A wave of startups are using slick TikTok ads and loosened drug regulations to sell prescription medications for ADHD like Adderall and Vyvanse, raising ethical and legal questions from doctors.(Snip) However, the DEA changed its implementation of the act in 2020 due to the coronavirus, allowing doctors to prescribe “schedule II through V” drugs — a category that includes narcotics like Adderall and Vicodin but excludes marijuana — through the internet. The measure will remain in place until the public health emergency of the coronavirus is over, according to the DEA.

It has been one of the most enduring Covid conspiracy theories: that the 'gold standard' PCR tests used to diagnose the virus were picking up people who weren't actually infected. Some even suggested the swabs, which have been carried out more than 200 million times in the UK alone, may mistake common colds and flu for corona.(Snip)Last month a report by the research charity Collateral Global and academics at Oxford University concluded as much, stating that as many as one third of all positive cases may not have been infectious. If they are right, that's a potentially staggering number – roughly six million cases.

Some stories make so little sense that all you can do is scratch your head. Others are so infuriating that you want to pull your hair out. Then there are those that are so outrageous your head feels as if it will explode. This story provokes all three reactions. It starts with a strange, little-known fact: Russia is acting as a go-between for the United States in nuclear talks with Iran.(Snip)Unfortunately, the story was true, and even more alarming, Russia continues to direct the nuclear talks with America’s approval while its army simultaneously turns Ukraine’s cities into rubble, mercilessly killing civilians

Russia is reportedly weighing moves to scrap trademark protections for companies tied to “unfriendly” countries — measures that could clear the way to reopen Russia’s McDonald’s stores without permission. Russian state-owned media outlet TASS recently published a report noting officials from the Ministry of Economic Development were considering lifting restrictions on intellectual property, including some trademarks. The report mentioned products and goods from “Western companies” following a mass exodus from Russia in response to the Ukraine invasion.(Snip)The Washington Post was first to report on the subject — noting Russia has essentially legalized patent theft through its actions.

Decatur, Ill.(WAND) - Everyone is feeling pain at the pump right now, but farmers are facing steep prices ahead of planting season. There were no traffic jams. The convoy was orderly, almost precision-like in its discipline. The protesters gave the right of way to other vehicles using the highway, staying in the right-hand lane for the entire circuit. It was peaceful. A resurfaced blackface photo wasn’t enough to get Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau or former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam fired, but a medical researcher was forced out of her senior vice president position last month after dressing up as Michael Jackson for Halloween in 2009. Dr. Julie Overbaugh was an award-winning senior vice president at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (“Fred Hutch”) and a faculty member at the University of Washington Medical Center. She’s known for her research on HIV in Kenya. But her career is being ruined over a costume. America is still buying Russian oil, thereby funding, in part, President Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked, unjustified and uncivilized invasion of Ukraine. Yet at the same time, American organizations are canceling Russian musicians who do not directly denounce Putin, the man who wields power over not just their livelihoods but their lives. It’s easy to make smug, self-congratulatory grand gestures. It’s harder to consider the complications of music-making in a time of war — and the danger of putting political prohibitions on art and artists. Conductor Valery Gergiev and soprano Anna Netrebko are arguably the two greatest Russian classical musicians of our time. New York cultural powerhouses showed both the door

Although critical race theory has only come to the forefront of American politics in the last year, an email obtained by The Federalist dating back to 2016 proves the divisive ideology has been entrenched in American K-12 schools for much longer, sometimes where some least expect it. Most people will need to get a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose to be protected from the virus, the head of Pfizer said on Sunday. “It is necessary for most” people, CEO Albert Bourla said during an interview on CBS’s “Face The Nation” when asked if Americans can expect to get annual COVID booster shots every fall. The regimen of two initial doses plus a booster is not able to protect against variants and wanes too quickly in strength, Bourla conceded—making additional shots inevitable. “Right now, the protection that you’re getting from the third [shot], it is good enough—actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths—it’s not that good
