Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on Thursday was sentenced to 20 years and 5 months for violating George Floyd’s civil rights.
George Floyd died in spring 2020 after Chauvin knelt on his neck for 8 minutes during an arrest. According the medical examiner, Floyd had a “fatal level” of fentanyl in his system at the time of his death.
Chauvin was charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter Chauvin was found guilty on all counts in April 2021.
Chauvin is already serving a 22.5 year sentence for the federal charges. The sentences will be served concurrently, NBC News reported.

Sickening.

Cops should literally find other work. They aren’t allowed to do their jobs. Nothing this officer did was outside of what was acceptable by their own department standards. Another innocent goes behind bars. Disgusting.

Chauvin stood on Floyd's neck with a smirk and let him die. He allowed the incident to be fully video recorded. Then proceeded the Summer of Love and here we are 2 years later. I have no pity for Chauvin.

The officer did NOT cause any harm. The autopsy proved that there was NO injury to the neck, no obstruction of the airway, no asphyxiation. Floyd died of a self inflicted massive drug overdose.
This is a total miscarriage of justice.

The autopsy said his death had NOTHING to do with Chauvin. Why does that not count for anything?

This is nothing more than double jeopardy, suitable for Supreme Court review.

Re #5, that is totally counterfactual.

#5, here's your assignment: Look up the subject of "Excited Delirium Syndrome," then read Floyd's autopsy report and then look up the case of Jacob Bauer of Pleasanton CA who died under the PRECISE conditions in which Floyd died, and every moment of it is on video. Then let's talk again.

This is the second case...time to be served concurrently with the prior case...he won't do any "More" time.
They tried to use his "Legal Lynching" as a way to stop rioting...it didn't... but like everything else, their 1st and only response to a failed endeavor is...Double Down.

Outrageous doesn't even begin to cover this action. Meanwhile, Antifa and BLM escape all punishments because that's the demonrat ideal for transforming our country into a communist paradise.

What a disgusting, disgraceful, communist display of injustice. Floyd died of an overdose period. Officer Chauvin is innocent and is a prisoner of an evil oppressive, warped Justice System. Our country is better off with that violent Ghetto Thug Floyd.

#5, my wish for you is:
Every witness, every media member every prosecutor you encounter forevermore-and I hope those interactions come fast and frequently- is as honest and ethical as those whom ‘judged’ Officer Chauvin.
Ignorance is bliss, and you seem very very happy.

The American Dreyfus?! This unbelievable unfair, to say the least, sentence is a serious shot across the bow of our entire LEO community. Too bad officer Chauvin and his partners weren’t twenty minutes late. Anyways…feel like I’ve been punched in the gut, at least the inhumane and criminal sentences are to be served concurrently.
