First-term state Del. Dan Cox was projected to win the Maryland Republican gubernatorial primary, fending off a challenge from former state Commerce Secretary Kelly Schulz, Gov. Larry Hogan’s (R) preferred candidate. The Associated Press called the race at 11:02 p.m. ET. Cox touted his experience as a state delegate, small businessman and constitutional attorney. The Trump endorsee also previously made a bid for a congressional seat in the state’s 8th Congressional District, later losing to then-state Sen. Jamie Raskin (D).

Hmmm, I keep hearing that MAGA is going out of style. It's funny the left said that about El Rushbo for years and his ratings never faltered.

The trick in far left Maryland is to win in November. But, good job winning the primary!

The Dems ran an attack ad against Cox claiming he was too conservative for Maryland. I know I was one of many people who thanked them - for letting us know Cox was exactly who we wanted! Outside of the Baltimore-Washington corridor, Maryland is very conservative. It's the overwhelming number of Gimmedats in that area that turn the state Dem.

I believe that ad #5 was exactly why the contest for the Republican candidate wasn't even close. That, and the fact that Hogan's candidate ran ads claiming that because she was pregnant at 19, she would make a better governor than anyone else.

And the Red Ribbon for second in Maryland's Gubernatorial Race goes to... Dan Cox. Doesn't matter who his opponent will be. Hogan won't lift a finger. His substantial "weight" was behind Schulz, and he couldn't get her across the line a winner...not even close. Franchot is currently a distant third in the Democrat race. He should've run as a Republican to have any chance. Why MD conservatives back this rapacious clown is beyond me.

On June 28, Illinois held its gubernatorial primary election, which featured several Republican candidates, including Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, State Senator Darren Bailey, and political outsider Jesse Sullivan. Irvin, a popular local official who happens to be black, had been the favorite among the GOP candidates. But a funny thing happened in the months leading up to the vote. When the ballots were tallied, Irvin ended up in third place, well behind Bailey and the upstart Sullivan.

Joey Chestnut acknowledged Tuesday he doesn’t “feel too great” a day after hoovering up 63 hot dogs while cruising to victory in the annual Nathan’s Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest — but downplayed the post-binge bloat, saying it’s similar to the routine soreness other athletes experience. “I probably smell like meat,” the 38-year-old quipped to the hosts of NBC’s “Today.” “I don’t feel too great, but it’s like anything, a marathon runner doesn’t feel too great after a marathon,” added the perennial champion of chomp. “It will take me a day and a half to recover.”

An American undersea explorer discovered the world's deepest shipwreck ever identified, four miles below the surface of the Pacific Ocean, CNN reports. On Wednesday, Victor Vescovo, the founder of exploration company Caladan Oceanic, used a deep-diving submersible to locate and identify the USS Destroyer Escort Samuel B. Roberts (DE-413), known as the "Sammy B," at a depth of 6,895 meters (22,621 feet) in the Philippine Sea. Sammy B sank in the Battle Off Samar on October 25, 1944, when it was outnumbered and outgunned by Japanese battleships.

Despite President Biden saying he opposes the “defund the police” movement, at least four of its proponents have met with top administration officials at the White House since he took office, according to a new report. Fox News, citing a review of visitor logs, reported Monday that Rashad Robinson, the president of left-wing group Color of Change, visited the executive mansion in the summer of 2021. The outlet added that Robinson appeared to have met with Cedric Richmond, who at the time was Biden’s director of public engagement.

Last Tuesday, RedState reported on two desperate filings put forth by Hillary for America and Fusion GPS. They attempted to assert attorney-client privilege over materials that John Durham’s prosecution of Michael Sussmann is seeking to get its hands on. That left the obvious question open, though. How could Sussmann both simultaneously assert that he was acting on his own accord and not being paid by the Hillary campaign while at the same time having Hillary for America and Fusion GPS assert attorney-client privilege over their communications?

Seattle’s crime surge spreads statewide thanks to Democrats’ progressive policies. Thanks to a Democratic legislature that codified the radical defund police proposals into laws, plus light-on-crime judges, the crime surge hitting Seattle is spreading across the state. And there is no sign that the crime explosion will slow; in fact, it’s getting worse. Seattle has averaged more than one homicide a week so far this year. Gun violence has nearly doubled, with 95% more shots fired and a 171% increase in gunshot victims compared to last year. Drug dealing is rampant, homeless shoplifters are destroying local businesses, and random, brutal assaults are all too common.

President Biden received hundreds of thousands of “excess” votes in Democratic-controlled areas in the 2020 election, according to an academic study on voter fraud that suggests the push to relax voting standards created new opportunities for electoral mischief. John R. The president stopped short of issuing a national climate emergency, but said he would use executive powers to address the issue. “As president I’ll use my executive powers to combat climate crisis in the absence of Congressional action,” Biden added.

Long-time political strategist Dick Morris, formerly of the Clinton camp before coming to the light some years ago, penned a piece for Newsmax yesterday that predicted a 2016 rematch pitting twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton against former president – and America’s most popular politician – Donald Trump. Clinton just can’t give it a rest. She has rested her entire legacy on one day sitting in the Oval Office as this nation’s first female president. Of course, her party can’t define the term “woman” anymore, and then there’s the fact that she hates this country and most of the deplorables living in it.

What polls there have been indicate as much, as does CNN's Harry Enten. On Friday, what looks to be the most comprehensive poll yet was released, and it shows Cheney going down. The poll comes from the Casper-Star Tribune and was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy. Hageman has 52 percent support, while Rep. Cheney has 30 percent. No other candidate has more than 5 percent. Just 11 percent are undecided.

Elisjsha Dicken, the 22-year-old who saved countless lives on Sunday after neutralizing a mass shooter with his handgun, is by all sane measures a true hero in a country that desperately needs one. But since his heroic actions contradict the carefully-cultivated left-wing narrative, a number of prominent voices have immediately risen up to demonize the young man. Case in point: the majority of the hosts on ABC’s “The View,” whose considered opinion is that Dicken just got “very lucky,” and was probably as bad as the mass shooter since he “broke the law” when he carried his gun into the mall. It all started, naturally, with co-host Joy Behar,

As the United States continues to come to grips with the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, I cannot stop thinking about how the court used a legal system built entirely by men to diminish women — once again — into nothing more than a vessel for producing babies. I am a rabbi in a legal system that excluded women for thousands of years, much like the legal system that the Supreme Court relied on in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. But unlike the American legal system, the Jewish tradition, in certain respects, including abortion, found a way to craft laws grounded in equal dignity for women.

In the past fifty years, we’ve had precisely ten different First Ladies in America. Some of them spent their time in the White House mostly under the radar, with Rosalynn Carter and both Laura and Barbara Bush falling into this category. Others such as Nancy Reagan with her fondness for astronomy and Betty Ford with her personal challenges were somewhat quirkier, but they were likeable and mostly unremarkable. Both Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama could be outspoken and controversial, but at least they were mostly clever and competent. And then we have Jill Biden. The adage “opposites attract” may be true in some cases,
