A California task force has released a report calling for 'comprehensive reparations' for African American residents, that include free four-year college, payouts, and raising the minimum wage in predominantly black industries, such as agricultural. The more than 500-page document consists of 13 chapters and breaks down reparation suggestions for the eligible black community in California to compensate for the 'racial terror' they've endured. The task force voted in March to limit reparations to descendants of slaves, overruling reparations advocates who wanted to expand compensation to all black people in the US.

More systemic racism. Govenment mandated hate of white folks is not the answer to anything.

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to offer blacks a one-way air ticket to Congo?

What if these predominantly black industries are owned by black entrepreneurs, will they not be punished by this demand to increase their workers' minimum wage and therefore may need to lay workers off to keep up their profits, hire robots or close their business? Makes no sense, as usual.

Hmmm. Will this crime be decided by a vote, or simply imposed by the tech lords?

The plantation is now a very exclusive (exclusionary) country club, guaranteeing many more generations of hyperactive acting out and a collective lack of accomplishment.

News flash: agriculture in California is not a "predominantly black" industry.

I'll maybe think about it once the fools
who voted in, the current mess in Washington, DC,
begin to talk reparations for those of us
who didn't.

California was never a slave state, and did not become a state until 1850. Before that, California was a part of Mexico. Does anyone in the government of California know their history?

Primarily black business...
Okay, let's use black beauty products as an example. Black owned company now has to pay their employees more than white owned companies. Black owned company must either let go of employees or raise the price of their beauty products they sell primarily to black consumers.
Black business is harmed.
Black workers are harmed.
Black consumers are harmed.
Yeah... this is really sticking it to whitey alright...

The Demon-Rat overlords of Commie-fornia may be pure evil, but they are not stupid.
They are playing to their braindead black voting base. They pass this, and the Supreme Court is guaranteed to find it unconstitutional. They never have to pay out a dime, but can say "see how we love you darkies, but those mean old conservative KKK men on the Supreme Court won't let us give you reparations!!!
Of course, add to this that there were never any black slaves in Commie-fornia...

Putin would do us a favor if he nuked Sacramento along with S.F. and L.A. We could rebuild the Golden State with the Lefties incinerated. My mother taught me to always look on the bright side, but I don't think she meant anything having to do with a mushroom cloud.

No wonder why people are leaving Taxifornia for better lives.
Government does not exist for what El Rushbo use to call "get even with 'em ism" through government control. It exists to allow CITIZENS to live their lives and conduct business WITHOUT government taking control over them.
I cannot blame people wanting to leave for a better life. Edicts from tyrants will keep coming pandering to a voting block who allows this to continue unabated.

This presents wonderful business opportunities whereby Clinton-like grifters, for handsome fees (probably subsidized by California tax receipts) to assist aspiring beneficiaries to "prove" their eligibility for their "reparations." Proving eligibility as a "descendant of slaves" is reminiscent of proving lineage in WW2 in Nazi Germany under the Nuremberg Laws.

How much Black blood do you need to qualify for this deal? According to Ancestory.com I am 2% Bantu so whoopee! I can get reparations, hopefully. Since my family came from Europe after 1865 it is a mystery to mw where this African ancestry came from but if they want to give out money I will help them do it.

If California wants to pay people who were “slaves” in their state they should start with the Chinese descents of the railroad workers in the 1800’s.

Keeping an entire useless, lazy race of people on their porches just waiting for the mailman to bring their checks.
This is to go along with Chicago schools having an entirely different grading system for black youths. The failing Buckwheat Jones will now be a straight A student. Is this a wonderful nation or what at least if you are black?

I would say that this is unconstitutional and would never survive a court challenge, but then, this is California, these are dems, and it is a John Roberts controlled SCOTUS. So, my advice to all those who live in this beautiful state (including my oldest) is get out while you can.

Does being descended from Spanish slaves in California count?
The Spanish were equal opportunity enslavers, bring slaves in from all over their empire, plus forcing the indigenous California Indians into all those pretty missions, whether they liked it or not. Will they get their land back?
