In the coming days, the Nations that adhere to the World Health Organization (WHO) will vote on resolutions regarding the WHO’s management of pandemics. These resolutions will transfer sovereignty regarding the health of citizens to a supranational body that is largely financed by the pharmaceutical industry and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. If these resolutions are approved by a majority, the WHO will have exclusive international authority in the case of a pandemic to impose all the rules, including quarantines, lockdowns, obligatory vaccinations, and vaccine passports. I’m surprised Biden is already in “concerned” mode about this. The political incentives require it, I suppose, as he’d be pilloried by Republicans if he downplayed the outbreak only to have it erupt nationally later. But you would think a guy who got elected promising normalcy, facing an electorate that’s exasperated by his failure to deliver on that pledge, would want to ease people’s minds about the latest Thing To Freak Out Over. One Texas restaurant owner is doing all he can to feed the babies in his community amid the baby formula shortage that has swept the nation. Benji Arslanovski, who owns Our Place Restaurant in Mansfield, Texas, has been giving away formula to local families who have been hard-pressed to find the precious product, KDFW reported. During an interview on Fox News Channel’s Fox and Friends Friday morning, he told host Steve Doocy that he has given away more than 300 cans thus far, adding that Texas Health of Mansfield has offered to pitch in on the effort by donating 105 cans.

Jack Sparrow, that is, the movie pirate played by Johnny Depp, whose defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard is full of the kind of meaningless salacious nonsense CNN’s declining viewership is capable of focusing on. For grownups, another trial in nearby Washington, D.C. is of far greater import, the trial of Michael Sussmann, but as Professor Charles Lipson notes on Facebook: I scanned through 2 hours of CNN coverage. No mention of the Sussmann trial at all (as usual) and no mention of Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook’s unexpected revelation

These people will get us all killed. Mitt Romney called on our NATO allies to prepare for a nuclear strike from Russia. The US has already invested tens of billions of dollars in military weapons to Ukraine. The New York Post reported: The US and its NATO allies should prepare a “devastating” response to potential Russian nuclear action, Sen. Mitt Romney said on Saturday. The call to action comes on the heels of threats from the Kremlin and warnings from Russian diplomats that the country’s Ukraine invasion could lead to a nuclear strike, the Utah Republican wrote in an op-ed for The New York Times.

Apparently continuing the method he perfected during the 2020 campaign in which his aides kept him insulated in his Delaware basement for months on end, President Joe Biden has now gone 100 days without doing an interview with reporters — mainstream liberal or otherwise. The last time the President of the United States sat down to answer questions was February 10, when Biden did an interview with NBC's Lester Holt. Meanwhile, Biden has not been too busy to take frequent long-weekend trips to his homes in Delaware, head to Asia and Europe, or travel around the country touting his few legislative agenda items

In the wake of the myriad failures during the covid pandemic response, World Health Organization officials did little self reflection. Instead, they decided that they needed even more power over the global population. Subsequently, the idea of a Global Pandemic Treaty was born. COVID-19 illustrated the need for enhanced preparedness and closer cooperation at global level.(Snip)The World Health Organization gets to define what a pandemic is, when a pandemic is in progress and how long a pandemic lasts. Then you read the fine print and you realize the W.H.O will have total authority over emergency operations in the United States if there’s ever a “public health emergency.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin is leaving meetings to receive medical treatments amid ongoing speculation that he is ill, Christopher Steele, a former intelligence official in the U.K., recently said. "Meetings of the security council that are shown to supposedly last for a whole hour are actually broken up into several sections," Steele, who served in the MI6 intelligence office, said during an interview with LBC Radio. "[Putin] goes out and receives some kind of medical treatment between those sections." Steele also said that Putin is "constantly accompanied around the place by a team of doctors."

For regular readers of this site, today’s news will likely not come as a surprise, but much of the nation seems to remain unaware of it. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) has released its latest reliability assessment for the summer of 2022 and, to put it mildly, the news is not good. In far too many states, the power grid is already nearly at full capacity, and in the next few months, that capacity will be exceeded. This isn’t a question of “if” or really even “when.” It’s just a fact. Industry experts know this and have been trying to sound the alarm for several years.

On Thursday morning in a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm repeatedly refused to acknowledge that the Biden administration's war on U.S. energy had caused gas prices to rise since the president took office and started cracking down on domestic energy production. Even after Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri laid out the proof of the Biden administration's anti-fossil fuel policies that have limited supply and driven up costs, Granholm still wouldn't accept any responsibility for the soaring cost of gas as the national average for regular unleaded hit another all-time high on Thursday morning.
