DENVER – The semi driver accused of causing a fiery crash on Interstate 70 that killed four people and injured many others spoke publicly for the first time since the deadly crash on April 25.
In a nearly 30-minute Facebook live video, Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos, 23, offered his condolences to the four families impacted by the I-70 crash and thanked supporters for the demonstrations of affection and support they’ve shown over the past several weeks.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. – The 23-year-old semi driver accused of causing a fiery crash on Interstate 70 that killed four people and left many others injured bonded out of jail Saturday night.
Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos was charged with four counts of vehicular homicide by reckless driving, six counts of first-degree assault and 24 counts of attempted first-degree assault earlier this month.

This was a horrific accident a couple years ago in Lakewood, a suburb of Denver. This guy had no business being behind the wheel of a big truck. He had options to hit a runaway ramp or a ditch but he sacrificed others to save himself. His defense was he had bad brakes. It’s always the drivers responsibility to make sure his equipment is in safe working order. Plus being Cuban he didn’t even speak English. He should have never been behind the wheel of a truck.
