The constant push to virtue signal to the idol of social justice is causing some of our historically trusted institutions of academia, health care, and journalism to lose the public’s trust and is further splintering our nation. Minnesota seems to be in the epicenter of it all.
The Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota recently endowed a new scholarship to honor George Perry Floyd Jr. It’s the wrong decision and undermines the work of the civil rights movement and what we communicate to black American children across the country.

Geroge Floyd had an athletic scholarship to a south Florida community college, but failed to complete the two-year course of study because of drug use. Memorializing a drug-addled street thug is ridiculous.
If he had been doing what he was supposed to be doing [spending time with his 6-year old daughter, reading, going to the park, helping her with her homework, etc.] instead of doing drugs with two low-lifes in another state, he would still be alive. The whole incident should have been a routine bust with him being booked and jailed for drug possession and usage. The cops messed-up bad, but he put himself in that position. Notice that his accomplice, Morris Lester Hall, gave a false name and was released from the scene of the incident. He was later found to have outstanding warrants for illegal firearms possession by a felon, drug possession, and felony domestic assault. He refused to testify for the defense, pleading 5th amendment protection.

In my personal opinion, George was a great man. He dabbled with investing in alternative currencies which unfortunately didn't work out for him. His main love was his profession of testing pharmaceuticals and making sure they were safe for the public. He died doing what he loved, testing pharmaceuticals to determine safe amounts of various products to consume.

Yes a great man. Worthy of a statue and a square named after him. Now a scholarship. Blacks are certainly well represented by George Floyd.
Fact is there are more George Floyd's than there are Martin Luther King's.

I never thought I would live long enough to see confederate statues, Columbus, Rebel flags, Tomas Jefferson's statue removed and replaced with a monument, scholarship of a black drug user street thug. Yes, the left social justice warriors sure due aim low this is a great example. Let's go George Floyd.
