After more than nine months in space, two NASA astronauts finally returned to Earth, touching down in the Gulf of America. Their extended mission, which was initially intended to last for only two weeks, saw them endure the challenges of living in space far beyond their expected timeframe. The astronauts faced a series of technical delays and unforeseen complications, but their safe return marks a significant milestone for both the space agency and the astronauts.
Williams and Wilmore returned home aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, which had been docked at the International Space Station since September 2024. The capsule, which was initially used to transport NASA astronaut Nick Hague

This all took place in my front yard, but it was too hazy (and probably a bit too far offshore) for me to see any of it. My house is south of Tallahassee and directly on the Gulf of America. Alas, I had to settle for watching on youtube. Maybe next time...

Successful recovery, successful splashdown. Astronauts returned safely to Earth.
Great day for Elon Musk. Great day for America!
Bad day for Democrats. After a horrible month, horrible year, now this has to happen to them.

I would think they'll need a lot of rehab to strengthen their muscles back to coping with earth's gravity.

I hope NASA lets them talk about how Biden refused to allow Elon to rescue them, causing them to stay away from their families for months.

Thank God that the mission was successful. It was not the same thing as picking your daughter up from school after a gym jam. If anything went wrong I'm sure there would be a portion of the Left dancing in the streets. There is that much hate there.

Glorious. How anyone can hate Elon Musk just confounds me. The man is a visionary and a patriot.🇺🇸

To celebrate, Democrats torched a few more Tesla dealerships and filed a few more restraining orders on Trump and Musk...because they just can't bear to see so much brilliance, competence, and winning compared to their own pathetic inferiority.

I watched the splashdown live. Two women were narrating it. One woman had a laptop with an "X" on it. The other woman had a laptop with "NASA" on it. The woman with the NASA laptop said the astronauts could have been brought back at anytime if there was a need. NASA needs DOGE.

Mazel tov to Elon Musk...who is responsible for the astronaut's return...he said he could do it...and he did it...thank you Elon for your cleverness and ingenuity...wonder how the swamp leftie elites will handle this...they can't blame Elon for being a corrupt billionaire who cares only for himself and his dozen kids...happy there will be so many little Musks for our next generation to rely on....my friend is 13th in his family...and a darling man....

We watched it in the NASA Channel, two very informative ladies one from Space X and one from NASA. We didn't have to listen to the talking head spouting nonsense and irritating commercials.

280 days. 10 months. A list of the possible/probable physical ill effects is daunting. Far more than muscles. Biden darned near murdered them.

I hope Williams and Wilmore will be ok. Their post-mission medical history will be studied closely to help anticipate the post-mission conditions of those who will eventually be going to Mars.
In my opinion, biden the cheater and the dims had to no-go a Musk rescue operation last fall because they had an election to lose and didn't want Trump, Vance, and Musk looking even better because of a daring space station rescue operation that everyone on the planet would see. Yep, TDS again.

This mission should make over 60 people SpaceX has put in orbit and returned safely with a mission cost well below any other company or NASA. Without SpaceX, the USA would not have a space program. Boeing failed and NASA failed.

So awesome to watch!! We saw it live on Fox! After they splashed down, they were greeted by a pod of dolphins that also put on a heck of a show next to them!!
