Washington - Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney say they will vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s “historic nomination” to the Supreme Court, bolstering bipartisan support for the first Black woman to be nominated for the court. The senators from Alaska and Utah announced their decisions Monday evening ahead of a procedural Senate vote to advance the nomination. They join Sen. Susan Collins of Maine as Republicans who say they will support Jackson. Jackson, a federal appellate court judge, was nominated by President Joe Biden to replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer.

As soon as this Flustercluck started I said Collins and Mitt Romney would cave, I wasn't sure about Murcowski, but it isn't surprising. But this is not just a case of a couple or 3 of republicans bucking the party, this is seriously voting to put someone on the Supreme Court who doesn't have the Bona Fides to be there.

Florida Gov. And we recommend against — that’s not the same as banning it,” DeSantis said during Thursday’s press conference, defending the state’s decision, as it is reportedly the only state

Senate negotiations over “gun control” legislation broke down abruptly on Thursday after Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) walked out. The bill was expected to pass quickly, and an initial framework seemed to be broadly supported by both Republicans and Democrats. But as is the way of Washington, the devil is in the details, and who could have possibly guessed that Democrats would attempt to take a few more bites of the apple on the way? Reuters has the report. The lead Republican negotiator in U.S. Senate negotiations toward a bipartisan gun safety bill walked out of the talks on Thursday, dimming the likelihood of a vote on the legislation before senators leave

Republican attorneys general in 26 states have called on the Biden administration to drop its LGBTQ requirements for federal school lunch funding, a policy that is accused of using “hungry children as a human shield.” The letter urged President Biden to withdraw the Agriculture Department’s May 5 memorandum, which said that state agencies and schools participating in federal food assistance programs must update their policies to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The guidance raised fears that the administration would cut off Food and Nutrition Act funding to schools that prohibit transgender girls from using girls’ restrooms and participating in girls’ sports.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday bragged about the performance of U.S. stocks during his time in office, as he made a speech in honor of labor unions at the White House. "The stock market has gone up exponentially since I've been president. You haven't heard me say word about it," Biden said, in an apparent reference to former President Donald Trump's frequent comments about the stock market. A Catholic private school in Massachusetts has been excommunicated by a local bishop after ignoring orders to remove pride and BLM flags. The Nativity School of Worcester has been sanctioned by Robert J. McManus, the Bishop of the Diocese of Worcester, for their refusal to take them down. He says the facility - the only tuition-free private school in the region - cannot continue to call itself Catholic while flying in the face of key church teachings. The school, run by Principal Emily Kent is the only tuition-free private middle school in the region and serves about 60 students.

Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says anyone who has the disease must not have sex. But for those who ignore the advice, the agency has published an unusual list of the dos and donts under the bedsheets. Among its tips was also to have sex while still fully-clothed, to ensure all rashes are covered and even to avoid kissing.(Snip)The British Columbia Center for Disease Control said people should 'use barriers, like walls (e.g. glory holes)
