Public schools are feeling the fallout
from the COVID lockdowns

Vladimir Lenin allegedly said, "Give me four years to teach the children, and the seed I have sown shall never be uprooted."  America's leftists have taken those words to heart and, since the 1930s, have assiduously winnowed their way into America's education system.  The COVID lockdown, for all its destruction, may have ended up performing a huge service by exposing to parents just how bad the leftist toxin has grown in the last ten to fifteen years.  The sea change in parental attitudes toward education is shown in the fact that, across America, public school enrollment is collapsing.

It's tragic that the public education system has been so corrupted. There are great teachers out there but many are forced into compliance with liberal dogma and incompetence. Other teachers have been brainwashed into progressive think and never question what they are doing. Then there are the despicable people that we see on videos haranguing and bullying kids with their "lifestyle" choices and telling them to lie to their parents. Such "teachers" should be dismissed with prejudice and lose their accreditation. A whole other problem is coddling all the kids with "special needs" and spending huge amounts of money and effort trying to help them while educable students are left to coast on their own. This also includes the dumbing down of standards so the "slow" kids don't feel bad and don't depress tests scores for the schools. Unfortunately, the public system is too badly broken to be fixed. Education should become a service, with government financial support and public records of results. Parents can choose the school shop that meets their requirements. If they want to pay a premium, they can get premium service. Merit should select top students. Private schools can choose competent teachers and dump the incompetent indoctrinators. Competition is the only way to clean up the education mess.

Just about every school system is still operating like Covid is the black plague. Many are starting to bring mask wearing back. The school system where my wife teaches is calling for mask wearing again, and almost every Friday is a half day so teachers can do planning for the next week. Of course, the teachers don't really do anything except plan geta aways.

The time has come to abolish public education. Parents should have the option to home school and the parent/teacher be given a teacher's salary. The other option would be government paid private education and all private schools would have to be politics free. It's really come down to this, we need educators not commisars.

Good. They should be feeling the fallout and worse. Like all things on the left, their arrogance let them believe they could operate in whatever manner they chose and there wouldn’t be any consequences. I knew from the moment the first school was shut down in 2020 that they were slitting their own throats. Once parents got over the shock of the adjustment, they found out just how big of a cesspool their children’s school was, and that there were alternative solutions to K-12 education. That discovery has literally exploded with options. One such discovery is how much “filler” is in a day’s worth of curriculum in the school system. Actual required lessons take a mere couple of hours. Children are then free to play, explore, go on field trips…you know, the real education of life.

Close the government schools. They are ruined forever by the huge numbers of extreme racist and leftist teachers infesting the system. They seem entirely unsalvagable. Vouchers, private schools. End the horror show.

Most public schools were already near rock bottom. It's encouraging that they still had far enough to fall that the COVID hoax was measurable.

You usually hear about the kook lefty teachers/schools but never about the regular people who only want to teach kids and hate masks and voted for Trump. They are out there, all teachers aren't Trotsky.

I’m a public school teacher, and I will tell anyone who will listen that the public school system must die, period. It’s a cesspool of indoctrination and very little education. From the requirements that everyone be educated equally, to the school being the center of social services to students, their families, and their extended families, to the fact that the most ill-behaved, destructive, and disruptive children have more rights than anyone else in the system. It’s an act of God to get them removed from the school so that children can actually learn. Add to that the influx of indoctrinated Marxists weirdos that are flooding the classrooms across America and nothing good will come for your child in public education. Do whatever you need to do to get your child a real education. What is taking place in public schools is a crime against humanity. There are plenty of great public school teachers, but the constant fight against the stupidity is killing their spirits. Run, run, run from public education!

Former New York City mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that he is running for Congress in the upcoming midterm elections in November, in New York’s tenth congressional district. De Blasio make the announcement during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday. It comes merely 48 hours after de Blasio announced via Twitter that he was forming an exploratory committee to raise money for a potential bid. The committee was legally turned into a formal campaign on Friday. In announcing his candidacy, de Blasio told host Joe Scarborough that “people are hurting, they need help, they need help fast,” and that “they need leaders that can actually get them help now.”

Republican candidates in upcoming primaries may have a tougher time scoring a coveted endorsement from Donald Trump, according to the former President's allies, who say he is feeling more risk-averse amid the deadlocked Senate GOP contest in Pennsylvania. One of those allies described Trump as "agitated" by the uncertain outcome in the Keystone State primary, where his endorsement of celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz failed to translate into a decisive win against former hedge fund manager David McCormick. As of Thursday morning, the race remains tight and appears likely to head to an automatic recount as required by Pennsylvania law when the vote margin falls below 0.5%. "This is not

After the once-a-decade census is complete the Census Bureau conducts a follow-up to gauge the accuracy of the count. The follow-up of the 2020 census was delayed a bit because of the pandemic but the results are now out and they show that in 36 states the tally was pretty accurate. However in 14 other states the numbers were off. Six states had an undercount and eight states had an overcount. That there were a roughly equal number of states with overcounts as undercounts seems reasonable but the geographical and political breakdown of where those happened is interesting: The results showed that six states — Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, Illinois and Texas

Why does the left hate Elon Musk? It’s simple, really: Because he can’t be controlled, and because he doesn’t tolerate BS. The left can’t stand either. It insists on control, to the point of systematically eliminating or co-opting anything that might serve as an independent power center. (Their fear is justified: “Music clubs” turned out to be a major factor in Czechoslovakia’s 1989 anticommunist Velvet Revolution.) And it insists on not merely spreading BS, but on requiring people to repeat and endorse its BS as a sign of submission. Musk is thus a twin threat. As the sometime richest man in the world, he has a lot of power,

As we previously reported, the prosecution intended to call some big names for its case, including former Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias, who was a partner with Sussmann

All modern famines are man-made, usually the result of war, disease, and stupidity. In 2022, all the elements necessary for a historic famine are present and in abundance, leading many experts to the conclusion that the food crisis that will be upon us shortly will be a catastrophe. The Ukraine War is affecting the output of the second most important breadbasket in the world. Together, Russia and Ukraine supply “28% of globally traded wheat, 29% of the barley, 15% of the maize, and 75% of the sunflower oil,” according to The Economist. Russia and Ukraine contribute about half the cereals imported by Lebanon and Tunisia; for Libya and Egypt the figure is two-thirds.

Washington — After a weeklong delay, the Senate on Thursday voted to pass a $40 billion military, economic and humanitarian aid package for Ukraine as its bloody war with Russia neared the three-month mark. The vote was 86-11, with Republicans casting all of the no votes. The Senate also voted to confirm Bridget Brink as U.S. ambassador to Ukraine on Wednesday night, shortly after the State Department announced it was reopening its embassy in Kyiv. Democratic and Republican leaders had hoped to quickly take up the House-passed package last week, but Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., objected and dragged out the process over a dispute about oversight of the spending.

The Oklahoma legislature approved a law on Thursday that would ban almost all abortions from the moment of fertilization, sending the bill to Republican governor Kevin Stitt to sign. The law, which constitutes the most sweeping pro-life legislation passed by any state, allows anyone to sue a doctor or other person who “aids or abets” an abortion from the moment of fertilization for up to $10,000. While modeled on Texas’s ban on abortions upon detection of a fetal heartbeat, the Oklahoma law would ban almost all abortions, with exceptions for cases of rape or incest. The bill would go into effect immediately upon receiving the governor’s signature.
