First lady Jill Biden on Monday mispronounced “bodega” during a speech to a Hispanic advocacy group—drawing renewed comparisons to cartoon fellow teacher Peggy Hill. Biden hailed the “bow-get-taas” of The Bronx during a speech in San Antonio, Texas, with such confidence that social media users recalled the “King of the Hill” cartoon character, a substitute teacher in Texas who taught Spanish without being able to correctly say “Español.” The first lady’s pronunciation was closer to that of Colombian capital “Bogotá” than the standard pronunciation “bow-day-guh.” The term bodega in the US refers to a small neighborhood grocery. It originated with New York City’s Puerto Rican

Bodega is a word that has in fact been absorbed by the English language, and she still can't pronounce it?!

I'm surprised she wasn't wearing a sombrero. Glad to see the Hispanic community sees right through this liberal BS. I hope the Black community is taking notes.

Since we now have 62 million people of “latino” descent, one would think she would at least become familiar with Spanish pronunciation, especially since she is Doctor Jill, after all.

Much like W's butchering of the word, "nuclear" as "nuculer." Some people just can't read.

The "First Trollope", I use that honorific because she was "doing" Joe while still married and who knows who else she was "doing". I'm also chagrinned that i must agree with Hunter Biden at least so far as his description of his stepmother.

For those of you not familiar with King of the Hill, the Peggy Hill episode where she winds up on trial in Mexico for kidnapping a little Mexican girl, is one of the funniest moments on TV. I rank it up[ there with the Mary Tyler Moore episode where Chuckles the Clown is killed by an elephant during a parade. Chuckles was wearing a peanut costume, and the elephant shucked him to death. Or the Seinfeld episode, the Bubble Boy.
The Peggy Hill episode must be available somewhere on the internet. I recommend that you find it and watch it..

Which get us back to that whole "Latino culture" thing.
I have never heard a small neighborhood store being calling a "bodega" in San Antonio. Generally, they are called "ice houses" by everyone.
No idea why; it's just one of those things that makes San Antonio unique.
(Another thing about San Antonio. With an ethnic population breakdown of "Hispanic (64.7%) followed by White (24.0%) and Black (6.3%)" from https://www.texas-demographics.com/san-antonio-demographics, San Antonio has the nation's largest Martin Luther King parade every year.)

In case it's hard to locate: substitute Spanish teacher Peggy Hill is tapped to escort children on a field trip into Mexico. A Mexican girl is hustled mistakenly onto the bus trip home. When Peggy goes on trial in Mexico for child abdution, her attempt at representing herself---with her Jill-worthy Spanish!---is hilariously full of malapropisms. Finally, the Judge rules: I find the defendant not guilty. With her miserable command of Spanish, she could not have convinced anyone to do anything. One of King Of The Hills' funniest episodes.
