mostly clever and competent. And then we have Jill Biden. The adage “opposites attract” may be true in some cases,
