The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol is pressing pause on its hearings for next week and picking them up again in July. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the chairman of the committee, told reporters Wednesday that the committee would hold off on the two final hearings it had planned for this month. “We’ve taken in some additional information that’s going to require additional work. So rather than present hearings that have not been the quality of the hearings in the past we made a decision to just move into sometime in July,”

Kyle Rittenhouse is funding his lawsuits against the media with a clever video game that takes direct aim at fake news and is sure to massively trigger those on the left.
The video was unveiled on Thursday and gloriously shows a cartoon version of Rittenhouse shooting wide-eyed “fake news turkeys.”
“The media is nothing but a bunch of turkeys with nothing better to do than push their lying agenda and destroy innocent people’s lives,” Rittenhouse proclaimed in a promotional video for the game. It’s appropriately named Kyle Rittenhouse’s Turkey Shoot.

The nation’s highest court correctly held that Maine violated the US Constitution’s First Amendment by excluding religious schools from a tuition assistance program that allows parents to use vouchers to send their children to public or private schools — though three justices disagreed because they misread that history.
Chief Justice John Roberts’ opinion — joined by the five other conservative justices — emphasized the free-exercise clause, which “Maine’s ‘nonsectarian’ requirement for its otherwise generally available tuition assistance payments violates,” he wrote.

Soon after departing, a Jeep slammed into his vehicle as he attempted to cross the highway. He was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, and will head to court on August 3.

A 23-year-old Ohio man was shot and killed while trying to rob a Dollar General store at gunpoint.
Roosevelt Rappley entered the Dayton-area store, produced a firearm, and started demanding money. One of the store clerks was a concealed carry permit holder and was legally armed. Once the suspect pointed his weapon at this clerk, he drew his own weapon and fired, striking the subject in the chest.
Rappley returned fire, hitting no one, before stumbling outside and collapsing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The clerk placed a 9-1-1 call.
