Title IX’s next battle: The rights

When the gender equity legislation known as Title IX became law in 1972, the politics of transgender sports was not even a blip in the national conversation. Today, it is one of the sharpest dividing points in American culture. As the transformational law heads into its second half-century on the books, the Biden administration wants transgender athletes to enjoy the same protections Title IX originally gave to women when it was passed 50 years ago. That stance is at odds with efforts in states across the country. (snip) the Women’s Sports Policy Working Group, which seeks a “middle way” to be inclusive of transgender athletes while also not “forcing”

Comments:

Stop with the “rights” business. All of this assumes that the ability to change one’s sex to the opposite is legitimate; It is not. Biden doesn’t know what he’s doing and the media push it anyway. There is no way that they can come up with anything that will make something based on a fraudulent concept work so that competition is not unfair. They should give it up and recognize that these are either sick men or men who who couldn’t make it competing as biological males.

This recent revision of swimming rules to effectively bar male trannies from competing against the girls is headed into the courts...and that's going to be ugly. Notice the LGBT+++ community is so-far silent in all this. This is really a fight between the lesbian and tranny camps.

If Trans Athletes win the right to compete against Women, eventually, the women will drop out and it will simply become the Transgender League! Why would women even try to compete. We saw what happened when they did, they were roundly beaten, every time, buy a Trans! So, they will simply stop competing! Is that what the Sports World wants to happen?

I'm so sick of seeing the word "gender"!!! We cannot allow the commies to define our language! "Gender" is a grammatical term - - and oddly enough - - English is one of the few languages which doesn't use gender. The correct word is "sex." They are not "transgender" - - they're pretending to be transsexual. They are not "gay" - - they're homosexual. They are not seeking "gender equality" - - they're trying to claim that the sexes are equal. Please don't ever use the word "gender" - - unless you are teaching grammar. Don't let the commies define they way you speak or write!

Rights are for natural sexes, male and female. Not for freaks, except general civil rights applicable to all citizens. If a “right” can be imposed or revoked, it’s not a right, but a privilege.

FTA: “Then, to have the legislature pass a law that singled out me and kids like me to keep us from being part of a team, that crushed me, it hurt very much. I just want to play, like any other kid.” The notion that doctors and nurses make "guesses" and then "assign" a sex is ludicrous. Luc Esquivel was born female and therefore has every right to try out for the female competitions. No one "singled her out" to keep her from being part of a team. What she doesn't get to do is compete on the boys team. She can still learn from them. Just not as a team member.

And do we really expect that real women and their supporters will win in our courts when a soon-to-be Supreme Court member can't even define what a woman is?

Eliminate all gender separations at sports. Let players weed themselves out. Why do we separate them in the first place? (I know why - but why should we continue?)

If 1% of the population can cause such an uproar, just add a third category and put all the transgenders into it and let them figure it out. The rest of the normal males and females can get on with their lives.

There ARE NO TRANSGENDERED people. NONE. Zero. There are a few men pretending to be women, and a few women pretending to be men. Notice that there are no women-pretending-to-be-men who are trying out for ANY of the major sports? I wonder why? Only failed male athletes who are so mentally unstable and desperate for "a win" at ANY COST, who will pretend to be a woman in order to "win".....except it isn't winning, it's cheating. And it's INSANE.

To follow on 3's important point, from M-W dictionary: Engender comes from the Latin verb generare, which means "to generate" or "to beget." Generate, regenerate, degenerate, and generation are of course related to the Latin verb as well. As you might suspect, the list of engender relatives does not end there. Generare comes from the Latin noun genus, meaning "birth," "race," or "kind." From this source we have our own word genus, plus gender, general, and generic, among other words. Most peoples of the planet love their native language and those that utilize gendered nouns are no exception. That, I think, is the major reason why Latinx is not acceptable to most Hispanics.

No one has lost any rights, male athletes still have the right to compete, against other male athletes. A mature person learns to deal with life's disappointments if they don't make the team or win in their chosen sport, they don't claim to be a woman to better their odds.

Nearly three-fourths of National Institutes of Health (NIH) grantees fail to properly report their researchers’ ties to foreign countries and companies, according to an investigation by the Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General (HHS-IG). “More than two-thirds of grantees failed to meet one or more requirements for investigators’ disclosure of all foreign financial interests and support. These problems often involved requirements to disclose non-publicly traded equity interests from foreign entities and to disclose in-kind resources, professional affiliations, or participation in a foreign ‘talents’ program,” reads the HHS-IG report, which was made public earlier in June.

A White House official on June 20 made a false claim about COVID-19 vaccines while encouraging parents to get their young children vaccinated. Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House’s COVID-19 response coordinator, said that “there have not been any serious side effects of these vaccines,” which is not true. Severe allergic reactions, blood clotting, heart inflammation, and paralysis are among the serious side effects linked to the three COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States. “There is a well-documented risk of myocarditis from the COVID vaccine, especially in young men and adolescent boys, and an elevated risk of clotting in young women with the Moderna vaccine,” Dr. Jay Bhattacharya,

Congress now has had more prime time committee hearings on the January 6th protest than it did on 9/11. I am not sure just what the purpose of the January 6th hearings are. Americans have turned their attention to inflation and recession. But in Washington, where no one ever gets laid off and no one has to go to work if it snows, the show is the talk of the town. The rest of the country has to work today. DC closed for Juneteenth. The great divide in America is not between lefties and righties. The divide is between the governed and the government. Two reports from Salena Zito(snip)confirm this.

If Americans are “really, really down,” as President Joe Biden suggests, it’s hardly surprising. Many key aspects of economic, social and national life that were once viewed as smoothly running certainties are out of joint. The Covid-19 pandemic, though it has eased its deadly grip, has left a complicated legacy of challenges that are still disrupting daily life. Some are aggravations – like the more than 800 airline flights cancelled on Sunday. Others threaten Americans’ economic prospects and sense of safety and wellbeing, like the growing fears of a recession. Such an atmosphere is sure to breed new turmoil in a nation seeing widening ideological divides ahead of midterm elections that

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court seems poised to take on a new elections case being pressed by Republicans that could increase the power of state lawmakers over races for Congress and the presidency, as well as redistricting, and cut state courts out of the equation. The issue has arisen repeatedly in cases from North Carolina and Pennsylvania, where Democratic majorities on the states’ highest courts have invoked voting protections in their state constitutions to frustrate the plans of Republican-dominated legislatures. Already, four conservative Supreme Court justices have noted their interest in deciding whether state courts, finding violations of their state constitutions, can order changes to federal elections
