Following the drunk driving arrest of Nancy Pelosi’s husband, a Wednesday New York Times piece exposed new details about the Democratic House Speaker’s lavish lifestyle, as well as her husband's troubled driving record. On May 28, Paul Pelosi drove a small distance in his Porsche 911 from the swanky California estate of friend and Democratic donor Alexander Mehran to his home in Napa Valley. Soon after departing, a Jeep slammed into his vehicle as he attempted to cross the highway. He was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, and will head to court on August 3. The Times called the incident "not especially flattering," but noted Mr. Pelosi’s recent cataract surgery

I can’t access the article due to my ad blockers but I just wanted to point out that cataract surgery generally improves vision, so that’s a completely bogus excuse.

Do you mean troubled alcoholism? Driving while drunk is not what I would call "troubled" driving. It's called driving under the influence, or DUI. It has nothing to do with anything other than his disease and her's as well. They are both alcoholics. Runs in the family.

On Thursday, Joe Biden flashed for the cameras a comical presidential “cheat sheet” that proved just how stage-managed the 79-year-old is by his staff. Besides instructing him to remember to say “hello” and “thank you,” it emphasized basic steps such as “YOU take YOUR seat.” Thanks to a White House mole, The Post was able to smuggle a new cheat sheet into Biden’s jacket pocket when he was taking a quick nap in the Oval Office. Hundreds of angry protesters gathered outside the US Supreme Court building Friday to denounce the historic overturning of Roe v. Wade — as police departments across the country girded for mass unrest after the bitterly contentious ruling. Additional cops — many in riot gear — were brought in to protect the barricaded federal building and keep any mayhem at bay, a scene that played out at burgeoning protests in all major US cities. A throng of protestors chanted “F–k Clarence Thomas!” outside the Supreme Court site Friday afternoon to voice their displeasure with the conservative jurist’s vocal support of Roe v. Wade’s dissolution.

Protesters are planning demonstrations outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on Friday night, after he revealed he now has laws protecting gay marriage, gay sexual activity and contraception in his sights, after axing Roe v. Wade. Following Friday's landmark decision, Thomas called on his fellow jurists to overturn previous rulings that followed similar legal precedent. The prospective law changes, released in a concurring opinion of the decision penned by Thomas, would see limits put on gay marriage, same-sex sexual activity, and citizens' access to birth control.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision allowing states to ban abortion stirred alarm Friday among LGBTQ advocates, who feared that the ruling could someday allow a rollback of legal protections for gay relationships, including the right for same-sex couples to marry. In the court’s majority opinion overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, Justice Samuel Alito said the decision applied only to abortion. But critics of the court’s conservative majority gave the statement no credence. “I don’t buy that at all,” said Lawrence Gostin, a professor of medicine at Georgetown University and faculty director of its Institute for National and Global Health Law.

Where abortion is concerned, Alabama just became a different state — not only compared to its former self, but to other areas of America. Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn 1973’s Roe v. Wade decision guaranteeing a federal right to abortion, Alabama has outlawed the practice — with one exception. The process began in 2019, when Gov. Kay Ivey signed the Alabama Human Life Protection Act. As noted by WBRC, “The law made performing an abortion at any stage of pregnancy a felony unless the mother’s health was in danger. It did not provide any exceptions for rape or incest.” However, a preliminary injunction was imposed against the ban.
