6 Basic Concepts Liberals Don't Get

Original Article

Posted By: DW626, 1/3/2022 5:16:00 AM

There's a famous saying often attributed to Edmund Burke: "If you are not a liberal at 25, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative at 35 you have no brain." Youth is attracted to liberalism because its ideals sound good — they really do. You'd have to be some kind of monster not to want to save the planet, lift up the poor, correct past injustices, and share equally in Earth's bounty. The problem with liberals is not their ideals; it's their actions — which never accomplish their intended purpose. That's because liberals are emotional, rather than rational, animals.

The biggest one: there is a God, who sent His Son Jesus, and gave us His Word to live by. Rejection of that truth is the root of liberalism.

They don't get that when you spend other peoples money on yet other people you care not about quality nor cost. They don't get that when you tax an economy beyond a certain point that you actually collect less in taxes and that we have been beyond that point for a long time.

“ You'll be treated to an endless word salad of leftist talking points, followed by anger and a personal insult.” I’m sure that we all remember how Rush would put a leftist at the head of the line and then time how long the caller took to start throwing personal insults when Rush backed him/her into a corner with the truth. How I miss that wonderful man!

I'm old but I can never understand a person (this is not a put down to anyone) who can say "I was once a liberal". What? I never swayed that way, ever. I was conservative as a teen before I could vote. Maybe it was the way my father would look at someone being stupid it was a lesson learned. I don't challenge a liberal because it is a fool's quest. I can honestly say I have no liberal friends. The brains of a liberals are hard wire different from mine one factor is the killing of an unborn child that should tell you what you are worth is to a liberal, it's nothing they would do it to you with joy death defines liberalism. It's like arguing the Bible and its meaning...it is what one believes it to be. The concept conservatives don't get is that liberals don't care about these "details". Their ends justify any means, and there is no fact or logic that will dissuade their commitment. It's why liberals are activists, to the point of burning cities and otherwise fouling them with human jetsam and flotsam. What conservatives see as "stupid" doesn't matter to them. Like they say, "Rust never sleeps", and neither does liberalism. Every fight is a step on their road to Utopia, win, lose or draw. It opens the discussion, which generally ends with "change", even if marginal. Conservatives mistakenly believe that anyone with brains can see the falsity or error...and stand by to watch the language hijacked and "argument" prevail. Social justice, anyone? Climate change? Insurrection?

Under 3. Welfare, the comment about welfare now being a way of life. At this point, we have "families" (matrilocal, matrilineal ones) that have been on welfare for three generations or more. This isn't a "way of life"; it is a culture. (And a parasitic one, at that.) Under 5. Biological sex is not a choice God has granted us, the comment "God (or Gaia if you prefer)". I vote for God. "Gaia" aka Nature is unforgiving and knows no mercy. If you want your chromosomes changed, you have a much better chance appealing to God, who does the occasional miracle.

All important, accurate points. Well said. I would add something along the line "After action reviews and rethinking your strategy is a critical tool." They suppose that a certain action will 'fix' a certain 'problem'. After a decade or two of their "fix", when the "problem" is worse.....they never say "Oh, that didn't work, let's do something else". NEVER. They say "Oh, we didn't do ENOUGH of our fix, need to double down." And then in another decade when it is even worse....they still don't reverse course. EVER.

Thank you, #12. I agree. My father briefly explained the basics of Communism to me when I was about 12 or 14, when I asked about it. I was astounded that ANYONE could be so naive and foolish as to buy the whole "everyone will work for the common good" story, even as a pre-teen/early teen. It was obvious as hell to me that the lazy would slack off and just take handouts. Yep. And then reading "Animal Farm" firmed up everything very clearly. I have never bought any of the leftist drivel.

Although the Democrats put most of their political capital in the Build More Communist Bill (known as the “Build Back Better Bill”), the bill that’s more important to them is actually the “For The People” Act, which has already passed in the House. If the Senate passes it, it will build into elections every type of pro-fraud procedure possible. To that end, Sen. Chuckie Schumer wrote to tell Republicans, who will be destroyed if the act passes, that they’d better pass the act or else he’ll destroy the filibuster and pass the act without them.

Over the last twenty months, Americans have learned that Anthony Fauci, the highest-paid federal employee, has a very utilitarian approach to the truth. In other words, he’ll say whatever is useful to him at the moment and call it the truth. However, eventually, when sufficiently cornered or unguarded, the truth will out. In this case, Fauci blundered into admitting that he knew that he, on behalf of the United States, was collaborating with the Chinese communists.

According to the mainstream media, print and digital, COVID is surging, omicron is deadly and everyone with a scratchy throat runs to a testing center to see if they are “infected.” It’s madness on a grand scale. Most of them are not infected but these thousands of hypochondriacs are waiting hours in line for a test that, even if negative, may be positive the next day. The clamor for more tests is ridiculous. Everyone has known since July that the PCR tests were faulty to the point of being entirely useless -- which the CDC finallynow admits.

Linda Greenhouse covered the United States Supreme Court for The New York Times for nearly three decades, until 2008, and then, in late 2009, was invited to write a column, "centered on the Supreme Court," every two weeks, for the paper. Ms. Greenhouse's December 31 column, last of her bi-monthly assignment, reflected the very sour-grapes of a senior citizen who never outgrew her adolescent progressivism: it was filled with the obligatory gibes of an angry leftist, hurled at Republicans, conservatives and Donald Trump. But were her targets limited only to conservatives?

The prophets of the Bible are individuals chosen by God to speak for God. Many mentions of prophets are made in the Bible. In fact, a section of the Old Testament is devoted to a collection of books by them. Their names, and quotes, appear all over the New Testament and are the subject of sermons to this day. What they all had in common was a heart for God, an anointing to hear from Him, and the faithfulness to impart his message to others.

The fact that Nikole Hannah-Jones has been honored with a MacArthur Foundation “genius grant,” a Pulitzer Prize, and has had the New York Times backing her error-riddled and fundamentally mistaken 1619 Project as a curriculum throughout the United States tells us that we live in an intellectually degenerate moment in history. That she has been granted an endowed chair (despite no doctorate) and is heading a new center with $20 million in funding at Howard University bespeaks a collapse of standards. Yesterday, when featured on Meet the Press, she demonstrated genuine intellectual mediocrity. She packs a boatload of BS in this 42 second excerpt:

We know from airport executives’ testimony that the air in airplanes is so gosh darn clean that it’s virtually impossible to catch COVID while flying. But still, when the Democrat backlash began, they agreed that everyone should wear a mask while flying. Now, Anthony Fauci, the man controlling America, has conceded that mandatory vaccines won’t do a thing to make air travel safer—but he still wants a mandate to put even more pressure on people to get those jabs. There’s lots of authority that it’s quite unlikely that you’ll catch COVID in a well-filtered, modern airplane: (snip) Nevertheless, we must still wear masks on those airplanes because...narrative.

It’s hard to believe that, less than 30 years ago, South Africa was a nation riven by apartheid and segregation. To look back on that time period and realize that it wasn’t that long ago is astonishing. Brave men and women stood up and spoke out against the horrendous policy, and eventually, South Africa shook off the bond of apartheid. Desmond Tutu was one of those voices who spoke of the importance of freedom for black South Africans, and now he is with his Heavenly Father. Tutu passed away on Sunday at the age of 90.

With the turn of the calendar to 2022, Republicans are not only looking to the 2022 midterm elections but to the prospect of Donald Trump running in 2024. Trump is hugely popular with the party’s base and that popularity freezes the plans of other possible candidates for the 2024 nomination. Trump’s hold on that nomination is brittle, however, because of his age. On election day in 2024 Donald Trump will be 78 years old. That is one year older than Ronald Reagan’s age when he left office in 1988.Looking at the 2024 contest from the other side of the race, there is no reason to expect that Joe Biden
