Michigan Judge Orders GOP Candidate for

Michigan Republican candidate for governor Ryan Kelley will have to surrender his guns while he awaits trial on misdemeanor criminal charges in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach, a judge ruled on June 16. U.S. Magistrate Judge Robin Meriweather made the ruling even as Kelley’s attorney argued he needs to carry a concealed weapon for self-defense as he makes campaign appearances in Michigan, local media reported. The judge also said Kelley can’t leave the state while awaiting trial and must surrender his passport. Kelley is “a bit of a high-profile candidate in Michigan” as recent polls showed that he was the front-runner among GOP gubernatorial candidates,

Comments:

Kelley did not enter the Capitol Building on Jan. 6. Was somewhere nearby apparently. So political, it reeks…has to give up his passport, etc. Will this actually help his candidacy?

If I lived in Michigan, I would work my a$$ off to get him elected. I might send his campaign a check anyway. He should campaign on this perfect example of oppressive Democrat government and their trumped up charges. The 2nd Amendment was made the law of the land so citizens had the ability to put down oppressive government and here we have another example of why Democrats want our guns. They want his guns and passport as though he will shoot someone and flee to Brazil. He is running for governor of Michigan, for Hell's sake!

The Democrats already got rid of two or three Republican challengers to Gov. Whitmer using the courts before the primaries. Now they are getting really creative with Kelley. Didn't they also call the campaign manager of another Republican candidate (Iowa?) as a Jan 6 witness. The Democrats have weaponized the judiciary and the January 6 Committee to help in the mid-term elections. They are afraid and desperately trying to cling on to power.

A White House official on June 20 made a false claim about COVID-19 vaccines while encouraging parents to get their young children vaccinated. Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House’s COVID-19 response coordinator, said that “there have not been any serious side effects of these vaccines,” which is not true. Severe allergic reactions, blood clotting, heart inflammation, and paralysis are among the serious side effects linked to the three COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States. “There is a well-documented risk of myocarditis from the COVID vaccine, especially in young men and adolescent boys, and an elevated risk of clotting in young women with the Moderna vaccine,” Dr. Jay Bhattacharya,

Congress now has had more prime time committee hearings on the January 6th protest than it did on 9/11. I am not sure just what the purpose of the January 6th hearings are. Americans have turned their attention to inflation and recession. But in Washington, where no one ever gets laid off and no one has to go to work if it snows, the show is the talk of the town. The rest of the country has to work today. DC closed for Juneteenth. The great divide in America is not between lefties and righties. The divide is between the governed and the government. If Americans are “really, really down,” as President Joe Biden suggests, it’s hardly surprising. Many key aspects of economic, social and national life that were once viewed as smoothly running certainties are out of joint. The Covid-19 pandemic, though it has eased its deadly grip, has left a complicated legacy of challenges that are still disrupting daily life. Some are aggravations – like the more than 800 airline flights cancelled on Sunday. Others threaten Americans’ economic prospects and sense of safety and wellbeing, like the growing fears of a recession. Such an atmosphere is sure to breed new turmoil in a nation seeing widening ideological divides ahead of midterm elections that

When the gender equity legislation known as Title IX became law in 1972, the politics of transgender sports was not even a blip in the national conversation. Today, it is one of the sharpest dividing points in American culture. That stance is at odds with efforts in states across the country. WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court seems poised to take on a new elections case being pressed by Republicans that could increase the power of state lawmakers over races for Congress and the presidency, as well as redistricting, and cut state courts out of the equation. The issue has arisen repeatedly in cases from North Carolina and Pennsylvania, where Democratic majorities on the states’ highest courts have invoked voting protections in their state constitutions to frustrate the plans of Republican-dominated legislatures. Already, four conservative Supreme Court justices have noted their interest in deciding whether state courts, finding violations of their state constitutions, can order changes to federal elections

This week, Hillary Clinton dispelled the rumors that she might be running for presidential office again in 2024. He certainly intends to run. It would be very disruptive to challenge that.” Clinton made her failed bid for President in 2016 and unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008.
