New York City needs to “do better” in preventing black residents from being driven out of their neighborhoods, Mayor Eric Adams said on Sunday, during an address marking the Juneteenth holiday. Speaking in Central Park, Adams compared the modern-day uprooting of people of color from neighborhoods across the US—including the five boroughs—to slavery. “When I was in Ghana last year, [I] saw how families were displaced, torn apart and brought over to America through slavery in the hulls of the ships, living in dungeons, spending months and months living in their human waste, having their babies taken from them, and saw them dispersed and displaced,” he said.

Slavery was rampant in Ghana loooooong before this continent was even discovered....Ask yourself this Mayor...would you rather live in Ghana today?
200years ago?
530years ago?
Ghana is funding a massive "repatriation" campaign they will PAY any American Black to move there, guarantee a job and a home.
No one is snatching up the weak and defenseless from ANY place in NYC and dragging them in chains to anywhere.
In Fact, The Cops can't even snatch up and drag to JAIL Hardened violent criminals, preying mostly on weak and defenseless...blacks.

Grievance must be kept alive, in order to displace meritocracy. The grievance mongers like this dude cannot be elected in a meritocracy.

As white people move into formerly black neighborhoods the neighborhoods improve, but those blacks who are displaced go to some other neighborhood and the shooting and crime starts there. It's a cycle. First the blacks move in and whites are displaced, then whites move back and blacks are displaced.
But nothing really changes except the address.

Um....you are aware that "white" people bought African slaves from other Africans, right? With the diseases of Africa, it was suicide for whites to try to harvest slaves. Staying for any amount of time meant death.

Captain America, Eric Adams, is lighting a stick of dynamite that he might not be able to put out, before it's too late, this kind of verbal ridiculosity is not music to the ears of many New Yorkers - talk about pitting one against the other, good work - do the city a favor, go out and busy yourself buying more suits and other apparel and skip the "governing" that you're not doing

Does "black displacement" explain why they're pushing people onto subway tracks and hacking them to pieces on the street?

I didn't think they had slavery in NY, at least not until Democrats took over the city.

DeBlasio 2.0 Adams has done nothing to keep NYCers safe. He has broken his contract with the citizens of the Big Apple.

You do know mayor, that it was the democrats who have fought against every freedom and right for blacks in this country since the Civil War? It was republicans who fought to arm freed slaves via the NRA, and it was republicans who stood for civil rights for blacks in this nation.
Meanwhile, democrats like Al Gore Sr. and Strom Thurmond fought giving you the right to vote. You want to get made about slavery? Get mad at the Africans who still lived there and sold your ancestors to the ARABS who then brought them over to the New World.

BTW, Adams, your people were very busy selling their own people!! Slavery was conducted in that neck of the woods 1000 years before Europeans caught on! Oh, and your people are still busy buying and selling to this very day. Even in the US!

White liberals reliably vote for bLACK huckster politicians who they imagine will heal any rifts between the races, knowing deep down that the animosity stems from the bLACK side of the coin, so maybe one of their follows might be able to set them straight. It has yet to work, and to the contrary it makes things worse because racists like Dandy Dude Adams also have a beef against White people, and are all too eager to cause more problems once they've been put in a position to do so.
