Illinois State Police (ISP) are investigating mob violence against a trooper that happened early Sunday in Chicago. The incident happened just prior to 2:00 a.m. at Division Street and Elston Avenue, ISP said in a social media post on Tuesday: An ISP trooper was driving southbound on I-90 near Division St. and noticed congestion on the exit ramp and eastbound traffic on Division completely stopped. When the trooper approached the intersection of Division and Elston there were several vehicles blocking the intersection and people engaging in reckless driving stunts. Vice President Kamala Harris would defeat Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a hypothetical 2024 presidential match-up, according to a new poll, but the race would be extremely close.
A poll from the Harvard University Center for American Political Studies (CAPS) has found that Harris enjoys 39 support to the Republican governor's 37 percent in a theoretical contest. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has tested positive for COVID, his office said Sunday. “As a part of his regular testing regimen, Leader Schumer received a positive test result for COVID-19,” said Angelo Roefaro, a spokesman for the Democrat senator from New York.
Schumer, 71, is fully vaccinated, double boosted and experiencing “very mild symptoms,” according to his office.
