Why Democrats Want to Get Rid of the Suburbs

Original Article

The war on America's suburbs has opened a new front. Buried in President Biden's proposed budget for 2023 is a $10-billion bribe for suburban communities to remove zoning barriers to high-density housing. (snip) It is a strong signal to Democrat-controlled states to gear up the decades-long efforts to bludgeon affluent communities into submitting to "housing justice" and providing their "fair share." (snip) These efforts are being fueled by housing activists and progressive think-tanks like the Brookings Institution, which declared in a January 2022 article: "By some measures, the suburban counties around New York City have some of the worst exclusionary zoning in the nation."

It's all part of this equity BS. If they can't force people in the suburbs to live in the inner cities (someone in the suburb might say - Heck No ! - I, a suburbanite, would) , they'll force people in the inner cities onto the people in the suburbs (someone in the inner city might say - Heck Yeah ! - I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to live in a government created hell hole).

Anyone who has ever lived in a community that "allowed" Low Income Housing knows what happened to their neighborhood. Immediately, there were Junker cars swarming the place, young men hanging out in front, harassing any Female who walked by, their kids flooded the schools and brought Head Lice! Then there was the crime! Nobody worked as they were all on Welfare, so they had time to roam the neighborhoods and suddenly we had Break-ins everyday! It didn't take long until the New Building they moved into became a Ghetto! No Thanks! You had better fight ANY Low Income Building coming into your neighborhood if you value your nice Lifestyle!

The war is real and it is being fought at your front door. If you are not paying attention, it will blow up and destroy your communities. We are having some issues in our little community where the few liberals who have moved in want to flex their muscles. So far, we have managed to defeat them but they never stop fighting. It will take involvement from the community to keep these wretched policies away from our doors. Democrats want to erase the America in which we grew up loving. The American way of life thrives in our communities and, of course, this is what they want to destroy. We cannot allow that to happen. We have to get active in local politics. The time for complacency is over.

I watched a new low rent housing project of a few two-story structures built in my small town (government subsidized I'm sure) that my aunt lived in with my cousins in the early seventies they were very nice when new. Years later in the 1980s I visited a friend whose mother lived there I was shocked. Toilets throw out of second story windows outside on the ground, Junk cars, garbage outside the provided dumpsters with filth everywhere. In the nineties it was condemned then bulldozed down to just empty lots I couldn't believe that existed in one portion of our clean little town. Yes, you don't want that encroachment coming near you it's like a disease because they aren't meant for decent people to live in just some more restitution for a certain race/class to live then destroy it.

illogical, as usual. The whole Climate Change crap is due to big cities. Daytime temperatures are not becoming hotter, overnight lows are becoming warmer due to Urban Heat Island effects. All of the asphalt, brick and concrete absorb daytime heat and radiate it at night raising the Average temperatures and retaining heat to start a new day. When there is a record breaking high temp I always ask why was the old record set decades or a century ago when the city was smaller and less populated? More people in cities results in higher UHIs. It is about control. Funny how our betters always say they support "freedom" as they corral the livestock for "the greater good".

We are already seeing some of this in NW Florida. The city is building tiny homes the size of house trailers with a brick facade. They are jammed together with minimum space and very near elementary schools. Guess what, most of the residents no habla English! Our award winning academic high school will soon be drug down by these new residents, probably snuck in here by Catholic Charities.

Saw this happen in a small town I lived in here in Texas. It went from a sleepy, safe town to gas stations getting robbed. Someone tried to steal our ride on mower (I’m betting it was illegals), my neighbor had his lawn equipment and trailer stolen (turned out it was illegals), the schools were flooded by ghetto blacks and fights as well as thefts were a daily occurrence. The last straw was a drive by shooting by the football field my young sons were practicing at. I never understood why any local government would approve of killing their own community?!

To pull off any of their grand plans and dirty schemes they'll need another Great Depression. American Socialism was born of that opportunity and they milked is and extended it for as many years as they could. They see a great reckoning coming and have no way to stop it. Now, how could they intentionally put us into another Great Depression? Ghettos, Food Stamps, Low Income Housing, Illegal Immigrants, DEMOCRATS... as far as the eye can see. This could be a real Socialist Paradise if we just let it.

This article doesn’t really scratch the itch. This is not really about “the dems war on…”. This issue is really the left’s existential war on the middle class and it goes back to classic 19th century Marxism. One must understand the Marxist worldview of zero-sum gain; one class’s gain is at the expense of another; or distilled to it’s motif: oppressors and victims. In their mind there must be a leveling. Marxists and post-modernists loathe not what the middle-class suburbanites do but what rather what they represent: Judeo-Christian values, including patriarchal nuclear families coupled with a strong work ethic. Entry into the middle class is largely merit-based is comprised mostly of the professional working class. The middle class tend to want to live in communities of like minds and are safe to raise their families, hence the suburbs. The left, since Marx on down, HATES the middle class and their values as they viewed as road blocks to their goal of power and control through the state. The left must be the ones dispensing rights to the proletariat and dependency to the state. Self reliance, nuclear families and merit are an anathema to them. Ergo, the middle class and where they live must be eradicated.

Go for it! Turn suburbs into intercity Hadesholes. With today's technology, folks will move to more rural settings. Imagine you're a latte liberal full of self righteous indignation at country life. Then intercity Hades hits you in the face. You move to a small town close enough to go to your favorite Biden rally or Piglosi slur fest. Food and shopping or a mere hour away which, depending on the weather, your Tesla can handle it. But you find the folks so friendly. There is almost no crime. You see something you've never seen before, stars! And with more folks, little boutique and other amenities start to show up. And the taxes, WOW! Didn't now taxes could be so low!. And slowly, some of those liberal self righteous assumptions fade away. And then, you vote Rebublican!

There's nothing left to steal or burn in the city, so just send the crime to the suburbs. We've had a murder where nothing but cornfields use to be not too far away from my home. First, they bulldozed woods and part of a cornfield and built low income apartments. Then once someone from the Baltimore had a place to go, they drove almost 25 miles to these apartments, and killed someone. I'm sure the farmer that sold the property made a pretty penny, but was probably told they were going to build upscale apartments.

About 25 years ago, I was chatting with my neighbor, then a police officer, now a retired police officer. He commented that "they are putting in those apartments over on Lindsey, I hate to see that". I was more naive and asked why he was unhappy about apartments going in. He patiently explained that the police knew from experience that a huge portion of all their calls would be coming from the apartments. I didn't understand, so he explained some more, criminals and low lives don't own their own homes. They rent apartments and steal from and rob their neighbors, and get into drunken fights at 2 am, and generally cause trouble and mayhem, because they are criminals. And more apartments brings in more criminals, more crime, more problems. There are REASONS why we have single family, owner occupied zoning laws in our suburbs, and that they are relatively crime free and peaceful. And the Dems want EVERYONE to experience the "benefits" of their constituents' lifestyle "job" choices. They want criminals living in YOUR neighborhood.

The suburbs are populated by people who are not part of the elite, but are successful enough to have escaped poverty. Elites resent them, because to them, it's all their money and property these people are using. Moving the section 8 housing out to the suburbs allows the Elites to move crime infested populstions away from "their" places of commerce and power, protecting their little castles in the sky. They also, gleefully punish all those suburbanites who thought they escsped that mess. Elites are bitter, selfish people who believe they should be worshiped just for existing.

In Ukraine, a hundred days of warfare has passed and the Russians are still there, pounding cities, and not going away. In the east, they appear to be gaining ground in taking control of the Donbas. They still have overwhelming superiority of men and materiel, and the signals from Moscow say no let-up. Yesterday, the Russians were actually back to shelling Kiev. So much for all that political tourism -- from Jill Biden, to Bono, to Boris Johnson, to Nancy Pelosi... The Russians also destroyed a major grain terminal in Mykolaiv. The ports for exports of Ukrainian grain remain blocked and land transport is gummed up

U.S. officials today said they have little fear that China could attack Nancy Pelosi's plane if she flies to Taiwan as Beijing doubled down on their threat to take 'firm and strong measures' if the House speaker visits the island. If Pelosi does travel to Taiwan, which is still an uncertainty, the U.S. military would increase its movement of forces and assets in the Indo-Pacific region, officials said. The officials declined to provide details of their plans, but said that fighter jets, ships, surveillance assets and other military systems would likely be used to provide overlapping rings of protection for her flight to Taiwan

President Joe Biden is free to emerge from isolation after testing negative for COVID-19. Biden felt "well enough" on Tuesday "to resume his physical exercise regime," according to White House physician Dr. Kevin O'Connor. Biden's pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature were "absolutely normal," in addition to his lungs being "clear," O'Connor wrote in his Tuesday note to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shared with reporters. Jean-Pierre could not provide details on Tuesday regarding what physical activities Biden undertook, nor what he and his health team were doing to mitigate the risk of so-called "long COVID"
I was wrong about Trump 30 replies

I recently wrote a column about why I believed Trump should not run in 2024. I was wrong. I allowed my distaste for Trump’s personality to override his virtues, which are considerable. Some people want Trump without his vices. I was among them -- until yesterday, when I watched and listened to Tom Klingenstein’s speech titled “Trump’s virtues.” It was masterful and shamed me that I did not make the distinction between Trump's character and his virtues, the former being deeply flawed, the latter being almost perfect. I need to man up in my defense of the former President's virtues.

By now, you will have heard that Bruce Springsteen fans have been apoplectic over the news that tickets for his 2023 tour are in some cases going for $4,000 to $5,000. Ticketmaster, which is at least one corporation that the cultural elites do not seem to oppose, has defended the move by stating that it is part of its “dynamic system” allowing it to price “platinum” tickets on a system based on supply and demand. No need to find a scalper outside the venue. You can find one in just a few clicks. But as Bobby Olivier pointed out at NJ.com, back in 2009,

President Joe Biden said he was feeling great and had got through COVID with only mild discomfort, he said Wednesday morning, but he suggested Americans should wear masks indoors as the nation grapples with the latest infectious variant. And he paid tribute to vaccinations, which he said allowed him to stay in the White House in contrast to President Donald Trump who had to be airlifted to hospital. 'Here's the bottom line: When my predecessor got COVID he had to get helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center,' said Biden, 79. 'He was severely ill. Thankfully he recovered. 'I got COVID, I worked from upstairs of the White House ....

A new CNN poll shows a majority of Republicans would like to see a new GOP candidate as the 2024 Presidential nominee. This poll comes as former President Donald Trump may announce his decision as soon as September, and as Republicans sound the alarm. Some GOP members want the midterm election to be about the economy, the southern border, and the failed policies by the Biden administration but fear if Trump announces his run for President before the midterms, that will energize Democrats and Independents to come out in droves and vote for the Democratic candidates. The poll question was: “Who do you think the Republican Party should nominate

President Biden warned oil companies last week that if they don’t do more to help address rising prices, he will revoke their drilling permits on federal lands. While touting that gas prices have fallen to below $4 at 30,000 gas stations across 35 states, he said more needs to be done. "First, we’re going to look at ways to increase oil production from the existing wells and permits that exist today," he said. "The industry has more approved permits for production on federal lands than they can possibly use. That’s a fact. Let me say it again: They have more than they can use.

Washington, District of Columbia — Former Vice President Mike Pence outlined his “freedom agenda” Tuesday morning, citing the late Andrew Breitbart in his vision to restore American culture. “Politics is downstream of culture,” Pence said, quoting Breitbart. “The American people are proud of our culture.” “American freedom is under attack,” he said, “big tech, big media, big government, even big business.” The left is pushing a “pernicious woke agenda designed to … destroy the American dream,” he continued, saying that the “the ruling elite has never been more out of touch” but also “never more intent on imposing their agenda.”

On a searingly hot night in New York City, a group of mask-wearing activists grasping bags of lentils set out to stage the biggest blitzkrieg yet upon a new target for climate campaigners in the US – the tires of SUVs. The group – a mixture of ages and genders – split up as midnight approached, heading down the streets of the Upper East Side, lined by some of the most expensive apartments in the world and a gleaming parade of high-end, parked SUVs. This type of vehicle is the second largest cause of the global rise in carbon dioxide emissions over the
