We must make America great again! There is no reader of this column who can possibly be unfamiliar with any of these lines. All Republican voters are accustomed to hearing them incessantly from Republican politicians and their conservative media apologists.

The big difference between donkeys and elephants is that once in power, the donkeys know exactly what to do with it. The elephants, on the other hand, are content to do nothing during their infrequent periods at the controls. President Trump is the greatest President this nation has seen and the GOP for the most part knifed him in the back. Gutless wonders.

"they deserve not a single vote" And WHO should we vote for instead? This article may indeed be truthful but it is way short on SOLUTIONS and silent on EXECUTION of those solutions. Without those critical pieces, it is just whining. The reality is, a political solution, within the confines of the existing political structure is impossible. Why? Because the People have abdicated their responsibilities as citizens. WE are in charge of our government. It is insufficient to simply vote and expect the elected officials to get things done. We the People need to get ACTIVELY and CONTINUALLY involved in the governing process. We need to make our voices heard at every turn and let the government officials KNOW that that they are being watched carefully and WILL be held accountable for their actions. This will require Conservatives to do something they abhor, to get involved with government. In general, Conservatives have the attitude that government should do the least possible and leave the rest to individuals, business, and private groups. If government is a small beast, confined to it's pen and a well defined purpose, that may be possible. Government is now a large rampaging beast that does not understand it's boundaries. It is like a very big, poorly trained dog, that has ripped up the house and yard and growls at everyone, intimidating and scaring them. Is it not the OWNER that is responsible for training their dog? If the dog is running rampant is it not the OWNER that needs to manage him? We the People have become like visitors to a house where the dog that we have NOT trained is running out of control. The rules (a Constitution?) are posted on the walls of the house but no one has explained them to the dog by constant enforcement. Thus we have the beast that does not understand its purpose and is out of control. We the People need to assume control of our government and institutions. Not through guns and "insurrection" but by organizing into groups that are continually active in focusing on simple and clear goals and doing things that retrain our government and institutions into meeting our needs. It could be a LOT of work, perhaps on the scale of a revolution. But if we wait for our government, media, and institutions to free us, we are doomed to being slaves.

It's pretty simple. Trump was President, he DID what he said he would do. We had a good life under Trump's time in Office. THAT is why we should vote for him, or if he choses not to run, Ron DeSantis (who will follow in Trump's footsteps)!!

# 4 Fellow Floridian, I really don't think Governor Ron is interested in going national in '24 (could be wrong, of course). We need to keep our options open and be willing to take a look at other promising possibilities, such as Mike Pompeo and Tom Cotton.

Vote Republican, but the only reason is because Reagan and Trump rose up through Republicans ranks. Who have the Democrats given us? Bill Clinton and Barack Obama? No thanks. Sadly, the question posed by the article is largely irrelevant. Seriously doubt our founding fathers intended our government to work the way it does today. Thieves, tyrants, and thugs are allowed to hold office and have a say in our government. We are supposed to have a system of checks and balances, but it is not working. How else do you explain the erosion of our wealth, rights, freedoms, and rule of law. Thieves take our wealth. Tyrants take our rights and freedoms. Thugs overturn the rule of law for their own protection. Our representative system of government needs repairing. Until those problems are fixed, nothing else can be fixed. For the most part, we will continue to send people to government that should not be there.

When you vote for the lesser evil, you still end up with evil. The solution is to turn to God, family and friends. Be self-reliant, thus less dependent on Government. Stay out of debt. That big house and fancy car will not give you true happiness. A good spouse, happy children and a loving God is your true salvation. A rich, wonderful life is really that simple.

This sounds like the solicitation e-mails that I get from the RNC every day. I would like to get my hands around the throat of the overzealous RNC nerd who sent my e-mail address to every republican politician in the country. Why exactly are we doomed if Marco Rubio does not get his seat back? Why does Nikki Haley deserve my vote after she smeared Donald Trump? Why does Mike Pence think he can show his face before a microphone anywhere in the country? Some republicans are true conservatives and deserve to keep their jobs, others not so much.

You must drink one of two glasses of water. There is no avoiding taking that glass and drinking every last drop of it. Do you want the water that is known to contain a deadly poison or the funky-tasting, cloudy water that certainly has some contamination? Waiting for cold mountain spring water is not an option. What's it gonna be?

I adore President Trump and will vote for him again in a heartbeat, if he decides to run. But, he has made some mistakes, and one of them was not taking advantage of the momentum after The Big Steal to form a 3rd political party. It’s the single thing that would have shown these GOP establishment rat b***adds that we have had enough and we mean business.

Republicans are every bit as corrupt as the democrats. The difference is the Repubicans are complete cowards. They refuse to govern when they can, they fear angering the democrats and about the only time they emerge from under their desks is with their hands out to the donors, and for photo ops with local civic groups. They drive us toward the same cliff, they just drive a little slower is all. Trump tried to fix it and was nearly destroyed for his trouble. I fear the answer is not on election day and not from within the party.

There is no UNIPARTY...believing that leads to the question Kerwick asks. If you believe the Republican Party and its politicians matter, where's your proof? The BEST they do is confirm Supreme Court justices (and "real conservatives" complain about the squishy GOP crop on the court since Roberts). A few make noise here and there, but they are dismissed by media and public when no one stands with them in raising the point. Conservatives "conserve". They essentially try to block the road, if not turn traffic back. Exactly what is the "conservative" program for America? To make America great AGAIN. How is another matter. The other elephant for those who are wound up in the '20 "selection" is the six upset state REPUBLICAN legislatures, none of which did a damn thing to ensure the vote was right before Biden electors were confirmed and sent to DC. Explain that...six states...six upsets...nothing. The best Republican politicians at the national level do is retard the advance of liberalism by taking "steps in the right direction" and "doing the best we could" (in the immortal words of Mitch McConnell after every sellout) after "negotiations". Funny how those compromises never seem to favor the conservative position...which usually was once the liberal position. There is no UNIPARTY...

I don't vote republican, even if I'm registered with that party. I vote for individuals that I approve of. I have voted Democrat, though not for decades, now, because I haven't approved of any Democrats running for office, in recent years. Try to take the time to study the candidates, their positions, and the positions of their parties. Examine whether they've made a career out of politics. If they have, no matter what they say, unless they've been exceptional, take 'em out in the primaries. Long term political office means they are probably NOT what they say they are.

This should be a Must Read, not only for those of us who visit Lucianne .com daily but more importantly for every Republican aspiring to public office. If I had my way I would have the headline tattooed on the foreheads of Ronna Romney McDaniel, Karl Rove or anyone else who tells me that if I just pass a few dollars and my vote to the Republicans the world will be a happy place. No. I voted for the Bushes, Dole McCain and Romney. After all they were the lesser of the two evils, but the evil we are facing just seemed to grow stronger with every compromise the Republicans made withe the left wing of the uniparty. I am looking forward to a Red tsunami in November but I pray that both parties learn a hard lesson from it.

I fully agree with THIS part of the article: ~~ "We could continue endlessly in this same repetitive vein. Why is it that the identity of the person who leaked the Supreme Court document indicating the overturning of Roe v. Wade still hasn’t been revealed? Will Republicans, assuming they regain power, make sure that the leaker, along with those gathered outside of justices’ homes for the express purpose of threatening them and their families, are exposed as the “threats to Our Democracy™” and “insurrectionists” that they are and punished accordingly?"~~ The identity should be known by now!!!

Bipartisan investigations are a rarity in Washington, D.C. The constituencies likely to be affected or to suffer collateral damage are usually enough to derail them from gaining momentum. Affix the term “disinformation” to the claim in need of investigation and the chances of a genuine inquiry plummet from hardly ever to "forget about it." One day historians will look back at the period beginning with the COVID lockdowns of spring 2020 through the midterm elections of 2022 to understand how America for over two years lost its collective mind and turned into something unrecognizable and antithetical to its founding principles. “Sovietization” is perhaps the best diagnosis of the pathology. It refers to the subordination of policy, expression, popular culture, and even thought to ideological mandates. Ultimately such regimentation destroys a state since dogma wars with and defeats meritocracy, creativity, and freedom.

My friend a podcast partner Kale Zelden, a Catholic, has an interesting Twitter thread about how troubled he is by Pope Francis’s recent acts, and what it says about the direction of the Catholic Church. It begins here: Kale talks about how, as a younger man, he was so inspired by the figure of John Paul II, and the solid rock of Truth his papacy, and the Roman church, represented. Now, though, Francis continues to repudiate so much of JP2’s legacy, and not only that, but magisterial Catholic teaching. More:

Gertrude Stein famously warned that it was important to know how far to go when going too far. It pains me to admit that Democrats seem to have a far better sense of all that than do Republicans. Perhaps it’s because Democrats have a visceral appreciation of William Hazlitt’s observation that “those who lack delicacy hold us in their power.” The Democrats, that is to say, long ago became expert at the game of holding their opponents to standards that they themselves violate not just with impunity but with ostentatious glee

Unfortunately, one would be wrong. For the past two years, government animal testing has been at the center of the free speech debate that’s reached a boiling point in the United States. Big Tech and Big Media companies have weaponized “fact checks,” sensitive content warnings, and advertising bans to muzzle us and cast doubt on our findings—even when our investigations are demonstrably and self-evidently true.
