Regina, Saskatchewan—A series of stabbings in two communities in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan left 10 people dead and 15 wounded, authorities said Sunday. Police are looking for two suspects. The stabbings took place in multiple locations on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the village of Weldon, northeast of Saskatoon, police said. Rhonda Blackmore, the Assistant Commissioner of the RCMP Saskatchewan, said some of the victims appear to have been targeted by the suspects but others appear to have been attacked at random. She couldn't provide a motive. "It is horrific what has occurred in our province today," Blackmore said. She said there are 13 crime scenes

I guess these killings aren't too bad since they weren't killed by a gun.

Those Canadians are truly impressive in that they only need bladed instriuments to rack up a much higher casualty count than a South Side Chicago gangbanger with an extended-magazine Nine. Whaddaya say, Mr Trudeau, time for some common-sense knife control?

I thought Trudeau collected all the guns to prevent assaults like this. A bad guy, if he wants to kill you, will find a way and if guns are against the law, trust me, that means absolutely nothing to a criminal. It just puts innocent law abiding citizens at risk. Of course, those with security surrounding them and their families 24/7 don’t feel quite as anxious about this. Idiots.

I guess if I lived in Canada, I'd start hoarding knives. You're not going to have them for long.

I carry a little Kel Tec .380. People denigrate it as a “mouse gun”. Let some knife wielding nutball come for me and let me put five rounds in his face. He won’t be calling it a mouse gun. For now I can legally carry. With the the Fascist administration I am not sure how long I will be “permitted” to defend myself.

Parliament must stop the killer knife madness. It just makes me sick to know those people would be alive today if only our elected leaders had the courage to challenge the knife lobby and the International Knife Association.
Write your MPs today. Demand an outright ban on the so called Saturday Night knives, which are easily concealed, cheap, foreign imports. Insist that all Assault knives (those with black handles and blades over 4 inches which are capable of striking rapid, multiple blows) be confiscated and destroyed.
In this modern age, there is no good reason for anyone to own an knife. Only government meat cutters and the military should be allowed to possess one.
Parliament will continue to cower before the IKA lobby, so an outright ban may never happen. But if enough of us demand it, there will be a police record check and five day waiting period before anyone can buy an knife.
Another thing is those supersharp knives. They call them, "kitchen knives." They advertise them on TV slicing through a soft tomato, but we know the real purpose of them, don't we? Those sneaky ad agencies named them Ginsu because they're for martial arts fanatics and paramilitary freaks. What kind of Neanderthal would want such a thing in his home? No decent human being needs a sharp knife.
And those screwdrivers. How many more murders?

When the knife confiscation begins, I hope you Canadians know how to cut your meat with a fork. Oh wait, you won't be eating meat for long, Trudeau wants to replace it with ground-up crickets. Isn't Communism grand?

Not that easy to kill someone with an edged weapon. The perps must have attacked in a targeted and effective manner, surgical if you will. That or prolific slashing/stabbing which seems unlikely with the body count.
So yeah, scary in any case, they need to be stopped asap.

Good attitude, #12, but with Speer Gold Dots or Hornady FTX Critical Defense ammo, the conventional upper chest shot will work and is a more certain and easier to hit target than head shots. I generally carry a .45 Colt, but at times, my P3AT is what I have. And my wife carries a .380 every day, and I train her to make upper chest shots.
That said, read up on "The Mozambique Drill" as a backup strategy.

#12, I have an older Kel-Tech 380 with very little use, unfortunately it's failure rate is high and I wouldn't rely on it.

I was stunned when Trudeau went on TV a couple months ago and said, Canadians “do not have the right to use a gun in self defense.” I guess all the victims were abiding by little Fidel’s edicts. If these drug addled killers had been met with gunfire, imagine how many lives might have been saved. Put this on Trudeau and Canada’s tyrannical government

How do you stab anyone with an AK? You mean there are other weapons than a firearm that can be used in "mass killings"? And Canada has such stringent gun laws these days.

Interesting #24. My P3AT has never once had a malfunction of any kind. I have fired perhaps 500 or 600 rounds through it in practice, I mostly practice with other guns, but it has functioned perfectly for me.
KelTec has a great reputation for light weight, low cost and innovative designs, but a spotty reputation for reliability.
But, my particular P3AT has been solid gold for me, although admittedly, a 8 ounce .380 has pretty snappy recoil, which tends to discourage practice. And practice is necessary.
I hear that they have discontinued the model, I guess too many copies out there, the P3AT was the first ever micro, locked breech .380, but has been copied by many other companies, and the field is flooded with micro .380s now.

All it would have taken to end the attacks was one "seniorita pistol" in a potential victim's hand. I wouldn't want to visit--let along live--in a place where armed self defense is illegal. Criminals will always have whatever weapon they can lay their hands on. Laws don't matter to criminals. Colt even made their 21st Century version of their iconic .357 Magnum revolver, the Python, with a 4.25 inch barrel (instead of 4") because they were trying to sell a few of them in Canada pre-Justin Castreau. Tough luck, Colt. Tough luck, Canucks. Vote for better people next time. Here in Murica, we're in nearly as bad shape as our northern neighbors.

Re #28: In recent years firearms manufacturers have produced numerous small 9mm (9x19mm) and .380 (9x17mm) pistols that are widely used in legal self defense. Especially with a hot +P load, small 9mm pistols can be quite snappy and not a lot of fun to shoot on the range. Being uncomfortable to shoot is a characteristic that several of the .380s share with the 9mm because they're even smaller and lighter. When you're carrying you want your gun to be as compact and light as possible; when you're shooting you want the gun to be, within reason, as large as possible because that's easier to control. There's always a trade off. If you want larger capacity in .380, check out the Ruger LCP Max with capacity of 10+1 or 12+1 with extended magazine, which enables most shooters to get a full three finger grip in the shooting hand. A .380 is about half as powerful as 9mm, but in most situations, 'twill suffice, like the tip end of Tybalt's sword piercing the vitals. Armed robbers aren't Mercutio, though. If ol' Merc had had a Ruger LCP, Will with All the Words wouldn't have had to write him out of the play.

When is Canada going to get "Knife Control" to end this terrible crime wave. Surely they can find a better and safer way to cut up their pies, bread, vegetables and meat without all of those dangerous and deadly knives. "Knife Control Now!"
