The Sovietization of American Life

Original Article

One day historians will look back at the period beginning with the COVID lockdowns of spring 2020 through the midterm elections of 2022 to understand how America for over two years lost its collective mind and turned into something unrecognizable and antithetical to its founding principles. “Sovietization” is perhaps the best diagnosis of the pathology. It refers to the subordination of policy, expression, popular culture, and even thought to ideological mandates. Ultimately such regimentation destroys a state since dogma wars with and defeats meritocracy, creativity, and freedom.

Years in the making waiting for the right moment to strike. Enough citizens have been softened up to reality and believe in pixie dust and unicorns. It is left to the last Americans to stop the mud slide.

It's more than an ideology. It is a belief system that more and more people blindly put their faith in. When people stop believing in God, they will believe in anything. Don't be surprised when people come out in droves to vote Democrat in spite of the terrible economy. People will be brainwashed and manipulated into supporting a corrupt oppressive centralized government because they will believe it's for a greater good that is 'saving the planet' and 'eradicating injustice'. The Democrats will control the narrative and the dialogue. The last thing they will discuss is the economy. The discussion will revolve around gun control, climate change, and social justice. Every white Republican will be labeled a racist white supremacist out to destroy the planet and oppress the people of the world. They will laugh at us because they will no longer need voter fraud to win elections because they now have enough people brainwashed to win elections.

When I think of Communism and the Soviets, I see gray — gray (UGLY) buildings, gray weather, and gray people. If you remember, PDJT issued a proclamation that all new federal buildings have to be beautiful. Communism strips the beauty from everything. And I also think one of the reasons we’re here, facing the abyss, is that we’ve become soft. There is no fortitude to give up Facebook, quit Amazon prime, or make minimal sacrifices to stop the Soviet train. We’ve certainly raised a soft generation of lazy, non-motivated, non-workers. We’re probably done, unless the Lord brings a rapid and deep revival.

FTA: "What binds a Pete Buttigieg, Alejandro Mayorkas, and Jennifer Granholm is not expertise in transportation, border security, or energy independence but allegiance to an entire menu of woke policies that are often antithetical to their own job descriptions." Let's not forget that each one of these appointments was made with the Senate's advice and consent. No one ever asks about "expertise" because these appointments are invariably political hacks or sycophants. The Senators serving on oversight committees are generally hacks themselves. There was a time everyone thought the bureaucrats would prevent disaster, except that is proving flat wrong. But, so long as People magazine has them on their front cover...

Bipartisan investigations are a rarity in Washington, D.C. The constituencies likely to be affected or to suffer collateral damage are usually enough to derail them from gaining momentum. Affix the term “disinformation” to the claim in need of investigation and the chances of a genuine inquiry plummet from hardly ever to "forget about it." Such is the current trajectory of the need to explore the origin of COVID-19.

My friend a podcast partner Kale Zelden, a Catholic, has an interesting Twitter thread about how troubled he is by Pope Francis’s recent acts, and what it says about the direction of the Catholic Church. It begins here: Kale talks about how, as a younger man, he was so inspired by the figure of John Paul II, and the solid rock of Truth his papacy, and the Roman church, represented. Now, though, Francis continues to repudiate so much of JP2’s legacy, and not only that, but magisterial Catholic teaching. More:

Gertrude Stein famously warned that it was important to know how far to go when going too far. It pains me to admit that Democrats seem to have a far better sense of all that than do Republicans. Perhaps it’s because Democrats have a visceral appreciation of William Hazlitt’s observation that “those who lack delicacy hold us in their power.” The Democrats, that is to say, long ago became expert at the game of holding their opponents to standards that they themselves violate not just with impunity but with ostentatious glee

One might assume that an organization like White Coat Waste Project (WCW)—which unites Republicans and Democrats to stop the federal government from abusing puppies and kittens in wasteful, taxpayer-funded experiments—would be immune as a target of censorship and disinformation campaigns. Unfortunately, one would be wrong. For the past two years, government animal testing has been at the center of the free speech debate that’s reached a boiling point in the United States. Big Tech and Big Media companies have weaponized “fact checks,” sensitive content warnings, and advertising bans to muzzle us and cast doubt on our findings—even when our investigations are demonstrably and self-evidently true.

To some Texans, the Bush family name is a badge of integrity, harking back to a bygone era of rectitude and respectful political debate. To others, it is the disqualifying mark of a Republican old guard that failed the party and betrayed its last president, Donald Trump.

In a "letter to the faithful," the archbishop wrote that after repeated attempts to speak with Pelosi and persuade her to adhere to the Catholic Church's teaching that life begins at conception and abortion is a sin, he has determined to place her under public church discipline.

If an administration deliberately wished to cause havoc on the border, to ensure fuel was nearly unaffordable, to create a crime wave, to spark 1970s hyperinflation, and to rekindle racial tensions, what would it have done differently than what Joe Biden has done? So is Biden malicious, incompetent, or a wannabe left-wing ideologue? When pressed about inflation and fuel price hikes, Biden either blames someone or something else, gets mad at the questioner, or claims Donald Trump did it. His administration apparently believes things are going well and according to plan.

Judge Amit Mehta sounded perturbed, to say the least. The D.C. District Court judge handling numerous January 6 legal matters, including the Justice Department’s high-profile prosecution of the Oath Keepers, flatly dismissed concerns by defense attorneys that the first trial in the case will coincide with public hearings held by the January 6 Select Committee later this year. “Even if Congress is on the steps of the courthouse reading the [final] report, I am not moving the September trial,” Mehta warned during a status hearing last week for nine Oath Keepers accused of seditious conspiracy among other charges. Mehta’s outburst was telling. In any other jurisdiction in the country,

Culturally responsive education, inventive spelling, new math, experiential learning, balanced literacy, etc. are educational styles that have come and gone and come and gone and . . . One of the more enduring educational whims is Social Emotional Learning (SEL) which took off in the 1990s when the Collaborative to Advance Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) came into being, and hosted a conference with researchers, educators, child advocates, and others in the field.

Walmart is pulling a popular brand of coconut milk off their shelves after reports of forced monkey labor. Walmart became the latest retail giant to drop Chaokoh coconut milk from its catalog. The mega-retailer pulled the beverage due to repeated allegations of monkey slave labor in its production. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) accused the Thai coconut milk supplier of using monkey slave laborers for harvest, which it claims are kept chained and improperly cared for. "The coconut trade uses social monkeys as chained-up coconut-picking machines, depriving them of any opportunity to eat, play, or spend time with their families," said Tracy Reiman, PETA's executive vice president.

When asked “How concerned are you that a shooting in which a gunman targets people based on their race, religion or ethnicity will happen in your neighborhood,” almost half (43%) confessed that they are concerned.
