A suspected robber was shot and killed over the weekend by his intended victim who had his own weapon, Houston police said. The robbery occurred around 10:30 p.m. when a man was leaving an ATM. Another man tried to rob him and the victim pulled out a gun, Fox Houston reported. Both men fired their weapons. The suspect was struck once and authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. The news outlet said the shooter remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. In June, another Texas gun owner defended himself against when he shot a teenage would-be robber in Austin.

Comments:

There have been a lot of these stories lately. Sounds like more people are waking up and arming themselves.

Armed citizens are the true first responders. How long would it have been for LEOs to respond to a 911 call? By the time LEOs responded the man at the ATM machine would have been the casualty. The perp is now assuming room temperature.

Armed robbery is dangerous work. Unless all assault guns are taken away from the population, robbers might get themselves killed by one of their victims. Crime's not supposed to be that dangerous. Hit a lick and flee. It's not supposed to be "hit a lick and die with a friendly bullet in your eye.."

Great job! The only true justice is achieved when an innocent person with a gun kills the sub-human criminal during the commission of a violent felony. Thankfully, this particular criminal sub-human won't be entering our atrocious, beyond pathetic, panty-waist, criminal friendly, hug a thug, criminal injustice system. And, where the criminal sub-human would havebeen given a sleazy, morally challenged, cretinous defense attorney at our expense, who would then lie, whine and cry on behalf of the sub-human that it should not be responsible for its own actions. "But your honor my client should be excused from its crime because it wee-weed in its pants when it was 9 years old." The sub-human would have been sentenced to 1/10 the amount of time it should have received by some liberal judge, and it would have been released early by some idiot parole board, and, while in prison, it would have been taught by other criminal sub-humans how to be a better criminal. Once released, the sub-human would have started maiming and terrorizing other innocent people and the whole cycle would have started all over again until it was killed by some innocent person with a gun. Think I'm overreacting? Here's an interesting and totally depressing statistic from https://www.prisonlegalnews.org/.../long-term-recidivism.../ which states --"Two reports on long-term recidivism among prisoners released from state and federal prisons showed very high arrest rates. The rate for state prisoners was 83% over a nine-year study period, while it was 39.8% for nonviolent and about 64% for violent federal prisoners over an eight-year period."

It’s another heartwarming story of the underdog- taken by surprise- regrouping to defeat his tormentor. Remember the story from the 1980s (? Earlier?) about the subway rider who shot several hooligans who were threatening him? They call the handgun the equalizer.

RE #7. Your information shows that two out of three violent offenders will be rearrested over an eight year period, presumably for another violent crime. This proves that killing a violent attacker during the commission a violent crime is doing a great good, preventing future violent crimes. Half of all states now have Constitutional Carry, where any adult who can legally own a firearm may carry it for self defense, not permit required. The young man who stopped the killings in the Indianapolis area mall didn't have a government permit, he was carrying under his 2nd Amendment rights to "keep and bear arms". And in Indiana, Constitutional Carry had only been recognized for 17 days at that point. Kudos to the Indiana legislature, and the governor. They created the legal environment where those people could be saved.

CHARLESTON, South Carolina -- Inside the Allegiance Flag Company's facilities, it is hard not to notice that the employees making the flags reflect the beauty and diversity that has always been the promise and purpose of our country. They use their skills to make American flags in America, perfectly encapsulating the three young owners' mission in starting this company. In short, they set out to make a flag where every stitch, hem and thread would be made in the United States. And they've done it. Owners Katie and Wes Lyon and their childhood friend Max Berry said it was an idea that came from lots of late-night conversations.

White House Steward Joe Biden's Middle Eastern tour is blessedly over. It was an embarrassment. You can see why his team didn't want to tack this trip onto his last outing to Ukraine a few months ago. He would've probably collapsed from exhaustion. Biden is old, and the liberal media is finally noticing. I don't know what took them so long; The New York Times has been especially brutal on this front. He begged for more oil in Saudi Arabia. He reportedly didn't even bring up the death of Jamal Khashoggi, though he said he did. I still think he forgot. Yet, let's circle back to his trip with Palestinians.

The poll comes from the Casper-Star Tribune and was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy. Hageman has 52 percent support, while Rep. Cheney has 30 percent. No other candidate has more than 5 percent. Just 11 percent are undecided.

We have had a tremendous victory here in New York: a Supreme Court Judge has struck down Governor Kathy Hochul’s forced quarantine regulation! On July 8, 2022, Judge Ronald Ploetz ruled that the “Isolation and Quarantine Procedures” regulation is unconstitutional and “violative of New York State law as promulgated and enacted, and therefore null, void and unenforceable as a matter of law.” Shockingly, New York’s Governor, Kathy Hochul, and Attorney General, Letitia James, plan to appeal the decision. Yes, that’s right…the Governor and AG, both unabashedly support quarantine camps! One would think that this fact, in and of itself, would be disturbing enough

The jewels were last seen at a trade show at the San Mateo event center last weekend. They were stolen out of a Brink’s truck in Northern Los Angeles County. Never doubt the ability of the anti-gun left to twist themselves into knots to defend their nonsensical agenda, and sure enough, that’s happening after a good guy with a gun dropped a mass shooter in Indiana. As RedState reported on Sunday evening, a man entered a mall in Greenwood Park, IN, opening fire and killing three people. Before he could continue his rampage though, a “good samaritan,” as described by the police, used a concealed pistol to take the shooter out. But while most celebrated, that ending was very inconvenient for the narrative of those who, just hours earlier, had been using a report out of Uvalde, TX,

Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAiD) law is already the most permissive euthanasia and assisted-suicide legislation in the world. Understandably controversial in itself, there are many horror stories surrounding its implementation. For example, as lifesitenews.com recently reported, A 71-year-old widower was admitted to a Southwestern Ontario hospital after a fall. His family says during his admission he contracted an infectious diarrheal illness. He was humiliated by staff for the smell of his room, his family said. He developed a new shortness of breath that was not comprehensively assessed. In this context, a hospital team member suggested he would qualify for MAiD.

One of the things that most bothers me about the “Never Trumpers” is their obsession with the man. I get that they don’t like him – fine, don’t have him over for dinner – but they seemingly wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat screaming his name. Everything, in their minds, is about him and they can’t stand it or shut up about it; it’s beyond their control. The same is true, though in a different way, of the radical left. They have this uncontrollable compulsion to be as far-left as a drum circle in San Francisco, even when it damages their cause.

But since his heroic actions contradict the carefully-cultivated left-wing narrative, a number of prominent voices have immediately risen up to demonize the young man. Case in point: the majority of the hosts on ABC’s “The View,” whose considered opinion is that Dicken just got “very lucky,” and was probably as bad as the mass shooter since he “broke the law” when he carried his gun into the mall. As the United States continues to come to grips with the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. I am a rabbi in a legal system that excluded women for thousands of years, much like the legal system that the Supreme Court relied on in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. But unlike the American legal system, the Jewish tradition, in certain respects, including abortion, found a way to craft laws grounded in equal dignity for women.

Both Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama could be outspoken and controversial, but at least they were mostly clever and competent. And then we have Jill Biden.
