Axios, CNN, WaPo: Let's face it, the CDC
has a major credibility crisis

Original Article

How good of them to notice! Most people discounted CDC and FDA credibility after they admitted to “noble lies” such as that on masking, but recently the CDC have stepped up their game on obvious incompetence and politicization. The impression of desperate flailing had already been made on many Americans prior to this, but now media outlets like Axios have sat up and taken notice: While much of the unvaccinated population is unlikely to be persuaded by any messenger, large swaths of the public are still receptive to expert guidance, but federal health agencies, particularly the CDC, may be squandering their credibility with this population.

Lest we forget, before covid entered the lexicon the CDC was studiously ignoring - to benefit the Democrats - the return of TB and other 'extinct' diseases courtesy of a flood of illegal aliens. Their big push at the time was classifying racism as a disease. Naturally, the study of this chimera would require many federal dollars, require many high-salary CDC positions to address it. The usual cliches would be uttered, nothing learned, nothing gained. They were and are a political body.

Since all the right leaning media realized the CDC was not credible and all the left leaning media did not and even went out of their way to try to censor every one else - the major credibility crisis is the left media.

There’s a new Quinnipiac poll out today and the news is not good for Joe Biden. Americans give President Joe Biden a negative 33 – 53 percent job approval rating, while 13 percent did not offer an opinion. In November 2021, Americans gave Biden a negative 36 – 53 percent job approval rating with 10 percent not offering an opinion. Among Democrats in today’s poll, 75 percent approve, 14 percent disapprove and 11 percent did not offer an opinion. In a November poll, 87% of Democrats approved

If this is their way of trying to hide the bad COVID news from the public in order to help Democrats, they’re waaaaaay too late. [T]hese counts only reflect what is reported by health authorities. They do not include most people who test themselves at home, or are infected without even knowing about it. Holidays and weekends also lead to lags in reported cases… For that reason, The Associated Press has recently told its editors and reporters to avoid emphasizing case counts in stories about the disease. That means, for example, no more stories focused solely on a particular country or state setting a one-day record

Every time I return to report on a new poll of Joe Biden, I wonder: is there a bottom? And every time, Biden keeps convincing me that he still can find ways to go lower. But I have to say, the new Quinnipiac poll definitely has Biden circling the drain and going down fast. I don’t know how much lower he can go and still not have to resign in utter disgrace. He’s in a death spiral across all categories and all groups. Biden’s approval rating has cratered to 33 percent, with 53 percent disapproving. In November, it was 36 percent approval, so it’s still continuing to go down

The Chicago Teachers Union accepted a deal to continue in-person learning at city schools, following a five-day teacher walkout protesting the district’s Covid policies. The deal passed with support of 56 percent of union members in favor, in an unusually close vote for the organization, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Students had already returned to school buildings on Wednesday, after Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the tentative deal to reopen schools on Monday. Under the terms of the deal, Chicago Public Schools and the union agreed to close school buildings if at least 30 percent of teachers in a given building are absent for over two days because of quarantine or

Inflation plowed ahead at its fastest 12-month pace in nearly 40 years during December, according to a closely watched gauge the Labor Department released Wednesday. The consumer price index, a gauge that measures costs across dozens of items, increased 7%, according to the department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a monthly basis, CPI increased 0.5%. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting the measure to increase 7% on an annual basis and 0.4% from November. The annual move was the fastest increase since June 1982.

According to the report: …At least seven other Democrats who are running in the most competitive GOP-held House districts—from New York to Iowa to Maryland—have said nothing or vanishingly little about Build Back Better. Most of those candidates have not so much as mentioned the name of the bill in their social media posts and campaign materials.

While the battle over education has settled back into the trenches over the last few months following Glenn Youngkin’s big win in Virginia, we are beginning to learn more about how parents became so demonized. As RedState reported at the time, the NSBA sent a letter to the DOJ that urged action against parents speaking out at school board meetings under the guise of the Patriot Act. The DOJ then used that letter as justification to use its counter-terrorism division to add “threat tags” to parents. But as bad as that was, today’s news makes it all the worse.

As Peter Allen once sang, everything old is new again … including grocery shortages. Joe Biden and Democrats initially scoffed at the idea that Americans can’t find their choices at supermarkets, but the empty shelves have become so numerous as to defy denial. The media is starting to abandon the Democrats’ us-or-your-lyin’-eyes credibility test on the grocery-supply shortages. It’s going to get worse before it gets better, largely because of the CDC guidances on isolation over asymptomatic positives in the Omicron wave, as Slate’s Aaron Mak notes: Grocery stores and food supply chains have been stretching

As expected, President Biden and Vice President Harris visited the state of Georgia earlier today where a sometimes confused Biden gave a scripted, angry speech in which he did a complete 180 on his previous remarks from his decades as a Senator about preserving the filibuster, endorsing making whatever changes necessary to the Senate rules in order to, as he said it, “prevent a minority of Senators from blocking action on voting rights.” “When it comes to protecting majority rule in America, the majority should rule in the United States Senate,” he stated. President Biden declared on Tuesday that Democrats have “no option” but to change filibuster rules to pass a pair of voting bills, hours after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) warned the changes could “silence the voices of millions” of Americans. “I believe the threat to our democracy is so grave that we must find a way to pass these voting rights bills; debate them, vote, let the majority prevail,” Biden said in a speech at Morehouse College in Atlanta. “If that bare minimum is blocked, we have no option but to change the Senate rules including getting rid of the filibuster for this.”

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett fired two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to help lift the Bulldogs to their first national championship since 1980, beating Alabama 33-18. After a questionable fumble call that led to an Alabama score earlier in the period, Bennett would regroup and toss a 40-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Adonai Mitchell to put the Bulldogs back up. Bennett would strike again later in the fourth with a 15-yard touchdown to Brock Bowers. With 3:33 left, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young would get the ball back to try to force overtime. Young would throw a Pick Six to Kelee Ringo, which would seal the deal.

Routine definitions of the word “citizen” include such phrases as a “person who legally belongs to a country and has the rights and protection of that country” and a person “who owes allegiance to a government and is entitled to protection from it.” The common point is the transaction — a citizen gives something and gets something, as does the government. One of those rights that has universally distinguished citizens from noncitizens is the right to vote. Unfortunately, we can now add that distinction to history’s trash heap thanks to the far left’s war on the nation’s culture and legal systems.
