The Wuhan lab leak theory reappraised

Bipartisan investigations are a rarity in Washington, D.C. The constituencies likely to be affected or to suffer collateral damage are usually enough to derail them from gaining momentum. Affix the term “disinformation” to the claim in need of investigation and the chances of a genuine inquiry plummet from hardly ever to "forget about it." Such is the current trajectory of the need to explore the origin of COVID-19.

No. it. doesn't, It does not need to be reappraised. The Covid virus which originally circulated in China in 2019 is clearly man-made. Period. The Wuhan lab was supported by US dollars to enhance the infectiousness of Covid. Reappraisal? Not needed. What is needed is a an open admission of what is clear but has been hidden. Covid was weaponized - not just by the Chinese but by us. Biden as well as our CDC scientists lied to us because they were compromised. We don't need a reappraisal.

The virus spread rapidly to hundreds of millions of people around the world in less than a year. But somehow not a single case of the virus be found in nature. That alone should answer the question about its origins.

Is it possible that the grand experiment of a coalition of world scientists had to do with the spike protein manufactured to fight Kung Flu? That, in theory, the spike protein would set off immunity and then disappear, but did not? My neurosurgeon said my reaction to the Kung Flu moderna vaccine was one in a million, ultimately resulting in chronic arachnoiditis, an inflammation of the spinal cord, much like polio. I don't attribute my problems to evil, but perhaps to over reaching scientific experiments, and overly ambitious scientists. My concern now is not for myself - at age 83, the time is drawing near for me to depart. my concern is the insanity of giving the vaccine to small children or pregnant women. There is no justification for that. Finally, and somewhat ironically, Mrs. Lakerman, our youngest son, and I all have the Kung Flu, in our tenth day of medication. It is affecting us like a cold would, causing sneezing, coughing, grouchiness. I don't expect it to get worse, but it is an annoyance. And somewhere, deep in my psyche, I hold the little eyetalian, Fauci, to blame. Am I being irrational? Yes, but as the one handed butcher said to Cher in Moonstruck, I ain't no friggin philospher.

NorthernDog has it right. If the bat virus had followed a natural evolutionary pattern there would be evidence of similiar SARS variants in other species in nature reported. Viruses don't just leap to humans without passing through closer species and spreading out over time. If the virus was isolated by humans in Western China and brought to the Wuhan Lab it would explain the gap in intermediate spread with variants.

Thinking that the Wuhan Flu did NOT originate from the Wuhan research facility is a bit like seeing a pool of oil underneath a 1996 Honda Civic and wondering how it could have possibly gotten there...

The virus was created by the Chinese Communists in the Wuhan lab, funded by a Canadian company which was funded by NIH, and specifically tasked with developing a version of the bat virus that could infect humans. Dr. Fauci personally overrode the law which made this kind of dangerous "research" ILLEGAL. The truth, in "Clue" game form, is: "Dr. Fraud, in the Wuhan Lab with a weaponized bat virus."

#1's statement looks to be supported by interviews w/ the lady scientist in the hong kong lab [connected to the deadly who-do-duo tony n ted, iirc] she saw the virus, w/the splice marks, under a microscope in the earliest days. this lady had the credentials to know what she was seeing, and why. hence, she put some info in her purse, grabbed her coat, and headed to the airport asap--bound for the usa-- to sound the alarm.

The Sovietization of American Life 11 replies

One day historians will look back at the period beginning with the COVID lockdowns of spring 2020 through the midterm elections of 2022 to understand how America for over two years lost its collective mind and turned into something unrecognizable and antithetical to its founding principles. “Sovietization” is perhaps the best diagnosis of the pathology. It refers to the subordination of policy, expression, popular culture, and even thought to ideological mandates. Ultimately such regimentation destroys a state since dogma wars with and defeats meritocracy, creativity, and freedom.

My friend a podcast partner Kale Zelden, a Catholic, has an interesting Twitter thread about how troubled he is by Pope Francis’s recent acts, and what it says about the direction of the Catholic Church. It begins here: Kale talks about how, as a younger man, he was so inspired by the figure of John Paul II, and the solid rock of Truth his papacy, and the Roman church, represented. Now, though, Francis continues to repudiate so much of JP2’s legacy, and not only that, but magisterial Catholic teaching. More:

Gertrude Stein famously warned that it was important to know how far to go when going too far. It pains me to admit that Democrats seem to have a far better sense of all that than do Republicans. Perhaps it’s because Democrats have a visceral appreciation of William Hazlitt’s observation that “those who lack delicacy hold us in their power.” The Democrats, that is to say, long ago became expert at the game of holding their opponents to standards that they themselves violate not just with impunity but with ostentatious glee

One might assume that an organization like White Coat Waste Project (WCW)—which unites Republicans and Democrats to stop the federal government from abusing puppies and kittens in wasteful, taxpayer-funded experiments—would be immune as a target of censorship and disinformation campaigns. Unfortunately, one would be wrong. For the past two years, government animal testing has been at the center of the free speech debate that’s reached a boiling point in the United States. Big Tech and Big Media companies have weaponized “fact checks,” sensitive content warnings, and advertising bans to muzzle us and cast doubt on our findings—even when our investigations are demonstrably and self-evidently true.

His famous name shadows George P. Bush, the only member of the dynastic political clan now in public office, as he enters the final days of an uphill campaign to unseat Texas’ attorney general. To some Texans, the Bush family name is a badge of integrity, harking back to a bygone era of rectitude and respectful political debate. To others, it is the disqualifying mark of a Republican old guard that failed the party and betrayed its last president, Donald Trump.

If an administration deliberately wished to cause havoc on the border, to ensure fuel was nearly unaffordable, to create a crime wave, to spark 1970s hyperinflation, and to rekindle racial tensions, what would it have done differently than what Joe Biden has done? So is Biden malicious, incompetent, or a wannabe left-wing ideologue? When pressed about inflation and fuel price hikes, Biden either blames someone or something else, gets mad at the questioner, or claims Donald Trump did it. His administration apparently believes things are going well and according to plan.

Judge Amit Mehta sounded perturbed, to say the least. The D.C. District Court judge handling numerous January 6 legal matters, including the Justice Department’s high-profile prosecution of the Oath Keepers, flatly dismissed concerns by defense attorneys that the first trial in the case will coincide with public hearings held by the January 6 Select Committee later this year. “Even if Congress is on the steps of the courthouse reading the [final] report, I am not moving the September trial,” Mehta warned during a status hearing last week for nine Oath Keepers accused of seditious conspiracy among other charges. Mehta’s outburst was telling. In any other jurisdiction in the country,

One of the more enduring educational whims is Social Emotional Learning (SEL) which took off in the 1990s when the Collaborative to Advance Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) came into being, and hosted a conference with researchers, educators, child advocates, and others in the field.

Everyone has an opinion, and the pundits are competing in the expertise sweepstakes. What can we say with some degree of plausibility? The Democrat roster is, by all accounts, dramatically uninspiring. Biden, who speaks in tongues, is plainly beyond redeeming; the question is whether he will manage to survive the year, let alone stumble, lollop, and whiffle to the end of his first term.
