Secret Service paying over $30K per month

Hunter Biden is apparently spending his father's presidency living in luxury in Malibu -- and so is his taxpayer-funded security detail. The Secret Service detail protecting the president's controversial son has been paying more than $30,000 a month to rent out a swanky Malibu, California, mansion for nearly a year, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News. The agency responsible for protecting the president and his family -- among other ranking government officials -- selected the property in order to be located as close as possible to Biden's own rented mansion where he is paying about $20,000 a month according to property

I wonder if Joe (or Hunter) owns that adjoining swanky mansion? Doesn't Joe make a little side income renting out some shack at one (or more) of his estates to the Sec Service for their guard house? Now, if some legitimate foreign terrorist group had a credible threat against family members of a sitting (or recent) US President, I might agree that some Sec Service protection is necessary. But being Hunter's on-call chauffers is not.

There was a time when American presidents left office without millions of dollars. Not now. It’s ridiculous that the taxpayers have to pay for Secret Service protection for the children of presidents. Obama has three (!) multi-million dollar mansions and we’re paying for agents to shadow Sasha and Malia. Barbara and Jenna Bush can afford their own protection if they really need it. And don’t get me started on Chelsea Clinton! It’s long past time to put a stop to this …. we had a revolution because we didn’t like being ruled by a king and treated like serfs. Why do we accept this?

Let's be serious. Obama's went to Hawaii during eight Christmas Holidays of his presidency. Partially to avoid having to attend Christian Christmas services in D.C. Each trip, including large jets cost taxpayers about Eighteen Million. Well over one hundred million during his eight year stretch. Here is a better one: because he is so stupid, he required a tele-prompter crew whenever he spoke, even to a group of very young children. Total cost was one million per month or 96 million for his disastrous term!!

The agents probably don't complain too much. Picture it, you could defend Our Great Republic by freezing in a trench in South Korea or roasting somewhere in the Middle East while serving in the army, or you could mingle with the glitterati while living in a deluxe mansion where the rent alone costs more then some people earn in a year of work. We used to laugh about societal gradations in the Soviet Union or in any Banana Republic, where the leaders feasted on every luxury available while their subjects wondered where their next meal was coming from, but this is now the norm in America, where our ruling class lives like celebrities while making sure the rest of us live in deprivation.

The story is that GWB did not travel for Christmas Day so the many of the SS could spend the day with their families. He went to his ranch much of the time where less SS was needed. I suppose some SS was always at the ranch. Did PIAPS rent her Chappaqua garage to the SS for the amount of the mortgage payment for the house? I'm wondering.....does PDT require the SS to pay rent at Mar-A-Lago? There was some chatter that PDT could not return to live in NYC because it would be too difficult for the SS. (Hmm.....now, who is being considerate of the taxpayers?)

Strange is it not...that a "story" about Hunter Bidens security costs includes many many lists of costs and trips for others, particularly Trumps "Family" but mentions narry a bit about Hunters constant SS Security detail while he was Son of VP...they were along for all of his coke/prostitute binges here in the USA as well as abroad, over 200 trips overseas during Joe's 8 years as VP. Secret Service senior agents even had to go track down Hunter, spend hours trying to wake him up "Post Binge" and arrange for refunds/repayments to a Russian Pimp because Hunter had spent $thousands$ on Pater Joes Credit card when his own cards had been maxxed out.
