It was like the hip-hop equivalent of “Weekend at Bernie’s.” Washington, DC’s Bliss nightclub has apologized over an appalling spectacle in which the body of slain rapper Goonew was reportedly displayed on their stage at his own funeral. Hunter Biden won’t like the interview his father’s chief of staff Ron Klain did with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on Sunday.
Asked about the Delaware investigation into the president’s son’s business affairs, Klain threw Hunter and his uncle Jim Biden under the bus. “The president is confident that his family did the right thing. But, again, I want to just be really clear, these are actions by Hunter and his brother. They’re private matters. They don’t involve the president. And they certainly are something that no one at the White House is involved in.”

Most of us following news of the war can surmise well enough from the circumstances and many eyewitness accounts which side is responsible for the atrocities in Bucha. But every population will have its share of cranks, tankies, authoritarians, contrarians, useful idiots, and gadflies various and sundry motivated to make excuses for Russia for their own pet personal or illiberal political reasons.
They require a bit more convincing, even though their ulterior motives will assure that they’re never actually convinced.
A less desperate propaganda operation than the Kremlin’s would have answered the evidence from Bucha with more modest claims.

Though the law has been dubbed by critics as the “don’t say gay” law, nowhere in the text of it does the word “gay” even appear, much less is it written that teachers are banned from saying “gay.” To reiterate points we’ve already made, here’s what the law actually mandates

A company that the government paid to distribute “Obamaphones”—the nickname critics gave to government phones given to poor people—has agreed to pay $13.4 million to settle a case alleging that it doled out devices to tens of thousands of people who didn’t deserve them.
TracFone Wireless signed up more than 175,000 ineligible customers for the program between 2012 and 2015, according to the allegations the company paid to settle. Officially known as the Lifeline program, it became known as the Obamaphone after news reports showed recipients thanking then-President Barack Obama for giving them phones. The DNC and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign agreed to pay $113,000 to settle a Federal Election Commission investigation into whether they violated campaign finance law. That is according to documents sent Tuesday to the Coolidge Reagan Foundation, which had filed an administrative complaint in 2018 accusing the Democrats of misreporting payments made to a law firm during the 2016 campaign to obscure the spending – Via Huffington Post.

The Biden administration's decision to end the public health emergency power that permitted the deportation of roughly 1.7 million migrants because of the pandemic is being questioned by Democrats before the 2022 midterm elections. The decision to end Title 42 in May, which the White House has repeatedly attributed to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, coincides with an anticipated worst-case-scenario surge of up to 18,000 border crossings a day as migrants take advantage of warmer weather before the fall elections.

Hunter Biden is apparently spending his father's presidency living in luxury in Malibu -- and so is his taxpayer-funded security detail. The Secret Service detail protecting the president's controversial son has been paying more than $30,000 a month to rent out a swanky Malibu, California, mansion for nearly a year, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News. The agency responsible for protecting the president and his family -- among other ranking government officials -- selected the property in order to be located as close as possible to Biden's own rented mansion where he is paying about $20,000 a month according to property

America has two seminal documents: The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. (snip) Each new Supreme Court justice swears an oath that begins “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; [and] that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same....” With that oath, the justice affirms his or her acceptance that people have unalienable (i.e., inherent) rights (snip) For a judge to deny these unalienable, inherent rights should instantly disqualify him or her from (snip) the Supreme Court. Yet deny those rights is exactly what Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson did.

A common trope in popular culture is that if you commit crimes against the weak, particularly children, prison won’t be kind to you. There are many in there who committed all manner of horrific crimes but who, whether because of life experience or their own sense of justice, don’t take kindly to those who abuse children.
In fact, “don’t take kindly” is quite an understatement. When it comes to those who, like the ones who many say were given a slap on the wrist by Kentanji Jackson, commit crimes involving child pornography or abusing kids, “prison justice”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has grabbed up a huge stake in Twitter, making him the social media giant's biggest shareholder just days after questioning its commitment to free speech.
Musk's purchase, revealed in a Security and Exchanges Commission filing published on Monday, gives him a 9.2 percent ownership stake, according to the Financial Times. At Twitter's current valuation, Musk's purchase likely cost nearly $3 billion. It comes after a poll Musk posted on Twitter sparked speculation he was considering buying Twitter or launching his own social network.

A retired intelligence officer says a U.S. spy agency asked for his help in fall 2020 to try to acquire a copy of the Hunter Biden laptop contents ahead of the presidential election.
Retired Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer's account to Just the News was confirmed by three other people who were approached by Shaffer or the agency or were involved in the approach.
They said the agency's interest was to analyze the hard drive contents for any evidence or patterns of how foreign adversaries were seeking to compromise prominent Americans or their families.

Between 2018 and 2020, California passed two so-called “corporate diversity” bills intended to put more women and minorities on the boards of directors for corporations having headquarters in the state. AB 826 required corporations to have an increasing number of women on their boards, up to as many as three if the board had six or more members. Then came AB 979, which mandated that boards have at least one member of an “underrepresented community” by the end of 2021. Companies found to not be in compliance would be fined hundreds of thousands of dollars.

President Biden believes his son Hunter did nothing illegal while involved in controversial and highly lucrative business dealings in Ukraine and China and is allowing the Justice Department to carry out its investigation unimpeded, the White House chief of staff said Sunday. “Of course the president’s confident that his son didn’t break the law. But, most importantly, as I said, that’s a matter that’s going to be decided by the Justice Department, by the legal process,” Ron Klain said on ABC News’ “This Week.”“It’s something that no one at the White House has involvement in.”

As if the border crisis isn’t damaging enough, with 2.5 million illegal migrants having crossed into the United States since Joe Biden took office, now the administration is going to make it exponentially worse by unwinding the last Trump-era restriction. The Title 42 policy, implemented by the Trump administration during the pandemic to allow border officials quickly to expel migrants on public health grounds, will be terminated next month, the CDC announced Friday.Title 42 was the last tool border officials had left to stem the flow of illegal migration from more than 150 countries across the southern border.

“To do a debate would be great. But that’s like saying pro wrestling is a show about athletic competition. … You have a responsibility to the public discourse, and you fail miserably,” - Jon Stewart to the hosts of CNN’s Crossfire, October 15, 2004.
I was busy walking my dog several weeks ago, on my lunchtime Thursday break, preoccupied with the piece I was trying to write in my head. The phone rang and a frantic booker was on the line. Would I be able to get to New York tomorrow to do an interview with Jon Stewart on race? I literally laughed out loud.

No, I did not watch the Oscars.
I did not see Will Smith slap host Chris Rock. I did not see any of the best and worst dresses on the red carpet. I get plenty of notifications from multiple sources clueing me in to comments on current events and I find that I just don't care about anything involving Hollywood celebrities. Which is quite a change from the years I spent as a young girl devouring every bit I could on the denizens of LaLa Land.
My room was littered with movie magazines blazoned with photos of the gorgeous and handsome stars

Last week the Russian government held a press conference where it aired accusations of breathtaking corruption on the part of Joe Biden and his family.
Unfortunately, this event was no fake news Russian propaganda. The incriminating evidence presented at the event came straight from the hard drive that belonged to Joe Biden’s son Hunter. (snip) foreign entities and governments also have Hunter Biden’s hard drive, and they are now using it to point out the obvious corruption of our president (snip) They will do this before the eyes of the whole world and will bring shame on what the international community now increasingly views as a corrupt American president

In just over 7 months, the Democrats will face their constituents in the midterm elections — and the voters are in a surly mood. Most polls suggest this dissatisfaction is about the state of the economy combined with a sense that, under President Biden and the Democrats, the country is careening from crisis to crisis. The latest Quinnipiac survey, for example, shows that only 36 percent of voters approve of the way Biden has handled the economy, and that inflation is their most urgent concern. According to the latest Morning Consult poll, 70 percent of voters believe the country is on the wrong track.

This report might not reach the level of “Babylon Bee” satire, but it sure pegs the hell out of the needle on the irony meter. As the Biden Border Crisis continues to worsen, and the most inept president in modern history and his war on energy have contributed to increasing gas prices, virtually from the beginning of his presidency, Mexico would like a word: Our southern neighbor is not happy with Americans crossing the border in search of lower prices at Mexican gas stations.
That statement alone is ironic on multiple levels, but it gets “better.”

The Biden administration has shown to have a proven woke agenda on gender issues, going so far as to threaten those who don't adhere to accepting certain lifestyles. This has even expanded to the military, where veterans can be stripped of hard-earned benefits if they don't adhere to a code of conduct. Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) has made it clear that he is putting the administration on notice when it comes to such "immoral and potentially illegal" actions, though. Steube is himself a veteran, as are many of the other signatories who signed onto a Friday letter to Secretary of Veteran Affairs Denis McDonough provided to Townhall.

Who says we can’t build bridges with the commie-loving, groomer-excusing, weather-worshiping race freaks of the left? We both seem to agree on one thing – all good and patriotic Americans need to take action to ensure that this pedo-curious, race-obsessed band of Marxist weirdos gets its collective Schumer kicked next November. Well, I think we agree on that. I know I do, and I know you do – we want to see them suffer total repudiation and more humiliation than even a Bulwark staffer can get into. But what is odd is that they seem to want the same thing.

The race to replace the late Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) in Congress is a crowded one, with more than 50 candidates looking to take the state’s only congressional seat. Donald Trump will certainly get to prove his status as Republican kingmaker in this race, as he’s just announced his “complete and total endorsement” of former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
“Wonderful patriot Sarah Palin of Alaska just announced that she is running for Congress, and that means there will be a true America First fighter on the ballot to replace the late and legendary Congressman Don Young,” Trump said in a statement released Sunday night.
