On Sunday’s “Face The Nation,” CBS News host John Dickerson urged viewers to care more about Democrats’ January 6 production than they do inflation: JOHN DICKERSON (voice-over): President Eisenhower warned that, in managing national affairs, you can’t let urgent matters eclipse important ones. The nation’s leaders faced a test of that theory this week. In the urgent category is inflation, up 8.6 percent compared to May a year ago, a 40-year high. In the important category, the House hearing about the attempted overthrow of the 2020 election.

If it was so urgent or important why hasn't the evidence been referred to the courts and Justice Department for indictment and prosecution, rather than waiting until just before an election and having public hearings on TV?

#1, because anyone who is indicted then has the right to discovery and the Pelosi cabal can absolutely not let that happen. This is their only shot and it’s failing massively.

Those big wigs don’t give a hoot about the average American as long as the shows they develop and put out to the public fit within the mantra where their political agenda holds sway, and are watched in enough numbers by ordinary people to keep those big wigs within their “Aristocratic” lifestyle.

Bad timing for the televised hearings...summer viewing doldrums setting in. Maybe it was meant to be...these hearings are not even "important", certainly not "urgent".

Our 'independent' media marches lock step with the powers running our government. If our media is out of touch, what does that say about our government? Easiest answer is they have different priorities. That makes sense if you think our government is run by thieves.

The "attempt to overthrow the 2020 election succeeded. Jan 6th was about an attempt to stop the overthrow of President. The violent police riot which resulted in the murder of four unarmed protestors at the hands of the DC Police force is what should be examined. Who ordered the cops to let people into the Capital building, buildings with advanced security on the doors that required codes to be entered before they could be opened, who ordered the launch of Police assaults on non violent protesters? These are the real questions that the so called investigation have not even addressed so far.

irginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe captured the mission of the Democratic Party in 2021 when he uttered this phrase: “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” Move aside, Terry. A new catchphrase encapsulates the Democratic Party even better: “A drag queen for every school.” That demand was uttered Wednesday by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel at an education speech she delivered in Lansing.

Bipartisan investigations are a rarity in Washington, D.C. The constituencies likely to be affected or to suffer collateral damage are usually enough to derail them from gaining momentum. Affix the term “disinformation” to the claim in need of investigation and the chances of a genuine inquiry plummet from hardly ever to "forget about it." Such is the current trajectory of the need to explore the origin of COVID-19.

One day historians will look back at the period beginning with the COVID lockdowns of spring 2020 through the midterm elections of 2022 to understand how America for over two years lost its collective mind and turned into something unrecognizable and antithetical to its founding principles. “Sovietization” is perhaps the best diagnosis of the pathology. It refers to the subordination of policy, expression, popular culture, and even thought to ideological mandates. Ultimately such regimentation destroys a state since dogma wars with and defeats meritocracy, creativity, and freedom.

My friend a podcast partner Kale Zelden, a Catholic, has an interesting Twitter thread about how troubled he is by Pope Francis’s recent acts, and what it says about the direction of the Catholic Church. It begins here: Kale talks about how, as a younger man, he was so inspired by the figure of John Paul II, and the solid rock of Truth his papacy, and the Roman church, represented. Now, though, Francis continues to repudiate so much of JP2’s legacy, and not only that, but magisterial Catholic teaching. More:

Gertrude Stein famously warned that it was important to know how far to go when going too far. It pains me to admit that Democrats seem to have a far better sense of all that than do Republicans. Perhaps it’s because Democrats have a visceral appreciation of William Hazlitt’s observation that “those who lack delicacy hold us in their power.” The Democrats, that is to say, long ago became expert at the game of holding their opponents to standards that they themselves violate not just with impunity but with ostentatious glee

One might assume that an organization like White Coat Waste Project (WCW)—which unites Republicans and Democrats to stop the federal government from abusing puppies and kittens in wasteful, taxpayer-funded experiments—would be immune as a target of censorship and disinformation campaigns. Unfortunately, one would be wrong. For the past two years, government animal testing has been at the center of the free speech debate that’s reached a boiling point in the United States. Big Tech and Big Media companies have weaponized “fact checks,” sensitive content warnings, and advertising bans to muzzle us and cast doubt on our findings—even when our investigations are demonstrably and self-evidently true.

If an administration deliberately wished to cause havoc on the border, to ensure fuel was nearly unaffordable, to create a crime wave, to spark 1970s hyperinflation, and to rekindle racial tensions, what would it have done differently than what Joe Biden has done? So is Biden malicious, incompetent, or a wannabe left-wing ideologue? When pressed about inflation and fuel price hikes, Biden either blames someone or something else, gets mad at the questioner, or claims Donald Trump did it. His administration apparently believes things are going well and according to plan.

Starks-Richardson, who often took her daughter to the Indianapolis Children's Museum growing up, said she expected the museum would be more focused on educating the public about Juneteenth -- which celebrates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans -- instead of serving themed foods. To make matters worse, she said, watermelon has historically been used as a racist trope against Black Americans.
