President Joe Biden will launch a slate of new actions Thursday aimed at combating rising crime and gun violence in major metropolitan areas across the country.
Biden will announce the new programs during a visit to New York City on Thursday with Mayor Eric Adams and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul."The President is committed to serving as a strong partner for communities on the frontlines of the fight against crime. That’s why his American Rescue Plan gives cities and states historic levels of funding that they can use to put more cops on the beat, and invest in community-based violence prevention and intervention programs," the White House said in a statement.

Fool me once, Joe. You think people want to see more good money given to blue states to waste while the DAs just do what they want, flaunting laws? You want to do something? (I know you don't) You arrest those DAs for not upholding the laws on the books. Everyone knows this "for show" crap is worthless.

Typical Democrat. First they create a problem that didn't exist so they can then look like heroes by coming up with a solution that was already in place until they cancelled it, like by defunding the police, as an example. Of course the solution is always at twice the price with lots of pork.

Gun control, again. Doing the same thing over and over again and forecasting a different result. Albert Einstein was but a prophet crying in the wilderness.

I am sure a huge government program to fund night basketball and forced vaccinations will solve crime in NYC.

Maybe he could issue and Presidential mandate telling criminals not to commit any more crimes.

Other inanimate objects that menace society with their violence: vehicles, aircraft, ladders, wet floors, and thousands of others. There is no “gun crime.” People commit crimes using any of an uncounted assortment of methods. Shall we register or ban computers? They cost more people in terms of crime than any other single source.
This isn’t a thing problem. It never has been. This is a people problem. Until you solve the issues that plague society (see the Bible for stories of the exact same behaviors), then crime will continue. It’s a soul and spirit thing, not a thing, thing.

Effective gun control is not that complicated -it just takes political courage which will never be shown. First -no bail or very high bail for any crime where a gun is involved. Second mandatory 20 years in prison for conviction of any crime where a gun was involved. Third mandatory life imprisonment for any crime where a person was injured or killed by use of a gun. Very shortly after enaction gun crimes would drop rapidly.

No pint in putting cops on the beat if they don't prosecute the criminals they catch. Just making the Police lives vulnerable and throwing away money.

FTA: "Stronger law enforcement is critical in stopping gun crime, but it’s made more effective when we make real investments in making our communities stronger and in addressing the causes of crime before it spills over into violence."
Throwing more money which we don't have at blue cities to pay off crooks.

Simply throwing a lot more federal money into the Democrat run cities will not stop so-called “gun violence” that really under the criminal law amounts to just plain old aggravated assaults and murders perpetrated by irresponsible violent criminals who consider those crimes to be an everyday reality in their “community’s” homicidal culture. Since the Democrats politicized street crime, fraudulently blaming the police, those criminals now believe that they are entitled to be cut loose by ultra liberal Democrat prosecutors to strike again targeting police officers and anyone else they decide to assault and murder. Notice that the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats always cast blame on a gun and not on the perpetrator as it is much more likely than not that the perpetrator is a member of a “community” that the Democrats consider as being necessary for them to seek support from to keep them, the Democrats in political power.

Lots of Federal spend, spend, spend that sounds like something but is really spinning wheels around doing nothing to actually solve the problem of CRIMINALS COMMITTING CRIMES AND GOING UNPUNISHED! Why doesn't Biden direct the Liberal DA's to FOLLOW THE LAWS and prosecute criminals once they are arrested. Why doesn't Biden encourage State Legislatures to review failed bail reform laws which release criminals to reek havoc on the streets of the USA without fear of prosecution. Why doesn't Biden JAIL then DEPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS who commit crimes (any crime!). Criminals rule the streets and they know it. Law enforcement has been rendered impotent by flaccid DAs whose limp enforcement of laws criminals to live like kings. Biden and other liberals have allowed this with their permissive policies.

How about using lethal force against violent criminals? Yes, blacks may die but they won't keep committing the same crime over and over again. Win-win, ask Michael Brown.

More taxpayer money to be stolen by democrats. While they line their pockets things just keep getting worse. Yea right, violence prevention and intervention programs. All bullsh**. The only programs you need are in place, long prison sentences with no bail or parole and build more prisons to house the animals. Until there are consequences there will be no improvements....

No, he isn’t. He is in New York with Merrick Garland. Another dog and pony show/photo op. Mayor Adams has to get his act together. And that renegade DA should get with the program or go.

How about trying “stop and frisk” for six months or so - see what happens. Then try it for another six months and another…. Practice makes perfect.

More money is not the answer. Crime will be contained when DAs ENFORCE laws and mayors support their police departments and make it clear that they will not look the other way when laws and their police departments are not respected. Money is not the vehicle to communicate that.

There’s no such thing as “gun violence” just as there’s no such thing as “homophobia”. They are just made up words for the left to use to push their agendas.
Get back to me on gun violence the first time a gun is arrested, indicted, tried, found guilty and sentenced to prison.

These crime-ridden Democ'RAT-run cities, where decent American Culture has been displaced by Urban Thug Culture, have demonstrated, over and over, that they don't need more GUN Control.
What they need is THUG Control.
The old saying rings true:
"When Guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have Guns."
But, just like Obama's 'Fast & Furious' gun-running operation, controlling crime is not their objective.
Their objective is Disarming the Law-Abiding Citizens.
It's a crucial step on the way to Tyranny.
Ask the Citizens of Australia.
