Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) took a shot at Senate Minority Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday for his controversial vote with Republicans last week to avert a government shutdown. Pelosi, during a press conference in San Francisco, affirmed that she had confidence in Schumer’s ability to lead the Democratic caucus in the Senate going forward, but argued that the Brooklyn Democrat made too many concessions to Republicans when he abruptly announced that he would vote to advance the GOP-crafted government funding bill. “I myself don’t give away anything for nothing,” Pelosi said. “I think that’s what happened the other day.”

She's senile. What he did was not drag his party into a stupid tds government shutdown fight that would have hurt her party and gained them nothing, I loathe and despise Schumer but he definitely made the right political call on this one. Pelosi's blind hatred and bad decision making has critically injured her party for a generation or more. Having lost tens of billions in tax dollars being spent on their agenda every yesr through scam government programs they may never recover. Her dumb decisions for years are the biggest gift she could have given the rest of us.

I apologize for being a history nerd and apologize for any boredom and eye-rolling my post may cause but I do want to reflect on #10’s comment about Marie Antoinette. I once wrote a thesis exploring her fall from grace and Pelosi is even worse than #10’s comparison. A big part of MA’s problem was that she found denizens of Versailles, particularly the old women, overly stylized in their manners and customs and utterly ridiculous. Just a teenager herself and raised in the comparatively informal court of Marie Therese in Vienna, MA laughed about them behind their backs, especially at Louis XV’s aunts. MA’s young “friends” in the court made sure her every snide comment was duly reported to the rest of the court behind her back. The courtiers never forgot and made MA pay for criticizing the whole ridiculous pantomime and sham that was life at Versailles by lying about and turning against her before and during her time of greatest need. I see Pelosi as the queen bee of hideous courtiers - vicious, ruthless, greedy for power and prestige, destructive, petty and ultimately worthless. I argue that Capitol Hill is her Versailles and Trump is the rep of the common man who wants to take the whole facade of her power apart and give it back to the people. MA was not a saint but she probably would have smiled at Trump’s agenda behind her fan.

An FBI agent and whistleblower critical of the bureau dating back to President Trump’s first term was arrested this week at JFK Airport and charged with illegally disclosing classified intel when he circulated his draft of a book, according to court docs. Johnathan Buma, who worked in counterintelligence, was taken into custody Monday just as he was about to hop on an international flight — and slapped with charges the following day alleging he printed confidential materials from the FBI and then shared the trove with associates in 2023, authorities said.

Another Donald Trump presidential term, another spate of violence going largely ignored — or even smirked at — by Democrats and their media friends. Tesla dealerships are being firebombed and shot at, while Tesla vehicles are vandalized and their owners assaulted. Trump-supporting influencers are getting “swatted,” set up for dangerous police encounters by opponents who phone in hoax distress calls. Relatives of Trump-aligned public figures — including the sister of US Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett and Elon Musk’s brother — are receiving bomb threats. This cannot go on.

The Trump administration finally nabbed an immigration activist who ran from federal agents for years and hid in churches where she was shielded from arrest. Jeanette Vizguerra, a 53-year-old Mexican mom of four, was once named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People for hiding from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in a Colorado church. After years of chasing her down, ICE finally got their hands on Vizguerra Monday when she was in the parking lot of the Target store in Denver where she worked, according to Jordan Garcia, another immigrant-rights activist, told the New York Times.

Twenty years ago, maybe even ten, I’d have found stories about the administration cutting grants to universities and detonating thousands of campus-related jobs horrifying. But the education sob stories now flying off the presses have a gigantic lie of omission. Take Johns Hopkins. NBC News was one of many to highlight the “grave consequences” the new administration’s policies have had on the famed institution, noting “the changes will also have an economic impact in Baltimore because the university is the largest private employer in Maryland.” NBC pointed out that “about half of Johns Hopkins’ funding last year came from federal research dollars,

I think a lot of people are chomping at the bit for the Kennedy and Epstein files. So when "Full Measure" host Sharyl Attkisson interviewed President Donald Trump, she knew she had to ask that question. Bondi said she hadn't been provided all the Epstein files from the NY FBI field office when there was a big controversy about releasing old, incomplete information. But then she demanded they turn over the rest of it. The last word was that they'd turned over a "truckload of information" that she believed was all the information on March 3.

The issue of Canada becoming the 51st state arose from a conversation in Mar-a-Lago between Prime Minister Trudeau and U.S President Donald Trump. As Secretary of State Marco Rubio outlined, Trudeau said if President Trump was to make the Canadian government pay reciprocal tariffs, open the USMCA trade agreements to force reciprocity, and/or balance economic relations on non-tariff issues, then Canada would collapse and cease to exist. In essence, Canada cannot survive as a free and independent north American nation, without receiving all the one-way benefits from the U.S. economy. To wit, President Trump then said, if Canada cannot survive in a balanced rules environment,

On Saturday, we learned that Donald Trump had invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport violent members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA). Shortly after that, an Obama-appointed activist judge said not so fast and ordered for planes carrying these criminals to turn around. As Matt Margolis wrote earlier, "Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, apparently more concerned with the rights of foreign criminals than American safety, issued a temporary restraining order against Trump's use of the Alien Enemies Act. This centuries-old law has been successfully used by multiple presidents to protect our nation from genuine threats."
