It was like the hip-hop equivalent of “Weekend at Bernie’s.” Washington, DC’s Bliss nightclub has apologized over an appalling spectacle in which the body of slain rapper Goonew was reportedly displayed on their stage at his own funeral. The memorial service took place Sunday, weeks after the hip-hopper was shot dead at 24 years old.(Snip)The statement was posted amid trending Twitter footage that reportedly showed the slain rapper, whose real name is Markelle Morrow, apparently propped up onstage at Bliss nightclub while mourners raved around him like an Irish wake. The hip-hopper’s corpse was decked out in a hoodie, a blinged-out watch and a crown.

The whole rap and hip-hop sub-culture is a violent place where death if far too common, and killing people over turf or "disrespect" is a daily occurrence.
This doesn't shock me at all. Just as nasty, evil, and ugly as the whole rap and hip-hop sub-culture!!!

#5, I believe Mr. Goonew meant to spell his stage name as Gnu. Apologies to gnus everywhere.

Chances are we are seeing a new aspect of Black ghetto culture being exposed for the first time. Since it is a Black thing that only ghetto Black people will understand and appreciate, White people should just shut up about that displayed corpse. Unfortunately the media did not tell us if Biden or Harris stopped by to pay their respects?

It doesn't seem possible that the rap and hip-hop subculture could hit a new low, but it just gets more and more depraved. Kids growing up in this sewer of a subculture know nothing of moral values.

Just another example of all cultures are equal, that some are not better than others.

Given the excesses of rap and hip hop culture, why did this surprise anyone? His family was apparently ok with it since they arranged the funeral party. The attendees obviously weren't offended. Would it have been better if the had left him in a coffin on the stage? Not my cup of tea at all, but it was their (distasteful) decision.

Weeks after he was killed? Goonew must have been fairly ripe by then. When Corn Pop passes expect the fraud president to show up for that one. Club Bliss will have to be fumigated after this 'display'. RIP Mr. Goonew.

As the song goes:
Prop me up beside the juke box when I go.
Fill my boots up with sand.
Put a stiff drink in my hand...

Prop me up against the jukebox if I die. Didn't Joe Diffy do a country music video back in the 90's with this theme?

Where has he been since March 18th? He should be pretty ripe by now. Also, how did they get ahold of his body?

At least when Chicago pimp Willie the Wimp was propped up in his Cadillac Coffin it was at a funeral home.
And here we are on the slippery slope of cultural decay. Thugs had way more class back then.
For more information about this story , listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Willy The Wimp."

The good news is that another rapper is dead. When this garbage began to hit the airwaves in the 70s I gave it two years at best. I severely underestimated the public's taste for garbage. Where else can a no-talent potty-mouth make big money without working other than by selling drugs?

$40 a pop (EBT accepted) to twerk and chill with a dead rapper decked out in a hoodie, a blinged-out watch, and a crown. Y'all crakkas can't dig the nuance is all.
