The U.S. economy added 428,000 jobs in April and the unemployment rate held steady at 3.6 percent, the Department of Labor said Friday. Economists had expected the economy to add 400,000 jobs and the unemployment rate to come in unchanged from the prior month at 3.6 percent. The range of forecasts by economists surveyed by Econoday was between a gain of 300,000 to a gain of 500,000. The labor force participation rate unexpectedly declined to 62.2 percent from 62.4 percent.

Comments:

The participation rate keeps falling because potential workers are counting on Biden and the Dems giving them handouts. It's unsustainable. Get ready for another crazy day on Wall Street.

Participation rate falling tells the REAL story. The 3.6% unemployment is fraud.

You can create (or re-post jobs for people who were let go because of Covid) all you want. Problem is, most employers can't fill them. My big take away from this report is the 37.6% of the people who choose to not participate in the wok force.

Just don't count them. That way you can get the rate to zero percent by November. Don't laugh. I am convinced they are going to try.

O% employment that's people who lost jobs getting off fraud vegetable Biden's welfare returning to work. When the numbers reach the workforce numbers when Trump was President before the 'big flu' then count from there. Democrat math calculations are always suspect never to be trusted. Let's go Brandon.

The rate of increase is 3.6% compared to what? They need to tell us how many people are in the workforce compared to two and a half years ago, which is probably before the "Great Pandemic".

Biden claims that he created all those jobs, but that is baloney, as those jobs were mostly all created during the years before the COVID pandemic, and the major lockdowns were put In motion mostly by leftist Democrat politicians. With the lockdowns and “free” money coming their way from the federal government huge numbers of working people abandoned those jobs and stayed at home. Now that the COVID pandemic is deemed by most Americans to be on the way out, hundreds of thousands of those American workers are rejoining the US workforce being hired back into jobs that were abandoned and remained unfilled until now.

There are certain demographics that are critical for the success of Republicans and Democrats. For instance, if Republicans want to succeed at the ballot box they must do well with evangelical Christians and non-college-educated white men. If they perform poorly with those two groups, they’re going to have a rough time on Election Day. Similarly, Democrats rely on college-educated single white women, Hispanics, and black folks. If they lose significant ground in any of those identity groups, they’re likely going to be in trouble. The way things are looking right now, Democratic support has eroded considerably in not just one of those demographics, but two.
