16 Penn Swimmers Say Trans Teammate Lia

Is the dam finally breaking on maintaining the fantasy that trans women do not have an inherent advantage over biological females in competitive sports? Sixteen members of the University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team sent a letter to the school and to the Ivy League, asking them not to take legal action that would challenge the new NCAA rules for transgender athletes to compete. The new rules would make it very difficult for their trans teammate, Lia Thomas, to compete as a female. The 16 swimmers — out of 39 on the team — are asking that Thomas be sidelined. “We fully support Lia Thomas in her decision to affirm

Some sanity on this OBVIOUS issue? Amazing. Men should not pretend to be women to compete in sports. How hard is that to see?

A third rate guy becomes an elite female athlete because the natural difference between the sexes is that great. I don't know who this guy is but I wouldn't be shocked if he detransitions right after graduation. Meanwhile, he has so distorted the record books that real women will never catch up. This travesty should NEVER have been allowed.

The rules are the rules. If Thomas is on a swimming scholarship, pulling it would result in a wonderfully sticky discrimination lawsuit. "Her" competing in the second-tier women's division is classic irony. Appreciate it. The ladies supported all this. Now they can have it. Exactly what's their beef? "Equality" isn't fair...

Ya know I would feel differently about this but the very people who say “if he feels like a woman than he is a woman” are the students who now feel that they have no chance to win against her/him/he/she/IT. I hear students all the time say-oh he thinks he is a woman. Well then swim against this man who THINKS he is a woman and stop complaining. We told you so. Now do not come crying to us when you realize this was a BAD idea. And your parents will probably still send in donations to the college as alumns. If SHE is really committed then cut off your male parts but SHE wont do this because she is not that committed. Easy to say, “I want to play a girl for now to win all the prizes”. Other than that he probably has a mostly peaceful penis.

Re #8: "Lia" is an XY-chromosome lesbian, meaning that he is still sexually attracted to his authentic female teammates--just as he was before the "transition"--and likes taking showers with them. And he still has all his inadequate equipment. And I completely agree with #6 in that this kind of behavior was effectively encouraged by not being absolutely forbidden, Old Testament style. The woman's record books will have to corrected, striking out every "record" set by a non-female. Otherwise, the "record book" means nothing. Maybe some enterprising but mediocre competitive cyclist ought to bring a special type of bicycle to the Tour de France: a motorcycle, because the cyclist identifies his motorcycle as a bicycle. After all, they're both two wheelers. No advantage, one over the other. Just win every stage by two hours, wear the yellow jersey, and set records no person can ever beat for the rest of human eternity. This "Lia" character ought to be made a bad example of so this kind of thing stops happening.

The female swimmers explained their position very clearly and fairly. Lia can be Lia, however Lia's biological sex and gender identity are very different things. Those differences are important and must be considered in the interests of fairness.

Why not resolve the issue by the NCAA restricting women to women's sports, men to men's sports, and by creating tranny category so they can compete with one another? Do not televise their sport if there is no demand from the public to watch them.

Have a separate category for each "gender", so males pretending to be females compete against other males pretending to be females. Or just have biology determine sports competition categories, the way it's always been done. "Gender identity" should have no role in athletics.

Even in death, the John McAfee saga grows stranger. More than seven months after he died in a Spanish jail, McAfee’s body remains in a prison morgue freezer somewhere in or near Barcelona. At the same time, the first of what is expected to be several attempts to detail the hard-to-believe exploits of the antivirus-software pioneer has arrived, a book whose contents are vigorously denied by McAfee’s family. Washington State took a big step this week towards passing a “wealth tax” on the state’s richest residents. The state — home to uberwealthy Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, among others — is holding senate hearings on SB 5426, which would portion a 1% tax on “paper wealth” like stocks, bonds, futures, and publicly traded options. I’m reading the text of the bill right now, and about the first 15-20% of it isn’t even actual law. It’s nothing but happy talk, like “Washington has long led the way with innovative and bold ideas that have changed the world.” And: “Washington’s wealthiest residents can and should share more equitably in

From Jeff Bezos to Joe Biden, noted Sinophiles and racists litter the landscape of the Left. For where there is slavery (China), and racist social division to be sown (America), there is enormous profit to be made. It is an established fact that leading Democrats are cliche-spewing tools who emote out of the southern end of their alimentary canals and whose neurotic hysteria sets the national agenda. Yet, they have amassed quite a lemminglike following of true believers, progressive foot soldiers who think things have not gone "far enough" in terms of silencing, humiliating, and otherwise eliminating the universal scourge of "whiteness itself."

The fact-checking industry, empowered by the vast resources of social media giants, is under sustained scrutiny amid a possible legal battle among the British Medical Journal, Facebook owner Meta and a contractor it pays to flag purported COVID-19 misinformation. Facebook stopped some readers from sharing a BMJ investigation of "data integrity" issues in a Pfizer COVID vaccine trial, BMJ editors wrote in an open letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in November. On the substance, the group is wrong, as Palestinian human rights activist Bassem Eid and U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch have eloquently shown. The group’s methodology is also flawed. After the release of the report, Lazar Berman, the Times of Israel’s diplomatic correspondent, interviewed Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard and the organization’s Middle East and North Africa Research and Advocacy Director Philip Luther. It means those who catch this strain could develop AIDS more quickly. The VB variant also has a viral load between 3.5 and 5.5 times higher than the current strain, meaning infected people are more likely to transmit the virus
