Two men sought by the family of Ashli Babbitt as witnesses to her shooting death at the U.S. Capitol have been identified as previously arrested by the FBI and indicted on federal charges from the Jan. 6 riots. The owner of a Texas winery is the “Gadsden Flag Man” who was in the center of the Speaker’s Lobby hallway just feet away when Ashli Babbitt was shot to death at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. A man from Mount Washington, Kentucky, indicted in March 2021 is the man seen on video in the orange-red jacket and gray cap who allegedly smashed a window in the Speaker’s Lobby door with the

A longtime LDotter, I never fail to be surprised when I see a lack of interest in the murder of an innocent woman and long threads for other far lesser subject matter. I remember when this would have been a really big deal here.

I have read several times- including this article- that she was shot “when she climbed into a window broken” by someone. I saw the video of the moment she was shot and she was not climbing in or through any window at that time. Did i mis-see? Am i mis-remembering? Is this meme merely repeated by people who never saw the video?

I saw video yesterday of the guy in glasses breaking a window after being slapped by Ashli. Video also showed him else where in the Capitol and he was wearing a dark cap with tan fur lined ear pieces. Who is he and where is he? And who was he working for?

As reply#1 says, we can’t understand the public disregard of the murder of Ashli Babbitt. This In contrast to the outrage, destruction and grief following the loss of now national hero George Floyd. Must have something to do with the attention given by our largely disgusting “press”, which is determined by the color and political persuasion of the people involved

Re #2, I saw the full, unedited video almost immediately after it happened. It showed her, a tiny woman, milling around through the men in front of the door. The glass pane had been broken out - just the top part. A large piece of glass pane was still fixed in the lower frame. She found a man to boost her on his back so that she could see through the door pane. A witness said she was trying to take photos through the broken out part of the pane. Almost immediately Byrd lurched forward from a room on the left where he’d hidden and shot her. I could see his arm, his dark skin, his black and white bead bracelet, the lurch of his weapon when he fired, she fell straight backward. Her face was not through the broken glass pane.

I wonder whether Byrd was told to murder the first vet with an honorable discharge he saw, or just any old honky? This is what passes for heroism in the swamp.

The dynamic between the Joe Biden administration and the government of Ukraine is very interesting and thoroughly corrupt. President Volodymyr Zelensky is trying to avoid being the 2022 version of Libyan President Muammar Gadaffi, circa 2011. Meanwhile, the entirety of the corrupt and manipulative Joe Biden administration, the U.S. State Department, the CIA, the Pentagon and the U.S. Congress are all saying, “Nice country you got there, it’d be a shame if something happened to it“, while simultaneously poking the Russian bear to attack. With Justice Stephen Breyer officially announcing his retirement on Thursday (a full 24 hours after the White House announced it for him), Senate Democrats will have a chance to fill a Supreme Court seat, likely before the 2022 midterm elections in November. But ever since 2017, when Senate Republicans invoked the nuclear option to confirm Supreme Court justices at a simple majority, instead of at the usual 60 votes necessary to break a filibuster, there has been procedurally little minorities can do to prevent a nomination from moving forward (the outright lies, smears, and chaos tactics Senate Democrats employed against Justice Brett Kavanaugh notwithstanding).

Several state courts issued major election integrity rulings this week that could have a profound effect on elections in swing states ahead of the 2022 midterms. The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court ruled on Friday that the state’s “no-excuse” mail-in voting law, also known as Act 77, violates the state’s Constitution which requires in-person voting for most people who don’t fit the state’s list of exceptions. In a 3-2 decision, the court’s conservative majority determined that the expansion of mail-in voting put ballots in the hands of constitutionally ineligible people.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday took a thinly veiled shot at Joe Biden, saying “I am the President of Ukraine. I am based here. JOE Biden has reportedly warned Ukraine's president to "prepare for impact" as Russia could invade within days. It's understood the US president told Volodymyr Zelensky that a February invasion is now "virtually certain" with more than 120,000 Russian troops massed on the border within striking distance.A Ukrainian official reportedly told CNN that the call on Thursday "did not go well" as Zelensky relayed dire warnings from Biden that Moscow "may attempt to occupy" the capital. But the White House has hit back at these claims, instead insisting Biden has warned about a potentially imminent invasion "for months".

A call between US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday "did not go well," a senior Ukrainian official told CNN, amid disagreements over the "risk levels" of a Russian attack. They did state that Biden warned Zelensky an imminent invasion is a "distinct possibility."
