Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday celebrated the reinstatement of a Florida doctor who temporarily lost his job because of President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate. “Jeff, a Florida doctor I met in Brandon at the Special Session bill signing, was suspended from his job due to Biden’s mandate. He has now been reinstated due to our efforts to stop this heavy-handed federal mandate,” DeSantis announced, declaring that “freedom has a home here in Florida”: [Tweet]. Indeed, last month, DeSantis, signed legislation in Brandon, Florida — an obvious nod to the “Let’s Go, Brandon!” movement sweeping the nation —

Hey, Biden, you don't need to go on a purge just because some people disagree with you.

A friend was granted a religious exemption at his work, a federal contractor, just a couple of days ago. Still is told that he must take a Wuhan flu test every week.....and he doesn't go into the plant normally, perhaps once a month or every other month. He's perfectly OK with a test when going in, but is pushing back for weekly tests is not near any other employees. At least he won't lose his job. Thanks for small favors.

Unfortunately, Ron DeSantis's voice is heard only through conservative news sites or YouTube. Otherwise, he's locked out of any national discussion.

I was just accosted at the Walmart entrance here in Naples, FL, waving a paper mask in my face and saying all customers and employees must wear a mask inside the store per state or local mandate. They also have a banner posted outside the entrance saying the same. I told her I have had all 3 CV shots, (due to the compromised health of my husband) and that Gov. DeSantis says I don't have to. I just went to the AARP website which states,, "Florida recommends but has not required face coverings for the general public. Several cities and large counties, including Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Hillsborough (which includes Tampa), had mask requirements, but Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order May 3 that barred local governments and school systems from imposing COVID-19 restrictions, including mask rules." Floridians, tell Walmart facemask accosters to stuff it.

Hillary Clinton lost, and now she needs to move on from the 2016 election. I’m not trying to be cruel or twist the knife. I mean this with all sincerity. She just needs to move on for her own good. The constant reliving of her failed campaign against former President Donald Trump is unhealthy. She’s clearly still upset about it. She’s clearly still angry. But she’ll never recover from her defeat so long as she continues to wallow in it, relentlessly poring over every excruciating detail. She’ll certainly never recover if she continues in both word and deed to define herself by her failed campaign.

Republican senators are aiming to stop the Federal Trade Commission's Democratic chairwoman, Lina Khan, from using the votes of departed commissioners to move her agenda forward. Six Republican senators, led by Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas, introduced legislation last week that would invalidate dozens of email votes left behind by Democrat Rohit Chopra when he left the agency in October. The trade commission's current rules allow Chopra's votes to be used for up to 60 days after his departure, thereby allowing Democrats at the agency, led by Khan, to use his critical vote to maintain a majority regarding votes on policy statements, investigations, and rule-makings.

CNN fired Chris Cuomo this weekend. Don’t applaud. He never should have made it this far. CNN should have canned the younger, dumber Cuomo years ago for being an unethical, loudmouthed dimwit. That CNN eventually fired him doesn’t erase the fact it held on to him for as long as it did. Cuomo was let go Saturday after it was revealed he had lied about the extent to which he worked behind the scenes to shield his brother, disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, from multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. In an effort to keep the then-governor one step ahead of the scandal, the younger Cuomo

Homeless and people with low incomes will soon be housed next to the iconic and expensive Venice Beach neighborhood after the Los Angeles City Council approved last week a 136-unit apartment building. The project, which will be built on city property that is now a parking lot, will cover 2.7 acres and the Venice Dell Community project will cost $75 million. This is a development that is also taking place in other U.S. cities led by leftists who believe forcing diversity of income and race into prosperous and safe neighborhoods is required to achieve “equity.” Half of the units will house homeless people,

As a thought experiment, I posted the following statement to Twitter last week: “Unless you are 100% sure that this vaccine is 100% safe for 100% of those who take it (you aren’t), you have NO moral right to force or coerce it on ANYONE. In fact, choosing to do so is an evil action.” To clarify, I added the below as a follow-up: “You can strongly recommend it. You can explain why you think the benefits are worth the drawbacks and/or risks. What you can't do - if you want to stay on the right side of morality, that is - is impose a negative consequence for making the 'wrong' choice.

Editor's Note: Graphic content warning. My cousin was murdered a few weeks ago. Shot in the back of the head by a “friend.” And robbed. He was 29, harmless, but attached to one too many friends in low places. The killer, predictably, was also a young black man. Just as predictably, my cousin only met his father once or twice – just enough to keep his gut throbbing with the snub of paternal abandonment. His older brother patched the gaps as much as he could. He encouraged him, chastised him, and called him on most days just to check in –

While many Americans have been focused on the endless carnage the Biden administration has wrought on our border, New York City is on the verge of passing radical legislation to give migrants the right to vote in city elections. The proposed bill would allow roughly 800,000 non-citizens to vote as long as they have legal status or a work visa. The legislation is expected to be voted on next month and has the support of incumbent Mayor Bill de Blasio, as well as incoming Mayor Eric Adams, whose framing of the bill has been misguided, if not intentionally deceptive. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is suing the state of Texas over its new redistricting maps, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Monday. The lawsuit, which was filed in the Western District of Texas, claims that the state violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. Greg Abbott, a Republican, in October. “Today, the Justice Department has filed suit against the state of Texas for violating Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act,” Garland said in a press conference Monday.

If that’s the case, then apparently everyone is a white supremacist, because the reviews are so bad that it’s become one of the worst-rated series ever. The series is an “R-rated animated Christmas comedy with a touch of a feminist agenda” according to the promo by Rogen and Silverman. The premise of the show is that the role of Santa is typically one played by a white man, and that’s an issue for some reason. If it wasn’t obvious already, the allegory here

There is no better time for the GOP to craft a new Contract with America to drive the campaigns for both the 2022 midterms and 2024 Presidential election year. That's right, it should focus their campaign strategy for the next three years. Why? Even if there is an overwhelming GOP landslide next November, the chances of having a big enough swing to be able overcome a Biden veto is unlikely. No matter what Republican candidates promise; it will be hard to meet expectations until we have a president in office who will support their agenda. Even with that limitation, it is vital to proceed and clarify what we stand for. It isn't just the candidates conservatives need to elect;

Does Justice Sonia Sotomayor even read the briefs in cases before the Supreme Court? I ask because the cases don't come any bigger than Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which addresses Mississippi's limit on abortion after 15 weeks. The Court is being asked to overturn the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade and 1992 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. I joined two other female physicians (a neonatologist and an obstetrician) in an amicus brief detailing advances in fetal science that have happened since 1973. During oral arguments, Justice Sotomayor displayed abysmal ignorance of the most basic scientific and medical facts about developing human life.

Biden is expected to warn of dire consequences should Russia follow through with a military offensive, while Putin is expected to reiterate his ultimatum that NATO should not allow Ukraine to join its military alliance. The outcome of the video call could have major implications as Putin weighs the potential costs of a full-fledged invasion of Ukraine.

Los Angeles Unified [snip] and other districts are phasing out grades below a C for high school students. The idea is to encourage students to learn the course material and not be derailed by a low grade that could potentially disqualify them from admission to the University of California and California State University.
