A bipartisan group of senators have announced an agreement on gun legislation. I am not sure whether their deal has been reduced to legislative language, and I don’t know whether it will get through the Senate, or whether Democrats in the House will vote for it. (If I were a Democrat, I would think that the deal is extremely weak, and its main effect may be to take gun control off the table in November.)
As summarized by the senators’ press release (link above), the deal sounds pretty good to me. There is no foolishness about “assault weapons.” It includes a focus on mental health, recognizing

Sadly, you know that fascist lie-berals will take an inch now -- knowing they will not rest until they have everything they truly want!!!! But they have to get that first inch first.
Honestly, it sounds like Republicans may have gotten more than the Demon-Rats than this. But what concerns me are the "red flag" laws being federalized. That screams of abuse by the same Demon-Rats and RINO's that are on the January 6th committee and who allowed Ashley Babbett's killer to go scott-free!!!!!

Yeah sure, and the Patriot Act is temporary and the CIA only does operations outside the Country.

Red flag law. Oh goody. It's great to think someone could make an accusation against you without your knowledge and have the police show up at your residence and take your stuff without a warrant or a conviction. You'll only get to spend several thousand dollars to hire a lawyer to prove your innocence (since you're already considered guilty) and get your property back. And that's assuming the judge 'thinks' you're not a whacko at his / her discretion.

Red Flag Law??? Does that mean that every single person who marched with Red Flags and Red Banners while rioting all across the country since 1968 will get banned from firearms for Life?
No? Then stuff it.

If the communists are for it, good Americans are against it. There is no acceptable gun control because it is another foot in the door. They are addicted to taking away freedom. It will never be enough.

The bill has not yet been signed into law, but I am SURE that the Leftists are working on every conceivable 'angle' they can think of as to how they can abuse this for their own nefarious purposes, as soon as (if) it is signed and become a law.

Every gun owner will be at the mercy of anyone and everyone he/she might have offended over the years. Red flag laws are revenge therapy for the offended. And courts aren't going to let juvenile records be opened for this.

"Mental Health" is the next black hole of social spending. We already have armies of social workers and psychology graduates in society. As the eye doctor asks, is it better or worse?

There is no “bill” yet. It’s an “agreement” on a “framework”. It’s time to flood your representatives’ offices with telephone calls and e-mails telling them this is unconstitutional and unworkable. Not that they care about little obstacles like that.... but they want above all else to be re-elected.

Red Flags laws can be used on anyone who follows or comments on any conservative site, including this one. Like something on Facebook, Twitter, etc., expect the anti-gun Gestapo to kick in the door. Unless you are a POC ganbanger, different rules apply.

Reading over the bill it is almost entirely a bunch of bland nothings which will accomplish nothing at all.
Frankly, with all the immense pressure, this may be a master stroke....a nothing bill that, at very most, tosses around some words about mental health and such and accomplishes nothing.....ESPECIALLY not actually taking away anyone's 2nd Amendment right.
So, perhaps this is a good example of "DOING SOMETHING"....while actually doing nothing, while so many in the Enemedia are screaming at the top of their lungs to "DO SOMETHING!!!!".
Maybe this is the pressure reliever that will not cause any real harm. Unlikely to do any real good, too, but if it does something real on mental health issues, that isn't bad.
From what I have read this is FAR, FAR away from Nutty, Nasty Nancy's crazed antigun bill from the House.
Now.....will any of her normal capacity magazine ban and other REAL infringements find their way into the final bill "in committee"?
THERE is the real danger. Mark my words - in the Joint Committee, they may take the innocuous Senate bill and the radical House bill and come up with a radical "compromise" bill.

The "Red Flag Laws" are EVIL and subject to Constitutional abuse... just like the "Patriot Act" was abused by Osama Obama and the Demonrats who spied on their political opponents.
