The Supreme Court on Friday overturned Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that legalized abortion, allowing a Mississippi law passed that bans abortions after 15 weeks to take effect.
“The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote for the 6-3 majority.
The ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization means each state will now be able to determine its own regulations on abortion, including whether and when to prohibit abortion.

We have been hearing about this day for decades. I'm surprised it actually happened. Justice may now prevail.

Yes, Thank God but let's thank President Trump also. Without his getting conservative justices on the Supreme Court, this would not have happened.

No, #2, he sided with the conservatives this time. It was a 6-3 ruling, with Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan dissenting.

The war continues. Only the battlefield has changed. Roe stole our prerogatives to decide about abortion by falsely claiming abortion was a constitutional right. Up until now our neighbors never had to know how we felt on this issue because the Supremes had taken it out of our hands. But now it has become ever more important that we take a public stand against the murder of children in the womb. The fight is on.

#2 - Roberts sided with the majority. The decision states, "ROBERTS, C. J., filed an opinion concurring in the judgment." The three dissents are the usual suspects: BREYER, SOTOMAYOR, and KAGAN.

Thank you for correcting me -- I see that the article states 6-3, but another article I read didn't list him as those who had joined the opinion, so I wasn't sure which was correct. So, I am very HAPPY to stand corrected!

Praise God!
And thank God for President Trump, and his doggedness in appointing these justices. These justices, and their families, for whom we must now pray God's protection.

Isn’t it interesting that the two lesbians on the court voted to keep legal a procedure which they have never and will ever need?

Roberts did vote with the majority, but had to put a slap in through his comments. He's a weasel.

Everyone missed it. All it did was put it in the states hand. You got red and you got blue. Want an abortion go to a blue state.

Roe was possibly the worst SC decision since Dred Scot, totally without constitutional basis. Created a "Constitutional right" out of thin air.

It's too bad that the crazies on the left won't stop for a moment and consider the reality now. And the reality is that the voters of every state will now be able to vote for exactly the type of policy they want to live with. If you want to have a pro-choice policy, you can live in a blue state and nobody is going to bother you. If you want to have a pro-life policy, you can live in a pro-life state and nobody will bother you likewise. Whether you agree with this or not, it shows the genius of the concept of a republic where each state can decide on its laws and lifestyles, and everyone can find at least one state that aligns with their life choices and not be bothered by those that don't agree with them.
Live in peace, and let live in peace. Couldn't be simpler.

I believe that Roberts voted against this until he could not persuade the conservative Justices to change their vote. Then he switched.
