A Colorado school district was forced to cancel classes on Thursday after teachers called out sick to protest decisions made by the district's conservative-majority school board. I think the School Board should put a Huge Ad in the Papers announcing a need for TEACHERS who want to teach! Then they should hire a lot of Teacher SUBS. They should also pass a Rule that if a Teacher calls in Sick just to join a Protest, they should be fired. Teachers should not be allowed to shut down the Ability for schools to teach their Students. Enough! This is a POWER struggle between the School Board and the Leftist Teachers and Administrators who were used to having their own way. I hope the Board wins (for the sake of the Kids)! These Teachers did not just shut down one school, it sounds like they shut down ALL schools in the District! That has to be stopped!

I am astonished at how hard teachers and their unions work to make people hate them. It's going to be ugly when we get strong leadership. There is (or used to be) an unwritten contract between parents and teachers. Parents worked to pay the taxes for the schools and teachers' salaries; and teachers kept schools open so that parents could work. Public school teachers broke the contract when they started making good money. I love it when sanctimonious teachers announce "we are not babysitters!" Well, ladies, yes you are in a certain sense...now get back to work and teach children without masks and in school rooms so parents can go to work to make the money to afford you.

The crowdfunding platform GoFundMe says it will stop payments to the organizers of Freedom Convoy 2022 because the protest violates its rules on violence and harassment . The company announced its decision in a blog post Friday evening, just two days after it froze disbursements of the fund. "GoFundMe supports peaceful protests and we believe that was the intention of the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser when it was first created," the company said in the post. "We now have evidence from law enforcement that the previously peaceful demonstration has become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity."

They're doing it again. According to news reports, the Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives plans to sharply cap attendance at the State of Union address. The speech has already been postponed to March 1, its latest date in history. Now President Biden will appear before an underpopulated, socially distanced chamber for the second year in a row. Although it's become a fixture of the political calendar, giving a major public address is not among the president's formal responsibilities. Instead, the Constitution requires

U.S. companies unexpectedly cut jobs in January for the first time in a year, as a surge in the highly contagious omicron coronavirus variant battered the labor market's recovery from the pandemic, according to the ADP National Employment Report released Wednesday morning. Companies shed 301,000 jobs last month, sharply missing the 207,000-job gain that economists surveyed by Refinitiv had predicted and a major drop from the downwardly revised gain of 776,000 in December. It marked the first time that ADP reported negative growth since December 2020, when companies shed 123,000 jobs before the vaccines were available. "The labor market recovery
