What happened to Ted Cruz?

Original Article

I know from the volume of email I’ve received on it that Ted Cruz’s comments on January 6, 2021, calling it “a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol” have outraged many conservatives. Ted was once the darling of intellectually inclined conservatives, but I think the bloom is now off that rose. Tucker Carlson used video of Cruz’s comments as the keystone of a segment on how Republicans are being cowardly and granting Democrats their false premises on the riot at the Capitol being an insurrection or even a “terrorist attack.” As Tucker put it, he was delivering talking points for Merrick Garland

Ok. I’ll keep trying. Republicans are not MAGA’s friend. They never were and they Never will be. - I’ve heard all the arguments against it for 30+ years now, but until we start a new political party this is never goin to change. I’m sorry but You can’t primary this away.

Lifson needs to review his Cruz history. Cruz has in the past attacked Trump for blatantly political purposes. This surprises me not a whit. I do think for Cruz it was a big mistake to remind us of his actual priorities. He looks a lot like Graham and Ms. McCain's daddy.

Starting a new political party is a path to irrelevance. The far Left worked decades to take control of the Democrat Party. MAGA Conservatives need to get to work taking control of the Republican Party. The good thing is it won't take decades. We're already most of the way there.

What happened? Probably what happened to 99% of the good men and women who go to Washington. The Elites found or manufactured leverage that finally 'convinced' him to tell it their way. I dont think Cruz has changed his mind. But he's isolated from good people who love freedom. He's daily wading through the swamp. He may not be fit for office, anymore, which is a shame.

I don’t believe Cruz had any kind of epiphany. He is strategizing. He thinks President Trump is done and wants to place himself as a truth teller. Whether he has information we do not and is acting upon it or not, you can bet that he has weighed his options and is doing whatever he feels is best for Ted. All these Senators have enjoyed the status quo so long they will fight like hades to protect their little fiefdom. There are very few Republicans who deserve our respect and trust in that cesspool. This guy is not named among them. You always remember betrayal, Ted, especially when it comes at a time when we need unity most. You sir, have outed yourself as an unprincipled, self-serving ugly soul.

Ted, a former college debater, is very good at parroting conservative talking points -- but he is a career politician, and when the going gets tough he caves. I was initially rooting for him in the 2016 primaries, but now I thank God Trump was elected, and pray Trump will be elected a second (well, actually a third) time in 2024.

Cruz is a politician. If you do not understand by now that you cannot trust ANY politician, then you are also part of the problem. If you are surprised by what Cruz did, then you have no idea about how ruthless government people are. They will never be your friend, never. Stop whining and take control of your life. God, family and friends are what you should be concerned with, not the heathen politicians. Life is wonderful, so have a blessed day folks.

While agreeing with the beginning of #18, I cannot agree to this: "Stop whining and take control of your life. God, family and friends are what you should be concerned with, not the heathen politicians. Life is wonderful, so have a blessed day folks." Control of our lives depends on what our politicians do... to turn inward and do nothing is just what the globalist-depopulation zombies want.

He might be the smartest guy in the room, but he never manages to actually accomplish anything. In many respects, he reminds me of Trey Gowdy. Lots of hot air but nothing to show for it.

There’s A Reason No One Likes Kamala Harris 35 replies
Posted by DW626 1/9/2022 9:07:56 AM Post Reply
Most people look at the choice of Kamala Harris for Vice President and scratch their head. “Why would anyone pick a person so wildly devoid of political talent or even the basics of likability?” they wonder. The conventional wisdom is that she checked the right number of boxes to fulfill left-wing interest group demands, which is partially true, of course. Overlooked, however, is how there is one more, rather good and important reason Joe Biden, or really any politician, would pick someone like Harris: because by comparison, you’ll always look better. Harris is such a singularly grating personality that she polls lower than lemon juice on an open wound.

There were a lot of head-smacking moments during oral arguments before the Supreme Court regarding Joe Biden’s OSHA vaccine mandate for companies with more than 100 employees. Even though I know the left wing of the court is packed with totalitarians, it always takes my breath away to hear them opine about how the government should be allowed to exercise almost unlimited power over Americans, and their cavalier attitude about the rights of individuals. What I did not expect to hear was Ohio Solicitor General Ben Flowers—a Republican appointee—arguing before the court that the state essentially has unlimited power to force individuals to take a vaccination.

Make no mistake about it, leftists lie. This is especially true of leftists in politics and the media. In fact, on most any matter dear to the left’s perverse agenda, one is safer assuming that the leftist you’re hearing or reading is lying. Thus, almost no one should’ve been surprised at the wild (and numerous) lies hurled by Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer, and Sonia Sotomayor during oral arguments over the Biden Administration’s private sector Wuhan Virus vaccine mandate.

Say one thing for the once-august Smithsonian Institution: When they decide to do something, they go big. The Smithsonian didn’t settle for a replica of the Wright Flyer, it would only accept the real thing, and that’s what’s hanging in the National Air & Space Museum in Washington. Reality used to be the Smithsonian’s prime directive. Now? They’re now building a new collection, but it’s not devoted to science, history, industry, or anything so unifying and uplifting. The Smithsonian’s new collection is nakedly political and linked to lies. And it’s not the first time.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has become persona non grata to progressives. Which is, truthfully, a remarkably easy feat. He started irritating them around a year ago when he criticized politicians who didn’t obey their own COVID-19 mandates. More recently he deplored the “woke mob” and “cancel culture.” The woke mob became truly apoplectic when Rodgers wasn’t clear about his vaccination status and then spoke with popular podcaster Joe Rogan, subsequently saying he had availed himself of the same COVID-19 treatment Rogan claimed to have used successfully. You know, the so-called “horse de-wormer.” Which is not a Dr. Fauci-approved “vaccine.”

Although the Democrats put most of their political capital in the Build More Communist Bill (known as the “Build Back Better Bill”), the bill that’s more important to them is actually the “For The People” Act, which has already passed in the House. If the Senate passes it, it will build into elections every type of pro-fraud procedure possible. To that end, Sen. Chuckie Schumer wrote to tell Republicans, who will be destroyed if the act passes, that they’d better pass the act or else he’ll destroy the filibuster and pass the act without them.

Over the last twenty months, Americans have learned that Anthony Fauci, the highest-paid federal employee, has a very utilitarian approach to the truth. In this case, Fauci blundered into admitting that he knew that he, on behalf of the United States, was collaborating with the Chinese communists.

There's a famous saying often attributed to Edmund Burke: "If you are not a liberal at 25, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative at 35 you have no brain." Youth is attracted to liberalism because its ideals sound good — they really do. You'd have to be some kind of monster not to want to save the planet, lift up the poor, correct past injustices, and share equally in Earth's bounty. The problem with liberals is not their ideals; it's their actions — which never accomplish their intended purpose. That's because liberals are emotional, rather than rational, animals.

Ms. Greenhouse's December 31 column, last of her bi-monthly assignment, reflected the very sour-grapes of a senior citizen who never outgrew her adolescent progressivism: it was filled with the obligatory gibes of an angry leftist, hurled at Republicans, conservatives and Donald Trump. But were her targets limited only to conservatives?
