in Texas promise swift legal action against

Google has told its workers in the U.S. that they will be allowed to move to another state without having to justify it following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade which removed the constitutional right to abortion. But other companies who plan to help their workers travel across state lines in order to undergo terminations, may face the wrath of lawmakers who are threatening to introduce legislation to block or at least hinder such offers of support. Fiona Cicconi, the company's HR Chief said the company's benefits plan and health insurance would cover 'out-of-state medical procedures

You ;realize, of course, that companies face a greater financial cost providing maternity leave than paying for an abortion trip? Kinda like selling baby parts, idnit?

This is really a step too far. I believe that abortion is wrong but taking legal action to restrict citizens from traveling to a state for a service legal in that state is wrong as well.

Or, as an alternative, people can just practice birth control.

I consider myself to be very modestly liberal socially and fiscally conservative. I've voted a straight Republican ticket since 1984, but this is just wrong. It's one thing for a state to prohibit abortion on their own soil but something entirely different for the state to try to stop residents from going elsewhere to where it is legal. This is trying to claim ownership of the individual and it's this type of garbage that drove so many people into the arms of the left so many decades ago. If the right pushes this it will blow up in their faces and set back the cause of conservatism for decades. The thought of having to vote third party saddens me.

Unlike others, I rather like this provision in our Texas law. Why? Because it will drive half the loony-toon liberals OUT of Austin, Houston, Dallas, etc., to seek safe haven in the Blue, "Abortion-Sanctuary," States where Fetal-Butchery remains hallowed dogma. IOW, if you don't like it, LEAVE. That goes for you too Google.

I don't see why these corporations don't promote birth control more so abortions are not in demand? But on second thought, abortions are really "Bone of Contention", a rallying point. Something that the demoncrat shot callers use to motivate their drones.

I understand this. If you live in a state where gambling is not legal and you go to Vegas where it is. You will be arrested in your home state upon returning. The Texas law will be ruled unconstitutional and the Supreme court will support the ruling.

I support this 100% because concealed carry isn’t honored by all states. If we can’t carry a concealed gun to protect ourselves when traveling out of state, a woman shouldn’t be able to kill her child out of state either. You don’t get it both ways, these liberals want to reap the benefits of living in a red state whilst killing their child elsewhere. They’re skirting the laws so either live in a blue state where killing a baby is legal or make more responsible choices with your sex life.

Insurance does not presently allow for crossing state lines. That was one of the proposals for reducing insurance costs, but I do not think it has happened. Then, states are saying they will pass laws restricting the right to do business in a state of any company that flouts the law against abortions. I hope the states do that. A civil war is brewing being the mandates and compulsory laws of the leftists, that are being imposed on the freedoms of individuals that do not want to live in a communist country. It is time for a confrontation. It is time to return to a federal republic so that the people can choose the laws of their states. Otherwise, there is not going to be a united states.

You might think that students at any university would be thrilled to have a Supreme Court Justice — any Supreme Court Justice — on board as an adjunct law professor, and maybe that would be true in a sane world, but while America in 2022 can be called many things, “sane” is not high on the list. A petition to administrators at George Washington University to fire Justice Clarence Thomas from its law faculty has received over 9,000 signatures, but in a move that is decidedly at odds with campus culture today, the university has adamantly refused to fire Thomas and even defended “the robust exchange of ideas.”

Not since the decade leading up to the Civil War has there been as much discussion about the possibility of the United States splitting into two or more countries as there has been in the past 10 years. The reality is that this nation has effectively split into two countries which are, for the moment, tenuously living side-by-side. Race or ethnicity has been the underlying foundation in the creation of every nation in the history of mankind except the United States, as its founding was based on the tenet that all men are created equal and are endowed with certain unalienable rights that government cannot abrogate.

Inflation is mostly to blame for Biden’s catastrophic approval rating, of course. But I think what Axelrod describes here is an underrated reason for flagging left-wing support. It’s not (just) that his policies aren’t progressive enough. It’s the sense that he doesn’t “fight,” to borrow a term from righty populists. And when he does make a gesture towards fighting, like when he endorsed creating an exception to the filibuster for abortion rights, he’s destined to end up losing that fight. It doesn’t help either that he’s 79 years old. Watch two minutes of Axelrod here, which picks up with him discussing Biden’s call for a filibuster carve-out.
