Ukraine: What do I Know?

Original Article

My brother-in-law long hosted a radio show called “Whad’ya know?” The answer to which was always, “Not much.” I feel that way about the Russian attacks on Ukraine. It’s not that I haven’t tried. I’ve read everything I consider reliable on the subject and can’t begin to answer if the Russians are bogged down or simply regrouping. If they or the Ukrainians will win this fight. (Snip) I know that we've been bombarded by propaganda on both sides, and the Ukrainians have been particularly effective in making Putin the world’s pariah and his country along with him, despite the fact that thousands of Russians taking great risks are openly protesting

Comments:

There are some very good points here. But she leaves out a critical fact: That George Soros and the World Economic Forum, and the worldwide left, are passionately pushing a Ukraine win. Therefore I believe they control the Ukraine government. So do we want to spend our treasure on keeping the global overlords in power, or let the communist dictator have his way? It's a hell of a choice.

It is more serious to shell civilian apartments than it is to give or take bribes. And while it is true Ukraine has been the tip of the spear in terms of international efforts to make Russia a pariah, that is probably something to do with the Holodomor and also something to do with the fact that Russia thinks the Ukrainian identity should not exist. Women who have been beaten and choked and then escaped, are sometimes unjust in the way they speak of their ex-boyfriends but we don't leave them to their fate for that. Soros is a monster but the penalty for taking his money is not injury and death and thermobaric weapons parked a mile away. In short you can't ignore those dragged away to death because they committed smaller sins and are friends with people who hate you.

Fresh off the epic betrayal of the American people by their elected officials in Afghanistan and the ongoing betrayal on the Mexican border, Americans are right not to trust anyone. When Leftist whores like Hillary Clinton suddenly disdain Russia for strictly nefarious and political purposes and the Biden family whores create ill-gotten wealth from Ukraine and China, Americans know too much to mindlessly sacrifice for that side, either. What anti-Trumpers refuse to concede is that we are led by a ship of fools and a parliament of whores and changing leadership away from the ruling class has never been more crucial.

The saying "Follow the $$$" should apply here. Who is getting wealthy, financially, politically, or both? The MIC (military industrial complex) won't suffer. The PIC (political industrial complex) wont suffer either. Who will suffer? The Ukrainian populace. The Russian populace. FJB has succeeded in distracting everyone from his multitude of failures in just over a year in office. Everything he has touched is fubared. The Ukrainians and Russians are cannon fodder for FJB's distraction. Unfortunately, FJB will fubar the distraction. Putin does not get distracted. He is smart, mean and ruthless Soviet KGB. He will get what he wants no matter how long it takes.

Let's take a step back...drop the emotional response that liberals are so famous for invoking, and look at this logically. This is a European issue, and not one that involves the US. NATO is a military tiger with many loose and missing teeth, including the US. NATO is a 75 year old alliance that needs to disband itself. It won the Cold War, and is now aimlessly looking for a reason to survive. It's become a comic book justice league of has-been and never-were super heroes. It fosters the belief that the Russians are the world's greatest problem while sucking up to the oligarchs for commodities, ignoring China, which expands its global influence daily without firing a shot, and too big to effectively sanction. And Americans just don't get it - never do, it seems. We need to fight, project our power for the right. Negotiation is "appeasement". George Washington gave us some sage advice 220 years ago: Avoid permanent alliances (like NATO), and don't get entangled in foreign intrigues ( such as Ukraine). Of course, he was the first liberal president of the US, no? Let's defend and restore democracy where neded most...here at home.

I agree none of the reports are as they seem. One doesn't need any reports to see Putin probably expected to walk in and take over in a few days with little violence. Obviously that isn't happening. Also Russia is one of the main forces that still opposes the one world-socialist/fascists force that is George Soros so of course Soros is against Putin, this doesn't mean he is on Ukraine's or our side. Soros is for Soros.

I don't often agree with #9 MDConservative but in this case I agree that NATO is the main cause with oligarchs such as Soros and Schwab in the background instigating mistrust. The Russians are historically paranoid. It is why the Warsaw Pact was formed - a buffer zone. When the Pact dissolved the Russians insisted their former client states should remain neutral but NATO and the West's military industrial complex soon began absorbing and arming them. When Ukraine leadership began courting NATO and the EU Putin's paranoia kicked in. Soros and Schwab fed the Ukrainian corrupt politico's fervors and now we have an invasion. This could have been prevented if NATO had just said we will not accept Ukraine into the alliance. Yes, Putin is crimanally mad, but we already knew that and Western hubris pushed him into this debacle.

Fundamentally, the USA is undone here by immorality and dishonesty. Some in Ukraine realized they could buy favors by feeding millions of dollars to Joe and Hunter Biden, as well as perhaps a score of US senators who established personal "foundations" in furtherance of whatever. John McCain and Lindsay Graham are among those on this list, but there are several others who were prone to paying visits to Ukraine and meeting with one corrupt faction or another, away with substantial donations to their foundations. There likely are a few politicos who have received similar friendly contributions from the Russians, as (again) Hunter and Joe did, receiving $3+ million from Russia's wealthiest female oligarch, the widow of one of Moscow's mayors--apparently, for doing nothing. The CIA and the FBI should have exposed this persistent graft and corruption, and pushed for the prosecution and imprisonment of these political offenders. Instead, they remained silent, hid Hunter's laptop, and held these secrets in their pockets for the day when they might use them to buy favors or blackmail the offenders into backing down from challenging the corruption lurking in their own political catacombs within both the CIA and the FBI. It's corrupt, underhanded, dishonest, and immoral.

Some who claim to be conservatives are calling Ukraine and Ukrainians "neo-Nazis" and "the enemy" in comments. I doubt that these experts have ever even met a Ukrainian or a Russian, even for a few minutes, let alone worked with them for months and years. And they are supporting Putin and Russia, invaders of this small country. They are massively misinformed and disinformed by Russian propaganda, or are perhaps paid Russian propagandists. I can't tell, but I am certain, from what I know personally that they are wrong. My support of Ukraine and Ukrainians is just exactly that. A careful observer may have noted that any of my comments about Zelensky by me have been something like "seems to be a good guy". I don't know much about him, and he may be a Ukrainian like Obama was an American. Or like Carter, or Biden....corrupt or wrong, or both. I DON'T KNOW. I am trying to learn about Zelensky, maybe he's good, maybe not. I can distinguish between supporting a country and supporting a particular poitical party or regime in that country. For example, I am a patriot of the USA and support most Americans during WW2, but i despise Frankline Roosevelt and his Stalin Communist VP Wallace, and all of the leftists that he put into political power, and all the harm that they did here an late in the war, handing eastern Europe to Stalin. It is easy for me to separate supporting a country and the people from supporting a leader or his minions. Another example, I am NOT a supporter of most of the US presidents of the last 40+ years. I never trusted Bush, Sr, and was fooled for a whole by Bush, Jr., but always despised Carter, Clinton, Obama and Biden. All horrible men who ran the country in the wrong directions internationally and in domestic politics. I strongly supported Reagan and Trump, supported Bush, Jr, but no longer. I am pretty sure that former president Yulia Timoshenko made an effort to run Ukraine well, but Putin crushed her with control of natural gas, and massive undermining via Russian banks which controlled much in Ukraine, and many corrupt Ukrainian bureaucrats who actually worked for Putin, but she may have been corrupt, too, not certain. And former president Viktor Yushchenko, nearly killed by poisoning, certainly by Putin, also seemed to be a good Ukrainian president, although the same Putin allies and energy control by Putin made his time very difficult. Former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych was brought to power by Putin's corruption of the Ukrainian elections, and was totally working for Putin, not for Ukriane and totally corrupt. I was in the country for these last two president's terms, and while I avoided discussing politics, some times Ukrainian colleagues volunteered their views. Yanukovych was hugely despised as a Putin stooge, and known to be massively corrupt while still in office. He imprisoned Yulia Timoshenko for years and she nearly died from his maltreatment in prison. And when deposed, Russian stooge Yanukovych fled to Russia, where he still lives. A Putin puppet and traitor to Ukraine. So - am I supporting Zelensky? I really don't know enough about Zelensky to have much of an opinion on him. I certainly make no political comments via e-mail with my Ukrainian friends, not wanting to get them into any trouble, as I am sure that email there is also read by various political forces. Zelensky may be the real deal, maybe not, I don't know. I have been told nothing about him by my Ukrainian friends. I do know that the Ukraine that I worked in and dealt with for about 8 years from mid 2000s well into the 20-teens was NOT a 'neo-Nazi' country by any stretch. I saw a lot of political signs, organizing tents, rallies and demonstrations in multiple cities. NEVER anything nazi related, absolutely nothing. I think this is purely a Putin propaganda smear, just like Trueado and his evil thugs in Canada used, and our Demonrats use against American patriots recently, and repeatedly. A variant of "racist".

So, it is OK to let Putin finalize what Stalin started about 90 years ago by murdering millions of Ukrainians and replacing them with Russians in the eastern part of Ukraine, which is the best farmland in the country, and some of the best in the world. So, peel off the most food productive part of Ukraine, with the most modern agriculture and let Putin take that, and his bases on the Black Sea, already STOLEN about 7 years ago, and "no harm, no foul"? I have zero interest in our troops or aircraft getting into this war, but we should provide Ukraine with weapons to defend their country. If they want to be free bad enough, they can defend it. I'm amazed at the hate of people by many 'conservatives' of people who want to be free, not much different than we wanted to be free from England, or Hungary or Poland wanted to be free of the Soviet Union.

During an appearance on FBN’s “Mornings with Maria,” Sen. Word from the battlegrounds in Ukraine is scattered and cannot always be confirmed, but some credible accounts give every indication that Putin may have blundered and faces a stronger defense than he (or the Biden administration) imagined possible. The bravery of a former comedian elected the Ukrainian President and a multimillionaire former boxing champion, now the mayor of Kyiv, who refused flight and stayed to defend their homeland at great risk of their lives, is part of the story. But to my mind, the memory of the Holodomor in which Russia’s Stalin starved to death millions of Ukrainians plays an even greater role and explains why so many ordinary citizens

California doctors who object to assisted suicide are fighting an amended state law that implicates them in their patients' intentional deaths. They are suing California officials, including Attorney General Rob Bonta, Department of Public Health Director Tomas Aragon, and Medical Board members to block SB 380, which made it easier for patients to commit suicide under the End of Life Options Act that took effect in 2016. The original law issued a broad exemption for healthcare providers, granting them a liability shield for "refusing to inform" patients about their right to physician-assisted suicide and "not referring" patients to physicians who will assist in their suicides.
